The reason why they put an alternate ending in there is simple. A man getting shot by a shotgun from behind, then bleeding out his juices in a small pool downstairs is most likely dead. Therefore, there would be no Scarface to make a game of. So, the greedy game developers made Tony shoot the guy with the shotgun and survive, which means: Now they can make a game with him.

this games plays better than any gta (aim is LOT better, and i really love the balls meter, drivin is also better) has grapics better than any gta, and its mechanics is somewhat different from gta, but cool, makin your mansion is good, callin vehicles is GREAT (if you find a good car in the desert is gta sa your a lucky bastard) and the transport to specific locations is also good (i dont want to drive a million kilometer to the next savin point)
