That guy doesn't know anything.  First of all biodiesel doesn't add to the net CO2 in the atmosphere and secondly that honda civic hybrid is NOT the american model but the JAPANESE model.

I have just watched the video again.....although I star in it! I had forgotten what a goon they had used I was furious when I say this guy. He forgets to mention that diesel cars emit worse fumes than the unleaded equivilent. He is completely WRONG about Biodiesel.

As you have stated, Biodiesel may not be available in the UK, but youtube is an internationally accessable, and it must be understood by the general public that biodiesel is carbon neutral and one of many good technologies that should be developed in the face of global climate change.

I could not agree with you more. But having read journals and attending meetings on the subject I am still perplexed where we will find the land to fuel all our cars. I have a couple of articles that may interest you. please email me your email address. Do not post it here! There are some fuels/crops out there that could be grown in arid wasteland areas that other food crops may not grow in. I also have a couple of websites that my be of interest.

My comment is only concerning biodiesel. Media experts should provide valid information. Misinformation is problematic because (as can be seen in this case) it develops public misperceptions concerning the validity of renewable energy technologies in providing technical substitution for fossil based energy.

Biodiesel emits negligable GHG emissions as it is a renewable fuel, i.e. crops sequester carbon through their growth cycle, which is then combusted in the engine during driving. This fuel "expert" obviously doesnt have a clue.

You are correct BUT where are we (in th UK) going to get our source fuel from? This fuel "expert" is loking at all the facts and not just the obvious ones!
