Mr. Gaines: Anybody tell you you look like that Patti LuLaBelle? Mr. Gaines is hilarious. Him, Patti LaBelle, Dwayne, Sinbad, Jaleesa and the occasional appearances from Phylicia Rashad and Keshia Knight-Pullman made this show or it would not have been all that good!

I loved this show and it was extremely successful because the entire cast had great chemistry and worked wonderful together...especially once they rid themselves of the boring Lisa Bonet and equally boring and goofy Marisa Tomei...It sounds like your allegiances lean more toward the Cosby Show if you truly believe that a couple of appearances by Rashad and Knight-Pulliam were the reason for ADWs success...not!

I'm glad they took off Maggie because ratings went down with her on it. I wish they could have kept Lisa Bonet on though because I mean she was the star but then Whitley and Dwayne wouldn't have been the focus of attention on the show and Patti LaBelle wouldn't have played Dwayne's mother.
If I had a son, I would definitely pin him on Kim. The girl with everything, bright smile, sparkling personality, gorgeous face...and a great career coming! lol

Julian was being an ass. Whitley is a little sheltered and spoiled. So she loves her gucci and credits cards? There was a time in the beginning of the series she looked down on others, but her character grew, and she appreciated others no matter what they're background was. She has class, she has brains, she has spunk, she's getting a college education and wants a career, and clearly in this scene she wasn't going to take no shit. But I liked Whitley, and she knew more that he thought she did.
Julian was right. He's an ass because he told her ass the truth? Whitley was a spolied bitch doing the earlier years, which takes place around this time, so his comment made sense back then. I like Whitley, but she was a spolied BITCH in the earlier years, which is when THIS EPISODE took place.

Who would tell someone to spend a summer as an office gopher and unprofessionally turn down an internship that actually pertains to her degree. Julian just wanted a trophy if you ask me. She could get real world experience the next summer not when she made a commitment.

Julian was being an ass. Whitley is a little sheltered and spoiled. So she loves her gucci and credits cards? There was a time in the beginning of the series she looked down on others, but her character grew, and she appreciated others no matter what they're background was. She has class, she has brains, she has spunk, she's getting a college education and wants a career, and clearly in this scene she wasn't going to take no shit. But I liked Whitley, and she knew more that he thought she did.
