  • I have two of these Soviet-era telephones. They are (badly) copied from German and Swedish instruments. To get them to work at all I had to use German transmitter capsules in place of the Russian copies. The Russian telephone authority only ran the wires to the door of the subscriber's apartment. It was the subscriber's responsibility to extend the wires into the apartment and to the connection block. The Soviet Union switched to all-numeral phone numbers sometime in the 1960's.

  • Dont be afraid theres no asbestos! That what you thought asbestos, is only

    grey cardboard.

    Very cool phone! Congratulations!

  • Wow, wow wow! I just bought one of these too! I'm so excited, I can't wait for it to arrive now, having seen yours! Actually I still have to pay for mine, and then it will be another couple of weeks. I was wondering what that round thing was. I'm amazed that I bought this obscure thing, and someone has put a video of it on the internet! I saw that they'd already sold at least a couple before mine - maybe they found a warehouse of them?!

Anyway, Hi, and congratulations on your purchase!
