The human is very aware of his mortality...he knows life will end some day and therefore cannot be saved in this video. At lease that was my take on it in the comment above. :)

My take on the video: The human is imprisoned by his consciousness and awareness of existence, he has an intellectual understanding of his world. He cannot escape this because he "thinks therefore he is". His execution (awareness of his mortality) is inescapable and therefore inevitable. The monkey, while he can share in the emotional pleasures/sadness of his fellow primate, is consciously unaware of reality at the same depth of humans. He is also unaware of his mortality and can thus escape.
