I tried this flying simulator by BI and even though I suck terribly at the controls, I'm amazed how well done is the heli. This simulator is deadly mature and sophisticated. Also, that idiot forgot to read that BI states in the game that this shouldn't be taken seriously; consult a real instructor for flying helis.

can anyone tell me why, my heli banks left all the time? It looks like joystick was not calibrated properly. Starting with different wind directions, always bakns me to the left. I can counter that by manually banking left, but it makes all this so difficult to play. Not sure if I'm missing something, realism, joy settings.. don know. Joy works fine with other sims.

@tarsus4x4 If you're playing on the hardest of settings, you have auto-trim disabled, so you have to compensate for torque changes with your pedals. Either map it to your mouse to have it analogue, which is pretty much necessary, or try to cope with using two keys for it, until they change it so you control it like the collective, which I hope they do. Don't forget you can edit your difficulty settings - play at hardest mode but only enable auto-trim to not die horribly every 5 seconds.

@raiki15 Thanks very much for quick reply, but it kinda doesn't look like like comming from torque changes. Helicopter constantly banks right (like I was pushing joystick right a bit). Wind doesn't matter, torque changes. Even when I'm hovering streadily at certain altitude with no speed (autohover-off) still have to push the joystick about 20% to the left to maintain even horizon. Maybe some difficulty level, or my joy, or... have no idea...

@tarsus4x4 But if you don't have to do it when flying forward, then it's probably just a thing helicopters have to do when flying. If you're hovering in one place, even if your back rotor is perfectly compensating for torque, it's also creating a sideways force at the same time making you somehow bank right. Saw a thread on the BiS forums with real pilots confirming this.
