I just started playing bass. I've been playing guitar for 6 years, i currently play a fender american standard strat. I just picked up bass playing a Fender standard Jazz, cuz its cheaper than american standard. Is this still a fair bass?
If you want that classic tone, try a Fender American Standard Jazz Bass. The heavier body wood gives it better balance...it's not as neck heavy as the mexican basses.
Or higher the volume... LOL! Nah, me too, I just keep playing... Well, mostly I just turn my guitar into a clean sound, higher bass, lower tremble and play jazz, that please my family... But sometimes, we have to rock out!
awesome bass version of the song, it's helping me learn it right now, but it's a bit quiet so i have to turn my volume up kinda loud so whenever the mic crackles it scares the livin sh*t outta me!
Thank you for the kind words. You've already got a great bass. The Ampeg practice amp with the 15 inch speaker is great for rehearsals. SWR has a similar one that's good too. Keep practicing and listen to the great classic rock bass players.
That's funny you should ask, but the bass actually came with a white one which looked like shit compared to the classic red tortoise shell, so I bought one and slapped it on there the same day I bought the bass. Good eye!
Yeah and I could have mistaken you for a 14 year old snot nosed brat who doesn't know how to keep his stupid ass comments to himself. Oh wait, the "93" part of your ID informs me that I'm not mistaken at all.
lol i play the bass myself n i just did Ramble on and HEartbreaker, the way you gotta play is so much better then the modern bands. Led really played the ultimate out of every guitar, 5/5
No, it's an 03 Jazz with a tortoise shell pickgaurd I put on it. I still need to drill the body in a couple places for the screws. I wish it was a '61 like JPJ's.
I have a signed copy of Led Zeppelins Early Days and Latter Days...Taken into John Paul himself by Hugh Manson and singed...Great song mate..You play well..Little bit crackly though 4/5 xD
yea! i saw! man they're rude, they dont know talent when they see it, probably only saying it cause everyone criticizes ppl who cover zep aongs and big bands like that, way too much. cuz they think no one compares but w.e. jpj didnt always do the easiest bass lines, and i think u did a tremendous job! if you have more stuff ill check out ur page later!!
I figured that WHO / John Entwhistle bass run in that song would catch your interest. And HAPPY BIRTHDAY Jack... Post more Vids man.. I love yer Playin
I never drank any Shiner beer, but I've received several shiners due to excessive beer consumption. I'd like to hear you cover "Can you see the real me" by the WHO...You'd probably tear it up. Keep rockin
I didn't really want my bass playing on this to get confused with JPJ's on the studio cut, so I didn't have the volume up to loud when I was playing along. Thanks!

"Well, it LOOKS like he can play"-which simply means your EQ is muddy bass. And don't listen to your band mates. dude, you sound amazing how long have you been playing bass? im 14 and ive been playing bass for 2 years and i still dont think i will ever get that song. how long have u been playing
fantastic, nice work. do u think u cud send me the sheet music or tabs for it? i want to play it for my music exam, and the tabs on the net arnt very accurate. cheers rishta _ kumar @ hotmail . com
Not a problem you really deserve such comments you have a great talent for la bass. And guitar I saw another video with you play. I was jealouse. LOL.
I won't lower myself to name calling like you have, but it appears the only one around here saying "dude" is you, guy. Why don't you practice not making yourself look stupid. And of course, you are one of those commenters who naturally has no videos posted. I play plenty of Rush!
it's great man! i'm listening with headphone it's clearer. maybe next time you can reduce the bass a bit when you record? perhaps lowering the volume a bit as well. if its hard to hear then put the camera closer to the amp? you know low frequencies expand more in longer distance so recording too far away and turn up volume would crack up the quality
I appreciate that. I wish I could do better. The camera is just a digital camera that takes video footage. The low register of the bass causes the distortion with the camera's mic. Thanks again for the kind words.

Excellent! Fav Zep bass tune.
I have played guitar for several years, but have over the years, gotten an addiction for the sound of bass guitar.
I can play pretty fast and clean on guitar...will that speed transfer easily onto bass?
Any recommendations for a "beginner" bassist in terms of equipment and amps? I've been eyeing a Musicman Stingray...(it's super expensive though).
Thanks
