  • sampras' style was really boring

serve volley, serve volley, server volley........

  • @TheSoundDepo

Sampras' serve was too good. it wasn't always serve volley, a lot of his career he stayed back on his serve on non grass surfaces, especially the 2nd serve. But his serve was that good, deep into the corners or swinging into the body. An artform I and many others enjoyed.

I think people who don't work on their serve feel annoyed about Sampras' serve, it is an incredible skill which takes a lot of practise, and those who study it appreciate the skill.

  • @TheSoundDepo

What would Andy Murray do to have a 2nd serve as remotely good as Sampras', that would immediately turn Murray from grand slam contender to grand slam winner I'm sure. Murray has all the shots but his 2nd serve is too attackable against the really top players.

  • I like both Sampras & Agassi... Legends!!!

  • Spinning a ball from the opposite side of the court and over the net back to yours most definitely IS a trick shot. It comes right out of the Mansour Bahrami book (anything he hits is a trick shot!)

  • technically this is not a trick shot. The ball boy should have realized the ball when struck had a tremendous amount of back spin. Legally this is not a trick shot becuase the stroke was not disguised. You would have to appeal it to a higher court to have it ruled as an actual trick shot. The ball boy should not have been fooled because Sampras made it obvious that the spin was put on the ball. The entire crowd knew that ball was going to bounce backwards when it landed. No trick here.

  • @nowbellhere

Here we go, apparently ten year old ball boy should have realized a tennis player was about play the ball over one side of the net and bounce it back the other side. Facepalm time.....

Arrogance by a poster? Or just total a nonsense post? Clearly the latter.....

  • @Techtribal1990

wtf he's ten years old not fucking 4.... not that hard to see. he's just a dumbass, and he will be when he's older aswell

  • Agassi OWNED by Sampras. lol

  • Thumbs up if the only reason you watched this video is because it had the word "bamboozles" XD

  • Nice resolution.

  • wtf thats it???? =.=

  • It's not a trick shot. It's a slice and obviously it has extreme spin.

  • @mcortezzzzzzz

Well, he watched as the ball kid tried to retrieve the ball, he fooled him so a legitimate trick shot.

  • @Techtribal1990 It's a legitmate trick shot if the opponent got tricked, not the ball boy. I asked my coach to make sure. Sorry. But, if that's your opinion of a trick shot, then go ahead. Sampras is one of my favorite players, but he has many "tricks" up his sleeve.

  • @mcortezzzzzzz

Asking your coach? You are probably taking this a bit too seriously.....This is just a fun clip, nothing more, nothing less.

  • @Techtribal1990 ok anyways...I wish Sampras had not retired.

  • WAIT .... Bamboozle....... i heard that word on Friends!!

  • lol its not a trick shot just slice i can do that all day ^^

  • @iTranceLife

Hehe I would love you to show us :-0

  • @iTranceLife Yea that's not JUST a slice:P

  • bamboozles.. givesme a chuckle

  • this is probably the most memorable moments in this tennis era. People nowadays take anywhere from 5-30 seconds to serve 1 time. Here against the best, its a second or two, not almost a minute.

  • i think that's the most i've ever seen him smile in a tennis match

  • u just can't beat sampras at net... just can't do it, if its done, god will smite u

  • @TheFatKid128 many players have beat sampras at net.

  • @mcortezzzzzzz lol i know

  • It's like when you're young and trying to catch an american football that just bounced and shoots off in the wrong direction :P

  • Pete sampras was like alexander the Great. he was unbelievable playa. One of my favorite playa of all time. I should say my favorite and nadal is my new favorite now.

  • sampras is just awesome he still uses the same racket :)

  • @on9hockeu

Give us a break. This is a Sampras video, not a Federer one, you're welcome to go and watch the many Federer videos on youtube instead of posting schoolboy comments like - "Federer is much cooler, ner ner"

  • @on9hockeu You are a Federer-fan just because you don´t know who Sampras is, otherwise you wouldn´t feed is with this rubbish.

  • Lol bamboozle from "Friends"?? Nice vid.

  • its at 1:05

  • @christhemountain Thanks for a great comment totally agree with you!! Pete had an amazing year..I was lucky enough to have been at Wimby 1999 at the finals where he played possibly one his greatest matches in the fact he did nothing wrong was simply superior to Agassi. Sick of people who put this great champion and legend down when he deserves so much more respect - he for me has earned the right to be shown respect for how he achieved everything with class and style!

  • @christhemountain lol I was wondering!!

  • 2:50 Hey people, wake up!! :-)))) Stop eating pizza and enjoy tennis!!!

I remember this match very well, Pete was so cool and overconfident and had fun. That was his best summer ever starting with an amazing Wimby final.

In the next match, he served a ball through Rafters string, sick heavy shot.

If not for herniated disc, he could have EASILY won USO and held 7 year in a row No1 spot.

  • As you can tell, Sampras was enjoying himself in this match :-)

  • @Techtribal1990 Thats cos He had destroyed Fereira and Krajicek during the summer and was on his way to breaking the all time slam record in his backyard at the USO, AND ending the year an unprecendented 7th consecutive year without all the stress of the previous year AND he was dominating the guy who was 2nd in the world far ahead of the rest! until he dislocated a disk in his back returning Gugas serve in a warm up at the USO

  • @Techtribal1990 Of course he is .Look at the score..

  • @Techtribal1990 thank you for posting so many Pete s video. My favorite player, from the beginig of he is great career in 1988,i have seen here in Athens in 2007 playing nd wining veterans tournament.Best player ever by opinion
