  • Both McCartney and Elvis are Great Legendary Artists and do justice to this song in their own ways. But like always, the Great Original Artists seems to be left out of the conversation. Lloyd Price sang it first with the Heart and Soul of a singer that these other artist could only hope emulate.

  • Paul's doing the rock and roll version - Elvis etc do the blues version.

  • ya' know the black leather was a biker attire. People like Presley and other entertainers were only aping that perceived lifestyle. Jeez... back in fifties England those leather jackets worn by clubs such as "The Ace Cafe" were very much des rigour. I'me sure military service, wore them for purely practical reasons? You could buy them at surplus stores. ....... I'm wondering who played the white Strat.

  • Elvis sings best his own originals, and so does Paul! Elvis doesn't sing Beatles better than Paul sings Elvis! But both are great icons!

    That's my opinion!:-)

  • from mighty bo young(lawdy miss clawdy) see youtube:

  • at least the beatles never wore jump suits, thats all im saying.

  • I like the way Paul and John would do tributes to Elvis as well as the original artists. I was watching a documentary on Johns last days. There was a clip of John saying he was getting back to the very beginning. "I don't mean the Beatles I mean Elvis." I guess I never noticed that part of the documentary.

  • Hey, don't forget about Little Richard and of course, the Original for this one, Lloyd Price.

  • C James rendition is very good, check it out

  • pail must have done this as a tribute to elvis, can't think of anything else

  • I have to agree that Paul is ok, but Elvis was much better with this song. Even if Elvis had ever done this song with this arrangement, he just is better able to present it better -- sound, presentation, charisma.

  • sorry who took the solo on the strat?

  • @mrfeinsinlver I THINK it's Marshall Crenshaw.

  • Great version, but Joe Cocker still reigns on this song. (His version isn't on YouTube)

  • I wish i own that fender Stratocaster what a great sound!

  • 1/ Paul is a autodidact musician...2/ Paul is a multi-instrumentalist ...3/ On this video, he played Guitar...4/ But for all musicians in the world, Paul is a bassist...5/ One of the most famous and influential Bassist history of popular music.

  • i think he did this video in tribute to ELVIS,HE LOVED ELVIS

  • ELVIS AND PAUL ♥

    MY TWO FAVOURITE SINGER !!!! :D x

  • Great but not Elvis. Paul was the greatest singer/songwriter of the 20th century though. I have to give him his due.

  • He did do a good job on this. You all should cut him some slack. Elvis is WHY McCartney picked this song.

  • Exactly.

  • @faythkurisu he was only beatle to give elvis his due respect

  • cant even compare to THE KING

  • Impossible to compare: Paul was a musician, singer, and composer....Elvis was a singer

  • elvis does it better.. a lot better

  • Jack Bruce, ace of bass: Many consider him to be one of the greatest bass players of all time.

" Ask him who he regards as the best bass players in pop and rock history (see box) and he answers at once: If youre talking electric bass, its very, very simple: James Jamerson, Paul McCartney, Jaco Pastorius, me.

  • @Chucky1856 - Is Paul playing bass on this number or is he sharing the lead guitar?

  • One of the best voice of the history

  • is not the voice is the bad sound of the video

  • Elvis Presley does it much better

  • Musical genius with a mediocre voice.

  • Well your a stupid cunt yourself. Why dont you just shut the fuck up you fucking MORON

  • maccartney is the most fucking genious that pissed this fucking planet...everyday he surprises me more and more....MACCA IS THE ONE...

  • I'm an Elvis fan, but I think you're being harsh. McCartney is among the best musicians and composers of the 20th century. His resume speaks for itself.

  • I'm an Beatles fan, but i think Elvis was the the greatest singer all the time

  • The Last Resort, not the Last Report. With Jonathan Ross.

  • ¡Es una versión de la puta madre, kids!!!

  • best musician in the world liverpudlians will rule the world haha am a liverpudlian

  • Ummm NO ONE needs to mess with this song. He ruined it

  • Elvis was famous after one year as a musician, the Beatles were famous after 8 years of ups and downs. That is the difference, that's why Elvis is king!

  • I love Elvis above all, but youre sentence is a bit evil ,don't you think? Elvis worked hard much than a year to find his style, Beatles 2 years in Hamburg to find theirs. Elvis was such a handsome, Beatles more normal. Elvis had such a voice, Beatles were so armonised. He took a melody and turned it in gold, they made brilliant compositions. They respect each other, why don't we forget about differences and let the music to be the queen, please.

  • lol,,

  • Paul on the Les Paul!

  • Elvis???...

  • KIller jacket!!

  • paul did a nice job, but after hearing many versions of this song, Elvis just added that special somthing no one else could seem to do, and that is why Elvis is the king

  • @aneesall Awe...Paul is Aping the King by wearing the black leather....They really did admire Elvis...and he to some extent them...They would talk on the phone and there was the time they were so excited to meat him.....This is kind of a tribute....

  • Yep Pauls great but once you have heard Elvis sing this everyone elses cover version is always going to be second best.

    Elvis never to be replaced

  • I love Paul, but the only one I want to hear is Elvis sing this.

  • The world knows this song thank´s to Elvis.

  • Great one "Sir Paul" true, he wasn't trying to take the "KING" off, he sang it the way he wanted too. Congrats! to all his musicians, fantastic. Still! the King - rules on this one. Thank you for posting...

  • I know Paul is damn good, but I prefer ELVIS WAY!

  • the tune is just timeless and Paul does it pretty good ...

  • Paul did a graet job on this. Paul is the heavyweight when it comes to musicanship. He was not trying to compete with Elvis just having fun. I love Elvis version too.

  • Pete Thomas on drums? And who are the rest of them?

  • lol...unfortunately lessons from Elvis wouldn't help here. But of course when Elvis sang Beatles songs the King could do no wrong it was all good.

  • are you kidding me Paul McCartney doesnt need lessons from anyone

  • your damn right there. dont forget everyone, elvis feared the beatles. they didnt have to fear ne1

  • Are you sure bout that? Sinatra feared Elvis, you know that too? I fear a yunger girl? This is not boxing!

Elvis was John fan more than ANYTHING else, therest of the Beatles the same. Fear is a word too taugh, you have to like me, my comment.

  • Maybe Elvis should've taken lessons from Lloyd Price, the black man credited with the 1952 recording. Maybe, Lloyd had too much "Personality" to worry about it. Maybe we should ask "Stagger Lee"

  • Fantastic! Great song, great band and Paul is really, really good, but still, compared to Elvis its another division! Middleweight vs. Heavyweight!-"Its a guarenteed fact" as Jerry Lee Lewis used to say!

  • wonder full i love his style to play the guitar Paul mccartney is a legend

  • Macca does Elvis so well because he understands the gentle humour beneath it all. That's why Lennon and Tom Jones (two examples) were crap on Elvis songs. They just didn't get it.

    Rock on Macca.

  • everything mccartney does is quality.

  • very nice, back to 50's, the golden age
