I like the way Paul and John would do tributes to Elvis as well as the original artists. I was watching a documentary on Johns last days. There was a clip of John saying he was getting back to the very beginning. "I don't mean the Beatles I mean Elvis." I guess I never noticed that part of the documentary.

Macca does Elvis so well because he understands the gentle humour beneath it all. That's why Lennon and Tom Jones (two examples) were crap on Elvis songs. They just didn't get it.
