The Mark VIII has the Teskid block used in the Cobras of that era. In the Mark VIII it is rated at 290 hp stock and is very detuned. The car is also quite heavy weighing it at just about 4000 lbs. curb weight with me in it. All that will change along with the entire driveline and exhaust by this next week. ;-) My 1/4 mile goal for the end of 2010 is low 13s. I plan on the Cobra Intake/CAI next. @RSXYYY Believe what you want. OBD2 cars calculate the speed at the wheel sensors. I also have a 23-tooth speedo gear in the VSS on the tranny. It couldn't be more accurate. At 75 mph, my buddy's GPS showed my speedo was off by 2 mph. Any more questions wise one?

The mileage is received from the speedometer cable attached to the transmission. So as long as the rear wheels are turning on the dyno it is recording mileage. Anyone can hear the dyno turning in the background.
It may be a dyno but you CAN do this in real life without getting caught. Yeah you can get a ticket but at the same time there aren't cops every mile on open interstate. I've ridden in a spercharged 350Z and the guy took it to about 150 and we didn't get caught because it was maybe for a two mile span that we did it at around 1:00am so there wasn't anyone around. Try it, it's fun, if you have the car to take you to those speeds. But it's VERY doable in real life, friend.
Those are great cars, I had an 04 SVT Terminator. I also owned an SRT8 Dodge, the Ford held up way better and I was always harder on the Fords, I had nothing but problems with the Dodge and found others were too.
Lingenfelter recommended break in: Start engine warm up. Adjust valves, check oil pressure, water temp and for any leaks. Take onto street and do a full throttle pass thru the gears then decelerate car using engine as brake. Engine is broken in.
Try recalibrating your brain, and that will most definately show your ignorance. =) That IS true speed. Kenne Bell cobras all over the nation can easily run 160-170mph.. this is old news. Do a better job of staying in tune with current (or even old) news before you give your under-educated suggestions.

Try recalibrating your brain, and that will most definately show your ignorance. =) That IS true speed. Kenne Bell cobras all over the nation can easily run 160-170mph.. this is old news. Do a better job of staying in tune with current (or even old) news before you give your under-educated suggestions.

actually watch the vid again, he didnt start moving until 0:03, and got to 60mph at 0:07 - that's 4 seconds, 2 seconds is a HUGE difference
