I'm a Patton fan and an even bigger Melvins fan, I don't care for Wolfmother, but I don't give a shit if other people do, stop basing your opinions on what someone you admire and/or look up to thinks, think for yourselves and form your own opinions, douchebags. There shouldn't be an argument about Wolfmother here really.
I´m lucky to say that I was at that gig And Fantomas and Melvins big band is great to see because the combination of both brilliant music styles was outstanding to see By the way the band members were pretty close to the crowd - there were other bands playing before and Mike was walking through the public places and walked right by At the lobby of this venue was a shop with CD´s and books - and Buzz was just looking for some books right next to me and even bought one - must been in english
@abby1261 Well, in my case, I'm watching this because I got ears and I know everything he does, from Mr. Bungle to Mondo Cane, sounds fuckin UNBELIEVABLE. That's a fact. But I also got two eyes, and I know he's also hot as hell. You can like both his music and his good-looks, I don't see anything wong with that (as long as you are really into his work).
The Wolfmother vs Mike Patton arguement was rather funny and even Mike thought it was all funny how the Wolfmother fans reacted. None of Wolfmother are at all good looking like Patton is, nor will they be remembered as musical legends like Patton is after 20 years in the biz. He rocks.
I like how people keep bringing up wolfmother. Their career is about over. Patton has been making music for 20 years give or take. HMMM I WONDER WHO"S GONNA WIN THIS ARGUMENT?!?!
he hates wolf mother cause its got no talant needed awful lyrics repeated just a waist of time for people who have no musical minds you listen to mr bungle and listen to his vocals he even does drums in a song on california with his vioce i didnt even know until i really listend a lyric that means truth to me mike would probably agree by a band called malfunkshun (with your heart not your hands mother fucker) RIP WOOD YOUR A FUCKIN LEGEND
@shotgunjoe well if you like to listen blindly and never find things out for yourself then i guess his word would be truth. wolfmother is great. they got a classic vibe to them. i mean if your not into that then thats fine. i like the melvins and wolfmother a lot myself.
uh well the way he disagrees is pretty harsh man, have you heard it?
so when i disagree im pretty sure that i can call him a bastard if he calls wolfmother shit, cause in the end thats my opinion, just as thats his opinion, theres a justification.
and i dont know if i called you shit, you might think of me as a bastard? if not your either being stupid or are retarded. also i dislike his music, but does that make it shit, no, i just dont like it. now listen to what mike patton says on wolfmother
i agree, it is as i stated before completely rhythmic, so you would be a dumb shit not to have a good drummer, especially when regarding the simplicity of the music.
but again, im regarding mike patton, the melvins i could care less about, they lack a lead guitar, thats all, and adam jones comes up with RIFFS, and even though they are not complex they are better then a lonely rhythm guitar.
listen to the melvins and adam jones togeth, it sounds much better, or at least in my opinion.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
oh btw, im not even really against the melvins, to me their just incomplete, they need a lead guitar, and adam jones would fit perfectly.
im against mike patton for being a stuck up snobby bastard who cant understand that he makes atmospheric music where as wolfmother is straight up 70's rock, and even some into the 80's. he thinks returning to your roots is wrong though, which is bullshit, thats how music is made, returning to your roots, but also some with experimentation, which WM does.
Well, on the album that the Melvins did with Jello Biafra from the Dead Kennedys, Adam Jones played additional guitar on just about every song. It sounded great! I don't think that they need another guitar player in the band, but what a great mix of musicians on one record. Jello, Melvins, and Adam Jones! It also features Al Jourgenson from Ministry and Lustmord, who have done some awesome remixes for the Melvins and Tool. Holy shit, I'm a nerd!
ok i heard clearly one chord, and what might have been another, but you cant even tell. i understand that this is really guitar work but atmosphere work, but dont compare him to greats, he is playing something incredibly simple, which is all atmospheric guitar is. the point is its not about the guitar its about the rhythms and the voice, and their i guess it comes down to opinion. while he might have range, i dislike his voice because it is again just to make noise, an atmospheric effect.

alright after watching this i have takin in to acount what everyone is sayin about wolfmother, they suck and mike patton is better.
WTF, wrong!
alright first thing, you wanna talk about creativity, to me all i heard was one chord might have been another accept that is was so chaotic i couldn really tell.
also he was screaming the whole time, and i hate the over use of screaming, it ruins music...
luckly ther was none to ruin.
wanna talk creative art rock, "tool" is the band to listen to.
look man people who knows and listen to mike patton's music probably knows tool
I love tool I have all their albums but I also have 3 fantomas albums this is creative
you are the kind of guy who is going to say that electronic music is not creative its only sounds well sounds are music and this is pretty great to me
that is true, sound can be music, and good music is in itself an opinion.
but then why do people hate wolfmother so much?
what im sayin is that its very hypocritical to say wolfmother sucks and then turn right around and start talkin about how what i think is random noise is good.
that is true, sound can be music, and good music is in itself an opinion.
but then why do people hate wolfmother so much?
what im sayin is that its very hypocritical to say wolfmother sucks and then turn right around and start talkin about how what i think is random noise is good.
what most people have in mind is that wolfmother is nothing new and that I guess we have more respect for the artists who dont do the same thing twice or that are trying too much to resemble to the band they like. one thing can be said about patton is that he is no sheep that is for sure
so the way you would put it is that there are to categories of music.
ones that break loose...
and ones that reach back to there roots...
there is truth in that and i think neither is wrong in what they do.
but in my opinion while wolfmother may sound like led zeppelin they ARE NOT led zeppelin (i think they sound more like sabbath more of the time anywho).
tool also goes out beyond that in that it breaks free, but still reaches back to its roots for heavy music (cover of No Quarter by LZ)
uh. Buzz Osbourne (the guitarist) is good friends with Adam Jones (guitarist from Tool) and has came out on stage to play with them SEVERAL times, and Fantomas has toured with Tool.
Shut your mouth. Not Fantomas' fault you dont get it

well in my opinion adam is far more a creative guitarist then this other guy.
and its not just the guitar that bores so to speak, the whole of the music in my opinion drags, and when it doesnt sounds very choatic.
dnt get me wrng i like choatic, but it has to have a purpose, it has to be intelligent in my opinion, thts why i see tool as far better.
but again what i see as intelligent might be different from your image of it, and in my respecting that, i hope u would respect my opinion.
