I´m lucky to say that I was at that gig And Fantomas and Melvins big band is great to see because the combination of both brilliant music styles was outstanding to see By the way the band members were pretty close to the crowd - there were other bands playing before and Mike was walking through the public places and walked right by At the lobby of this venue was a shop with CD´s and books - and Buzz was just looking for some books right next to me and even bought one - must been in english

i agree, it is as i stated before completely rhythmic, so you would be a dumb shit not to have a good drummer, especially when regarding the simplicity of the music.

but again, im regarding mike patton, the melvins i could care less about, they lack a lead guitar, thats all, and adam jones comes up with RIFFS, and even though they are not complex they are better then a lonely rhythm guitar.

listen to the melvins and adam jones togeth, it sounds much better, or at least in my opinion.

Well, on the album that the Melvins did with Jello Biafra from the Dead Kennedys, Adam Jones played additional guitar on just about every song. It sounded great! I don't think that they need another guitar player in the band, but what a great mix of musicians on one record. Jello, Melvins, and Adam Jones! It also features Al Jourgenson from Ministry and Lustmord, who have done some awesome remixes for the Melvins and Tool. Holy shit, I'm a nerd!

ok i heard clearly one chord, and what might have been another, but you cant even tell. i understand that this is really guitar work but atmosphere work, but dont compare him to greats, he is playing something incredibly simple, which is all atmospheric guitar is. the point is its not about the guitar its about the rhythms and the voice, and their i guess it comes down to opinion. while he might have range, i dislike his voice because it is again just to make noise, an atmospheric effect.

what most people have in mind is that wolfmother is nothing new and that I guess we have more respect for the artists who dont do the same thing twice or that are trying too much to resemble to the band they like. one thing can be said about patton is that he is no sheep that is for sure

but in my opinion while wolfmother may sound like led zeppelin they ARE NOT led zeppelin (i think they sound more like sabbath more of the time anywho).

tool also goes out beyond that in that it breaks free, but still reaches back to its roots for heavy music (cover of No Quarter by LZ)

uh. Buzz Osbourne (the guitarist) is good friends with Adam Jones (guitarist from Tool) and has came out on stage to play with them SEVERAL times, and Fantomas has toured with Tool.
