Edmunds fastest time for the Mustang V6 was 5.6sec and their quarter mile time took 13.9sec. Compared to this car's 5.3 and 13.6.

The reason I was citing Edmunds was to keep the times consistant with their test of this E550. There are other sites (namely Road & Track and Car & Driver) getting as low as 4.6sec 0-60 and 13.1 sec 1/4 mile for the E550. The point I was trying to make was that a 2011 V6 Mustang doesnt have a snowball's chance in hell of keeping up with an E550 sedan or coupe. But nonetheless, yes, the V6 Mustang is one of the fastest cars <$30K

Mercedes used to be built with quality and classic luxury.. now they will build anything and throw the Mercedes emblem on it hike up the price and throw it on the lot.. like i said before.. this looks like a mix between a lexus and a honda accord.. i hope they dont mess up the cl class like the e class.. i have to admit i did test drive it and it still drives like a benz at least...

It's true that in 90 ties, the threw all their know how away and started building cars as cheaply as possible, using computer simulations instead of a proper testing. Now they've got hundreds of models, trucks, buses, special purpose vehicles. They want to sell as many cars as possible.

But nevertheless, I still think they're fantastic. This E-class has better skidpad grip and braking distance than Mitsubishi Lancer Ralliart, yet it's amazingly refined.

They need to improve on quality. I can't believe how bad their reliability numbers are in a consumer report magazine for cars. You would think for all the money you spend for a luxury car like Merc, they would build them in a way so they would last longer. If you look on the roads now, you only see brand new Mercs or the 70's turbo diesels; you never see any ones in between. No one wants to own a Mercedes older then a few years, since they break down a lot and it cost an arm and a leg to fix!

Haha thats tru about the old one's. I know a guy who had a trubo diesel and that thing was a hunk of shit, but it was still running with like over 500k. Mercedes does need to step their game up on relibality, espically for the money you pay for them.

@OneOfaKind949 , I suppose the last time you picked up a Consumer Reports issue was around 4 years ago? They were ranked consistantly low in electronic reliability for the late 90s up into mid 2000s. Quality (not the same as reliability), however, has always been highly scored.

And to contest the second part of your statement, I see about 20-30 w203 C-classes, w210 E-classes, and w211 E-classes on a daily average.

The reason the stopping distance for the E class is mediocre is because its not wearing proper rubber. It's wearing all season tires as reported by the other sites. They tried one with better tires and stopping distance went down from 126 ft to about 113 ft.

Umm... 126 feet?! My Mom's non-sport 2007 Acura MDX does better than that, and it is an SUV. Wow... that's pathetic. I understand that the slalom is weak, because the E-Class is tuned for comfort over ALL else. The braking, is no excuse. But the E-Class is beautiful and the interior is as well. Love the exhaust note by the way.
