Jimmy is traditionally a photographer at the Daily Planet. His character (along with kryptonite) was actually introduced in the 40s radio show I believe, not in the comics. Green Arrow is supposed to be a good guy and member of the Justice League. His secret ID is Oliver Queen, a super rich guy like Lex Luthor and Bruce Wayne.

She kept a gun with her because (someone gave it to her for protection, I forget who now) Clark was in the Phantom Zone and she only had herself to keep her safe. Jimmy came into the office and she leapt up took a shot and almost ended up shooting him.
Yep, those honors can be fleeting but right now its star rating is #70 Overall today and #12 in Entertainment. It's also #39 Most Discussed in Entertainment. Those seem to change throughout the day and then they'll disappear unless it makes the weekly lists.
Thanks for all the responses, It would be nice if we could know the motivation behind a trailer like this but we can't. To answer the point in the last post, the promo might only be smart by accident. TPTB who intend to move on to Lois (hypothetically) may think Jimmy ISN'T implausible for Chloe from this clip AND the car crash might be them thinking "see, we're smashing Chlark for good!"
Love the promo and love Chlark but I'm a whole lot of leery on the Chlark interpretation of it that others have. I hope you're right but I wouldn't put it past them at all that they really do mean to put the sidekick with the sidekick and have Clark move right on to Lois.

I agree with you. The promo is a really good one for all Chlark fans out there i think. It showed when Clark saved her in the basement of the Daily Planet. I don't think the writers can just forget to mention the kiss in Vessel. It was a huge moment for Clark and Chloe and in my opinion the best scene of the entire episode. I still believe that the Chlark relationship will be explored this season more than any other season and i can't wait!!
The kiss in Vessel should be a SERIES-defining moment and it was my highlight of the episode too, ash886. The letter Chloe reads in Fever is probably the most series defining moment, certainly for the Clark-Chloe twist on the story. I hope they don't screw it up, though, like a few online are suggesting. The season 2 backtracking was necessary but they need to move forward here, slowly.

Though he did have a short-lived romance with her, the Chimmy thing wouldn't have ever happened if Clark hadn't ditched her to save Lana...there's no doubt that Clark has always and will forever be Chloe's love...
Clark's been her love for 5 years but I just wouldn't put it past the idiots to write it that Chloe ends it for good this time. I think they might see this as their last opportunity to do that and hope that The CW change, Green Arrow, Zod, the JLA, Jimmy and the rest will more than offset their losses.
I know just how many times the Smallville playwrights have botched up the plot...but I don't think they are naive enough to think that the audience would somehow forget the incredible kiss in the Vessel...
I mean, Man, even an idiot can see the kiss is really huge for both Clark and Chloe...are they gonna just pretend that it never happened in season six...
Again, I really hope season six will give us some nice Chlark romance...
I'll weigh in with an answer to my own question. I think the promo's about the best possible one for Chlark, if we have to have some kind of Chloe-Jimmy arc for awhile. Jimmy's just the right shade of nerdy/goofy. It's difficult to imagine him being a serious Chloe love interest or threat to eventual Chlark, just a writer delaying tactic for a bit.
Kneel before Zod! That's as iconic as Snakes on a Plane! Chimmyark triangle, I like that. More fun than Clexana. Which one of them does Jimmy really want though?

Clark may, more likely than ever, start to reexamine his long-suppressed (ignored?) feelings for Chloe and perhaps ask her out...
I hope part of the purpose for introducing Jimmy is to make Clark jealous, thereby setting the stage for some nice sweet Chlark romance...
