  • Drag it through some mud, then fire it a few times. Then I'll be impressed.

  • what kind of scope is that on your 556?

  • looks like an amazing rifle, saving up for one, just hoping to get it before, god forbid, it gets pulled of the market with so many gun control freaks in office. so does the piston make it more reliable than the ARs and do you have to clean it as often.

  • dude, you appearently got some cool video capability, why dont you do more with it. Change the gas settings, shoot it in "single shot" mode with the gas selector, explain the ammo you are firing, what grain bullets, etc.........damn, you could have a nive vid explaining this gun.

  • @MicrosoulV3 Yeah, I actually didn't intend for this video to be so popular. LOL! I was just excited that I had just picked the rifle up and was taking it out for the first time. I made a slightly better video (see the video replies).

  • Actually there are many piston driven AR variants out there. This is only one of them.

  • FUCKING BADASS! Just got mine TODAY cant wait 2 go shooting.

  • @Gauges i was thinking bout gettin one of these but dont wanna get ripped off about how much did you pay for yours

  • How much did you pay for it? I heard a lot of negativity about its MSRP.

  • I honestly forget what I paid, but it was probably $1,700-1,800. It's totally worth it. There are cheaper ARs, but none that are piston-driven for less in-chamber fouling and increased reliability. This rifle also came with very nice removable picatinny rail sights, three picatinny rails, three high-capacity magazines, and a durable soft-sided case. I really think it's a good deal.

  • @northwestmike whats the accuracy like with it at around 100 yards? i got a DPMS with a 16" heavy barrel and it shoots under MOA at 100 yards. will this do that or better?

  • @northwestmike Studies show the increased in reliability is only about 0.2 - 0.8% with gas piston systems. What you're actually getting is easier maintenance and longer periods between those maintenance. At any rate that's a very good rifle and I wan't one.

  • @adobo777 Thanks for the info. In the months following this video, I actually sold this rife and upgraded to a DPMS .308 AR variant. The Ruger was great, but I wanted the more solid and consistent ballistics from a .308. After shooting the Ruger quite a bit, I don't think the gas piston system is necessary in an AR and it ads a lot of weight.

  • Hey nice vid, but i was wondering what kind of camera are u using?

  • @alexblokal It's a Canon HF10 (GREAT hi-def video camera!)

  • What ammo are you running?

  • In this video, I'm just shooting factory Remington ammo.

  • Not a big fan of DI AR-15s (I own an AK variant) but I love piston ARs. Cant wait to get one of these.. what kind of optic u got on it? hows cleaning the piston area?

  • That's a Bushnell Elite scope. Barrett puts them on their 50's so I picked one up because they are tough and a fixed 10-power. I haven't had to clean the piston area. This rifle shoots really clean.

  • Your next target should be whoever taught you to hold the magwell.

  • No, my first target should be little-dicked asswipes that make ignorant comments on YouTube. And, ironically, supporting the rifle by the magwell will help me hit the target.

  • @northwestmike Funny, thats exactly how I shoot my gun. I have a Smith & Wesson Mp-15A model, and I grab the magwell because I like the feeling of my elbows being tucked into my side. If I grab the upper, then my elbow sticks out and makes it feel funny. Nice gun. My buddy is going to get his sometime this week.

  • True.

  • Nice looking rifle that Ruger made. Only rifles that are full auto are considered assault rifles. That's a term is used by the anti gunners to confuse the lawmakers ect. But it is term that gets used a lot when talking about a nice semi auto rifle like this one.

  • Unfortunately it doesn't take much to confuse a lawmaker about firearms.

  • Got mine for $1400 from local cabelas. Out shoots my rock river, bushmaster, and sig 556. Love that I can shoot heavy hunting loads and crappy range ammo with just a turn of the knob.

  • The trigger sucks doesn't it? I like all the extras Ruger put on this rifle but wish they would have put more into the trigger.

Nice scope too, is it a Bushnell? I like their target turrets.

  • 1400 dollars, and i didn't really know the dealer.

  • sucks living in canada hey

  • AR-15 are only restricted...

  • i want this so bad this is a great little gun

  • awesome trapstar you like assault rifles

  • I love that new Ruger SR 556 think ill be getting one soon. I know its kind pricey. But iv been looking at all the options and it looks like by the time you add flip sight, rails, hand guards, the mags, and case even your most basic AR would be close to the same price.

  • what setting did you have it on in this video?

  • You're right. I'm sorry I judged you and said that overly aggressive stuff. That wasn't right. I guess I was "ticked" off because you and a lot of other people think the president is somehow communist, and some even depict him as Hitler. Obama won't take our guns away. Maybe assault weapons, which I won't agree with, but not the 2nd amendment. No president will get away with that. But again, I am sorry for previous comments.

  • MSRP is ~$1900 and "street price" is about $1,700.

  • $1,500 if you know the dealer ; )

  • Just shot mine for the first time, pure joy!, no misfires 100 rounds of crappy 5.56 mm 55 gr, and the gun isn't that dirty!

  • i envy you man im saving for mine right now cant wait hope i can get it before obama pulls his little communist stunt.

  • Cheap mudasucka, I already have one to defend myself against crazy morons like you. Go ahead and save up all your little pay checks. I know you think democrats are against gun rights, but youre very wrong. I know I have more weapons than you and I voted for Obama. Your GOP party is looking more and more like a fringe than a political party. But if its violence you want, we can do that too.

  • Wow internet tough guy you sound very ignorant im not a republican nor democrat both parties are liars i voted for the independent guy during the last elections and i appreciate what obama is doing for this country but i dont agree with him taking our guns away and im sorry i gotta save to get my rifle but not everyone can go out and spend 1500 bucks without a little planning im 21 and still in college and im in the national guard so im not sure exactly what you're so ticked off about.

  • @trapstar918420 shut up pussy you have no say in politics or gun ownership, people of the gun should respect one another and give them encouragement and brotherhood but look at your self...picking fun on someone who is doing more with their life, serving their country and your on his case for working for what he wants? purely pathetic in my eyes and im sure alot of others.

  • I just put one on lay away. What is the accuracy like?

  • If he is good at compensation for the elevation of the scope he is all good.

  • very nice rifle, been hearing alot of positive things about the ruger. why did you put the scope on a riser mount tho?
