  • I googled nick carpenter aka ck but there's no bio on him...what a beautiful guy...

  • How tradic. I had to cry!( How gay, laugh)

  • Great short movie!

  • just makes me want to cry. Destiny can just be so cruel sometimes...

  • @pvrp115 Destiny... Micheal is a FOOL!! Two once in a lifetimes.. TWO he had no other reason to not act but FRIGHT! Two men held on to life to see him one more time and he.. he flees.... That is what death really is.. Destiny showed him mercy TWICE and he sat on his hands... I'm crying but this pisses me off too!!!

  • @bilbobagginsk Yeah, that's the reason why it's a great film. The real world is simply too cruel to let true love prosper.

  • ليش كل ماحب احد يموت او يتوب @@

    sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo

    sad

  • So sad:(((

  • I often wonder how many men, because of their desire to get ahead in their corporate, medical, academic or military careers really had, given the times of course, to give up the idea of living in a same sex relationship with the person they really loved. I am so thankful that times have changed. The Gay man or Gay relationship may not be fully accepted but the times, they are a changing.

  • @gutoknust , @seanLTobin, @chitpol, ...very interesting topic. I had a very dear friend of 5 years, whom I last met in1983. I sent him card recently but he didn't reply, a decision I fully respect. Both of us married twice & had adult children. We kissed but never had sex because we're scared. Though I love him more than my two wives I suppressed my feelings because we couldn't imagine living together. Now at age 63, all I can do is reminisce the past remembering the only man I ever loved.

  • @Super3381 that's amazing. I'm 36 and from an asian country. I wonder if I'd ever be in that situation becuase where I come from, it's far from accepted and it's a constant battle. I recently went back to my roots for two years, where I met a lovely chap on the beach. He is 23, and now I"m back in Europe, All I can do is think of him. I wonder if it'll every work.

  • @mals12 I was originally from Asia and my friend was of Scottish descent. Though I deeply love my friend (even up to now), I maintained a heterosexual life for the sake of my children, relatives & friends. There's so much at stake had I followed my heart. I had been a working student from very young age, had been the breadwinner of a large family, idolized by relatives & friends for my achievements. Unless you're protecting similar image, please follow your heart , live a life that matter.

  • @mals12 My decision to live a heterosexual life was my choice, knowing that many will get hurt. I am not even sure if I am gay or just curious because he's the only man I loved and passionately kissed (on few occasions). My first kiss at age 18 was from a good looking male friend. I got confused & didn't know what to do. I am very inexperience on this issue to provide good advice. I suggest that you read some of the earlier comments to gauge your best options, but know yourself & be honest.

  • @chitpol, To answer your question I really don't know. I would suggest that it has everything to do with one's maturity. I've known young gay couples in their mid 20's, 30's and 40's who have stayed together. Like a straight marriage, I would suggest that everything depends on what the two people are prepared to put into it. I have a couple living several floors above me, for example, who are in their 60's and who have been together for over 30 years. Yes, I think young gays find love.

  • @SeanLTobin Totally agree with you, Sean. The only difference, I think, is that, since it is a relationship between two men, there's a tendency for it to have fewer bonds than a relationship with a woman, as there could be a marriage (socially accepted institution) and a family to be maintained. So, by definition, and considering our nature, a relationship between two man could be less perennial. On the other hand, due to the level of companionship and understanding gay man can get to achieve...

  • @SeanLTobin ... we can make it last a whole life if we put ourselves to it. Staying alone is a tendency some people develop through life, according to his/her choices - gay or not. I'm 42 and have been with my boyfriend for 8 years now. I don't know, but we have been through a lot together and we always chose love over our own little selves. It has proven worthwhile so far.

  • @Gutoknust ... It is so true. Congratulations on your 8 years. I am rapidly closing on 70 while my younger partner of 24 years is just past 40. We have concentrated on our relationship which has had some pretty traumatic ups and downs not the least was his being charged with 2nd degree murder. He was proved not guilty by virtue of Self Defence. But yes, I agree. If a couple is willing to put the effort into it and not be distracted by superficial nonsense, it can work .

  • I really think this is a piece that really provides a graphic detail of the overall gay community. It is well known that if you are under the age of 35 in the gay community, for the most part, you can be part of the in-crowd. But as gay men get older, they are often thrust aside (the has beens). I think this movie is the portrayal of an older man looking for love, longing for the days of his youth, hoping he has found it; only to see it snatched away.

  • @SeanLTobin but do young gays find love? I mean honestly, think about it. I am 41, and I have found several real loves that r no longer with me for the past 20 odds years.

  • @SeanLTobin I am not sure if that rings true. I am 40, my bf is 51. We are both fit, good looking, healthy and active guys. Both have great bodies (not being bigheaded, just drawing a picture). We are very much in with the crowd. It comes down to your attitudes in life and how prepared you are to keep involved and in tune with younger guys. Listening to the right music, having the right look and having charm sets you apart from the older boys and helps you remain of interest to young guys.

  • @SeanLTobin At 46, I must say I'm in complete agreement with you on this point. I don't know if 35 is "the" age or not, but probably pretty close. Some men are over long before that, some can last longer. Depends on the man.

  • I agree with u somewhat, Alex, but the part that confuses me the most was at the begging of the movie, we see C.K coming out of Michael house. I think this so called spirit was a reincarnation of Michael from the past long ago when he almost died surfing with his friend, as we learnt about it in the few episodes……that my point of view on it…

  • watched a single man, and couldn't help but think of this movie.

ton ford inspired by this film? copied parts? or am i cutching at straws?

  • that must have been awkard to act out haha

  • he died? how sad im crying

  • wonderful XOX

  • What do I know, a man who desires another whether the past or not, a man who had a desire to be with another man. A man who had a passion to spend a lifetime to be with each other no matter where, italy or any other place where connections could be made. No matter what the story you may think it is about, the ending repreents a passion of some sort towards another.

  • it'll be sad if this old fag had sex with the hunk

  • @MaskedRiderSG

dude you will be an old fag once upon too

  • yeah, the young should stay with the young & the old with the old

  • This is eccentric but brilliant! CK visited Michael one more time to say goodbye. Great short movie. Powerful and Desirous! Thanks for the upload!

  • ok, CK is creepy...why'd he kill himself?

  • it was ... more hen tuching , i lovr it to pieces

  • Where is part 3 of this short film

  • cute

  • why make it simple when we can make it complicated and far-fetched?. One needs a good writer to come up with a good script. Otherwise, the result is this. Good actors, good photography, but a poor result.

  • hus d guy? i mean whats he;s name

  • C.K died of sleeping pills overdose

  • The old man asks at the beginning what happened to the wonder. The young man was a gift that could not be kept, but provided a last, perhaps, beautiful moment in the old man's life. Instead, it ended tragically and I confess I was deeply disappointed. Then I was reminded of Robert Frost's poem, "Nothing Gold Can Stay." Beauty cannot be kept, like the butterfly that one dares not try to grasp. We can only behold, with wonder, at both the beauty and the profound sadness of it's passing.

  • nice story but it's sad

  • A beautiful short film -- one of the most poignant I've ever watched. Kudos to the director and the actors. While gay themed, this could be applied to anyone with a past relationship. Very touching and very moving. Yet so sad but entralling at the same time. Glad to have run across this one!

  • When you as old as he was the mind will

let you believe almost anything if you think

about it long enough. And ; Neonboy99...

there are just as many if not more films in the straight sector that are just as sad, it's

all apart of life, that which we see... as we see it through our eyes only our life will be. Never take a step back in life, it gave you what you needed to learn, but

live for something that you will excel in

and learn from the present of that life as

    it is truely a gift.

  • ... back up to the surface because he hit

his head on those sharp rocks, when he paused to see if he came up it was the second guy that he saw surfing, thinking

the whole time if he should take his friends advise, yet still thinking about his

last love. When he saw the kid sitting in

his house that's what his mind lead him to see and talk with him, letting him have

that time again with someone he thought

so much about. The blood on the towel

was from his head when he hit the rocks...

  • I guess it's up to me to help you "fella's try and understand this awesome movie!!! Watch it again if you can't remember these parts of the movie but... it all started when they set the scene of him grieving for his last true love. People will grieve in such a way and to the point that what he was doing after his friend tried to talk him into going after that kid that showed up in his house was... lead himself to over think what he had, if you recall the kid took a dive and never...
  • what a great love story.....it doesen't matter if is a gay or not love story.....thanks bristiday

  • I don't get it, would love if someone would explain it to me, until then I'll try to forgit about it, it's too sad, and I'll never figure it out on my own lol.

  • Interesting, touching film. In a sense, this reminded me a little of the puzzle I wrestled with when I watched Field of Dreams (trying to figure out if James Earl Jones character was alive or not and if/when he crossed over).

  • arghhhhhhhhhhhhh i hate movie like this. it makes me think!!!!

  • its a nice story..

@ roger..Ck died while he was surfing.before michael ever talked to CK.

    It's more of halucination..

he's dead almost at the start of the film..

  • Why must gay films always be so sad?

  • Now you know that is not true. Some are happy and/or funny. Perhaps you choose the ones with strong emotions. Perhaps you have strong emotions and this is a release for you.

  • yea I noticed that too, or like story with drugs/ prostitution...

  • "Good men, the last wave by, crying how bright

Their frail deeds might have danced in a green bay,

Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

Wild men who caught and sang the sun in flight,

And learn, too late, they grieved it on its way,

Do not go gentle into that good night. "

    Dylan Thomas

Michael & Chris agreed not to watch each other die but remember each other young in love. CK hit head on rocks, bled into brain (not M's nosebleed) & died. Rage at death can't be outrun.

  • i really don't understand how CK died, and the signficance of michael's nosebleed, and the ring of the phone. i just know that the writer is trying to connect the situation with chris.

  • .... what a sad story, very tragic it was... who made this film? the writer was running from his problem with his former lover Chris.... but then again he must accept the truth about Chris... so it is just like a same "persona" of Chris which was CK came to Michael... accepting the devastating truth of reality...

    so sad... ;o(

  • Ya theres a confusion on the story, but its a good film i like it so much this is a story between two people no matter wat gender you are u can still help people who is very in need of love.. very good film

  • so sad and the music is sad too but fitting

  • If a movie leaves so many wondering what they saw, its time for the film maker to keep his day job.

  • not even it's called art! make ur own interpretations!

  • I get it...

Sad, but a nice short movie.

  • i love it it wos sad

  • Ok... I think I got the gist of this movie. C.K. did die at the ocean, but his spirit came to be with Michael, to make him face the reality of his past and present.

C.K.'s spirit brought the image and exp[erience that Michael would have gone through had he been in Boston with his former partener, who also died, as C.K. died too.

I think that's what this story is about... any opinions?

  • I think you're right Al3xChap1n. There is a connection, C.K. looked identical to the photo Matthew had of Chris.

  • @TangledWeb Yes. Got that connection very quickly. Was not sure that C.K was dead until he showed up at the house. Was hoping I was mistaken. I hate it when young boy's are killed in these films. But to be honest. It's no longer shocking. I almost expect it. Sad.

  • youre right

    this was so sad

    i

  • Thanks!

  • @Al3xChap1n Just saw this film, and I think I agree with you, its sad but C.K. did died when he got hit by that last big wave (he probably got hit into a rock) and it was his spirit or whatever you want to call it that went into Michael's home, toward the end Michael finally realize what's going on and why C.K. isn't moving. And when you look at chris' picture on part 1 he did look alike C.K.

  • @Al3xChap1n

    inspiring theory:)

  • @Al3xChap1n Thanks for the explantion. I was so lost.

  • @Al3xChap1n

I agree. I think CK is either a real guy who Michael imagines is in his house. OR.. CK is imaginary altogether. CK resembles the former lover of michael, Chris who was also surfer and hot like him. Also, chris is dead and they are asking him to attend the memorial ??

For all we know CK could be abbreviation for Chris K :P

  • he died because of his dreams

  • i don't get it...why is he dead?

  • beautiful, thanks for posting. Amazing perform by Barry Otto
