  • The drums put a shiver down my back.

  • Ох, мурашки бегают... :)

  • does it make me a weirdo if i hate so much playing that piace but i love sooo musch listening to this video??

  • Kinda but not entirerly. You hate the work envolved but you don't hate the music.

  • @indoorin you right ive practiced like 3 weeks now

n its kinda...fun kinda now haha

  • I love how he swiftly changes the mood in his music.

  • @TheEloeo agreeeeeeeeed

  • Awesome!

  • The perfect Ghost and Ghoul Masquerade Ball.

  • This is positively my favorite Prokofiev piece. It's so beautiful and haunting. Our ballet studio is doing Cinderella and at first I was a little miffed at only being a ball guest, but when I realized we were dancing to this I was all "OMGNOWAAAY" and happy. :D

  • My gf and I have a very stormy and violent relationship and this song always reminds me of us. The beginning is when we meet or whatever and everything is cool.

0:49 something bad and all follows

    1:15 reconciliation

1:28 something very quick and very bad happens

1:45 calmdown and fun, etcetera etcetera ad nauseum

  • At 1:50 ... I imagine dancing around cutting the flowers off the bushes at their heads. Honestly, you can hear the scissors.

This would be an excellent soundtrack for a Tim Burton movie. I bet it inspired him.

  • Hahahaha can't you picture that? His next movie; Tim Burton's Cinderella? Oh boy that'd be awesome.

  • I think you mean you hear Prokoviev in John William's music. Of course, Prokofiev and Stravinsky came before John Williams. John Williams is a Brilliant composer, but Definately NOT original. He plagiarizes a lot! Have you listened to the Harry Potter theme and then Dance of the Swans from Swan Lake? Also, the theme of Schindler's List is stolen directly form a small theme from Tchaikovsky's Romeo and Juliet. Listen and hear for yourself! There's also traces of Stravinsky at the end of E.T.

  • Who is John Williams? Serena's father?

  • Lucifer...

  • wat een heerlijk gemeen walsje,

    echt onbetrouwbaar en slecht.

    echt iets voor violisten!!!

  • A masterpiece composed by one of the most misunderstood composer in history. Well, no thanks to the hypocritical message by Uncle Sam, might I say.

  • could someone send me the mp3 ?

  • Absolutely gorgeous. There aren't appropriate words to describe this, really.

  • @SophiaStarlight You are so right. I am not sure what puts me in orbit more, this Grand Waltz or the last part of Romeo and Juliet. Then again I have so much of Prokofiev's music to chose from.

  • this whole ballet is just such a musical masterpiece :)

thanks so much for uploading! It gives me the chills (good ones of course)

  • I totally agree. It's easily the equal of Prokofiev's other great ballet score, Romeo & Juliet.

  • All his ballets are amazing. Romeo, Chout, Le pas d'acier, The Prodigal Son, Cinderella, The Tale of the Stone Flower, On the Dnieper... what a composer!

  • Beautiful, I hear much of John Williams when I'm listening to Prokfiev, just some little things can make me think of some john williams scores.

    Beautiful!

  • I notice it a lot too!

  • I wonder if John Williams has ever admitted to the influence Prokofiev seems to have had on him.

  • How could he not admit it. I think he is influences by most 20th century composers especially Prokofiev and Stravinsky.

  • He always claims he was most inspired by Wagner.

  • 3:09 up to 3:27 is indeed such a beautiful part!

  • 3:09-3:27 is my favorite piece of music ever written. Thank you prokofiev!!!

  • @Ppendu Same!! My company is performing Cinderella in May and part makes me so happy when I dance it...

  • @Falcon21893 Wauw, lucky you! What kind of steps do you use during my favorite part?

  • @Ppendu We do a step where the corps is arranged like the spokes of a wheel around cinderella and the prince in the center and we have arabesque, waltz turns and pas de basques...it sounds much lamer than it really is!

  • @Falcon21893 Doesn't sound lame at all! I like it!

Break a leg on your performance ;).

  • @Ppendu Thanks so much!!

  • Thank you for these new videos! Prokofie's score of Cinderella is beautiful. :)
