It's the biggest city between DC and Atlanta. Never had issues finding this song, but I guess that's because I've always liked it since I'm from here.
Wonderful Keith Whitely song that I had not heard until I stumbled upon it by accident a few moths ago. Hope a few more surface. greatest voice ever. R.I.P. Keith
You know what the world's rarest song is? "Herschels' Hemi Half-ton (with theHooch Tank in the Back)" Been trying to find that for years. This song you can find on any whitley greatest hits
Great song. Beautiful girl in the video. I liked the Missouri/Misery wordplay. Herman's Hermits had a song, "This Door Swings Both Ways," and in the line, "will you live in happiness or dwell in misery," I would sing it, substituting "Iowa" or "Arkansas" for "happiness."
The first time I ever heard this was on the Keith Whitley tribute cd. It was this version on the CD instead of someone else singing it. Which probably would've made more sense, since it was supposed to be a tribute cd. Then again, who else could do this as well as Keith? Thanks for posting this since I no longer have this CD.
Ah i to remember hearing this on tape/radio when i was younger in my mom's car. I remember traveling from Florida to Indiana, when me and my sister would visit my dad for the holidays. I went to yahoo answers to try to find this song, and i found it :). and all i remembered was some girl, in north Carolina back where she wanted to be. LOL and that it was a country song.
I remember hearing this on some best of sort of tape when I was younger, in my mum's car and I've always remembered the "Charlotte's in north carolina/back where she wanted to be" bit, but I could never find the actual song. Or, as you say, it acknowledged anywhere. So thanks for making me seem less crazy. hah
Both of these fans have among us that are demos.......if anyone wants them just shoot me a message.....some of the demos are way better than the studio recordings....I can send them to anyone through email.
ok, im back...its played in E. E then A then B with Fm sharp being the minor. if know numbers itll be 1 4 5 1 1 4 2m 5 4 1 4 1 4 1 4 etc..ok, in english, itll be E A B E E A FM# B- A E A E A E , .ETC. HOPE THIS HELPS. send me the words and ill fill in the chords for you . thx
Thanks so much for that. I can fill it in to the words myself but thanks for the offer. If you want to know the lyrics for your own benefit, ill send it to you.
wow, im a big keith whitley fan, and i never heard this before. wow... i know keith played alot of his songs in F. this sounds alot like miami, my amy. and i know its played in f... havent got my guitar out, but you can bet ill learn this song before tommorrow, lol. thx for posting
I also forgot to mention, when I first bought this album late in 1994 and heard this song, I thought BNA was going to release it as a single. I pictured "Charlotte's in North Carolina" becoming a number one country hit on the Billboard singles chart around mid 1995, just six years after his passing. This is a song I will never get tired of playing.
This is my favorite Keith Whitley song from his tribute album, because I can feel the pain he expressed in this song. This song reminds me of "Miami, My Amy" in more ways than one. "Comeback Kid" is another favorite of mine, yet sad, because it reminds me of his untimely death.
CrisMoser it's an interesting song. It's not rare; I have it on an album. Don't know about chord progression.
Really cool thing is this is really a town in NC and also the name of the love in the song. I think that is so clever and cool in the writing. Take care!
This definitely is not the rarest Keith Whitley song out there, let me tell you. You can find this on the "Keith Whitley: A Tribute Album" CD. Now "It's a Bitch At the Bottom" is the ULTIMATE Keith Whitley collectible! The song may even be an urban legend, who knows. Check my channel for Keith songs that are even more rare than this!
