  • its sad to think how many of these great old records have gotten broken by careless people or thrown out. :(

  • I am up in my years but never knew Jimmie Rodgers and I mean the first Jimmie Rodgers. I am sure glad that I came to hear these recordings before I die. This man was the "Father of Country". A Classic country bard from the `ol days when life was hard but a lot simpler. Amen! God has blessed us with such talent.

  • great music!! thank you to whom ever posted it, ya dont hear classics like this much anymore

  • Thank you for bring us the oportunity to enjoy this awsome song.

  • Ole Jimmie wont have to wait for that train anymore will he?, it came and took him home. i hope there a RailRoad in heaven just for you, Rest In Peace Jimmie you wont have to suffer with old (TB) anymore your in Gods Hands Now and he'll take care of you,if no one else will miss you always know, I WILL . :-)

  • cool

  • i've got some ol 78s down in the basement, coulnd't tell ya who's on em

  • So nostalgic but still the sweetest sound. I just love the music that led us to where we are now.

  • One of my favorites by Jimmie Rodgers. It kinda came back to me after Katrina, along with a few Duke Ellington tunes. Man, this is the music.

  • That is amazing. Good folk music and to see how far technology has come.

  • is there a cover / sleeve for this great record?

  • No, these old 78's only came with a paper sleeve to protect the record. There were no pictures or liner notes.

  • That was great! Thank you for taking the time to let us all enjoy it with you!

  • just pure country thanks for posting this gem G G Ireland

  • Ah! This is magical. Jimmy R was THE best!.

Thank you so much for giving so much pleasure by posting this gem.

  • And, the music goes round and round.

  • this is the best way to listen to anysong.

consider yourself priveledged. J.R. is one of the best, and on vinyl he is like nothing on earth.

    I miss these old sounds...

  • Tugging at my heartstrings; aint nobody does it like J. R.

  • Spelt Rodgers on the record, so this must be the correct spelling of his name?

  • anna8elvis , Don't know exactly how old it is. It's German built and I think it's late 50's or early 60's.

  • WOW...how old is the gramophone? sounds really good!:D

  • bluenote335, Thank you for checking in !

  • What a treat! Bless your soul for posting this gem :)

  • mikeytyas , My pleasure, thanks for checking in.

  • thank you 4 posting

  • bluesstreetcar, Part of my mind is in that era.

  • I wish to be in this era now. Thanks for this upload.

  • damusician, It's surprising how many songs on records from the 1920s and 30s sound fresh. I'm always amazed when a record that is seventy or eighty years old sounds current.

  • cool song! sounds like 70's music. lol!
