Mah Yi-Kol is probably one of my most favorite characters of all time. X3 He mentions Michael Jackson and Michael Bolton at the beginning of his song. :3

Mah Yi-Kol is not black. His character is a tribute to numerous local musicians who were inspired by Michael Jackson. His name is "Yi-Kol", his last name is "Mah", and he used to live in the rural area (hence the tan). The author was originally incensed when everyone mistook Mah Yi-Kol as black, because that nulls the character's purpose: he was used by the original author to criticize the racism against blacks and half-black half-Korean kids in South Korea

Basically, Mah Yi-Kol would be discriminated against in certain chapters because everyone thinks he is black (or half-black), and that works to send the message "discriminating against people because of their looks is wrong". As the author is speaking to a society that is rather racist against black people, the message wouldn't hit home as hard if Mah Yi-Kol was actually black.

The little girl is European looking in others,in this movie they are clearly Asian. was there another Dooly movie released sometime ago??If so,does it have a slightly diff.story line??
