Looks great, for some simple just for fun gun you actually made it workable. get some Hospital rubber tubbing that thing would launch at least 50 feet. better than some crossbows i see people buy.

I can see the fascination with killing that bugger yourself but why not just make a spring loaded (or even rubber loaded) spike trap and do him in with that instead, saves you a lot of time and effort and if you've been plinking him with the wrist rocket already he's probably gonna avoide you a good deal more then he used to.

I agree that elastic bands lose power if left stretched for too long. Still it is a very good design you made and if used to hunt would merely require you to adapt to its requirements.

Such as only setting it up when you spot your prey. Of course this would be best if hunting from ambush as opposed to stalking prey.

Never the less it is a wonderful design worthy of merrit..

Appears accurate enough, damn. So how did it work? And how bad did it stink? I've live trapped all the skunks that tormented us at the old house, but they all ended up disposed of one way or another.

I've scrapped the speargun. When you set up the bands, the longer you wait to shoot, the more the bands lose their elasicity. So, I've decided to make acrossbow out of it. For 18 bucks I got a 80 lb pull bow to attach to it. I have to work on a different trigger system, but when I'm done, I'll post a video of it. Thanks for taking an interest
