  • This march was composed by strauss in honor of Naseredinshah's(king of persia)arrival in vienna.

  • really beautiful!

  • Is this from the DVD Character Dance from the Vaganova school?

  • Try this: turn off the sound on the charackter dance video, and play the "Procession of the Sardar" from "Caucasian Sketches" by Ippolitov-Ivanov, and see how well this choreography works with it. It is best after a 1-second delay in starting the video after the music begins. "Procession of the Sardar" is also slightly longer than this dance, but I was happy to match the two because I often wished to see a ballet to the "Procession of the Sardar."

  • I answered my own question: the "Persian March" (thank you, Dancie) is Opus. 289 by Johann II Strauss.

  • Charming! There's nothing like good old fashioned Orientalism in dance. Would anyone know what is the music?
