Completely misunderstood, you have no idea what happens inside Canada Post. Shut your mouth and stick to what you know because you clearly have no idea what you're talking about. Anyone with half a brain will watch this and automatically realize that you're completely wrong.
OK I like most of your videos, but not this one. As has been pointed out, your facts are all wrong. I work for the USPS. The thing is, I could have done something different with my life, but 25 years ago, who knew it would come to this? The Post Office seemed like a good deal back then. But it's been 25 years of being treated like crap and having to listen to people telling us we're a bunch of overpaid lazy bums. Now they want to lay off 120,000 of us. Stick to bashing rap "music".
@henrybird@henrybird This is about Canada Post, not the USPS, I have no idea what they get. Are you unionized and getting more money than many who had to get a post-secondary education? If so... then this video applies, if not, keep moving. 120,000 layoffs, that's unfortunate, but I'll bet there was a lot more things being mailed 25 years ago. Snail mail isn't completely unnecessary anymore, but it's certainly less important than it was.
@henrybird Yes. I know it's Canada but a lot of the issues sounded similar to me. Along with the common misconception that we can cash in sick leave. I have over 2000 of sick leave. Wish I could cash it in, but I can't. I am in a union and although it's not a perfect thing, union members get paid a lot more than non-union people. So I think that's good. You probably don't. Everyone gets mail. You rely on it more than you know. In other countries, they steal mail because they are so underpaid.
@henrybird I rarely get mail, and any mail I do get could be shipped via UPS, Fedex, CanPar, Purolator, etc (and often is). My bills are all paid online, and I personally probably send 4 pieces of mail a year using the regular postal service. Friends of mine who are younger almost never use the mail. Slowly, mail will become less relevant, and so too will the people who work there. You can't complain about being fired from a job that no longer exists.
you are so right, they make a pretty decent amount of money considering all they do is walk or drive around, putting pieces of paper in a box. They should be grateful that they get such good benefits, especially if they aren't that well educated, or qualified.
CANADA POST / UNION DISPUTE OPINONS This a new page for you to use that has administrators on it that check the page daily. They are not with CUPW or Canada Post. They are Canadians citizens that would like open discussions regarding issues with Canada Post for everybody. Please check it out.
@AudioForAnarchists I find it funny that a guy with "Anarchist" in his name would support a union and union views, since pure anarchy means NO ONE in charge. And once again... what does their profit have to do with anything!? When postmen invest in the company and share the risk, they can share in the profit. Until then, they work for them, and should be happy to make $18/h or more in an economy that hasn't been treating anyone well, educated or otherwise.
@AudioForAnarchists....Seven weeks vacation after over 5 years of work??? You would have to work there 30 years to have 7 weeks vacation. Where do these myths come from? I guess sticking up for Giant corporations is what some people's lives are about.
Thanks for letting us know about the REST of the benefits that they receive. The UNION was VERY careful not to let the Canadian public know about those!
hahahahahahaha FUCK CANADA POST. Cause of them i have not received my protein package for a month . i am never going to use these fuckers again! UPS ALL THE WAY BIACCCH. IF these guys want to strike and be even poorer than so be it.
Buckley you are a funny guy but your facts are really out of whack. Canada Post is not a company that loses money every year. In fact it is a company that makes hundreds of millions of dollars profit every year. What nobody ever bothers to mention is the fact that the Canadian Gov't, especially the one we have now is demanding more and more profit. Who is to pay for this? The workers for one and the paying public as well with the services that they need. Sick days are NOT cashable as you claim.
@GuyOrrEspo It doesn't matter what they make though, that's the part I don't understand. So, here's an example: If I have a company that I start, it makes $10 million a year... the initial investment is all mine, as is the risk and continued expenses... and I hire one employee, a receptionist to answer the phones. They should make, say, half a million a year, because I make $10 million a year? That's the logic here... the "share the wealth" nonsense. No, they should make a receptionist's wage.
@ADoseofBuckley The "share the wealth" logic can also be directly tied to what people pay to use the postal service. If the Gov't didn't demand so much profit then obviously postal rates would be lower. Asking employees to make concessions when their company is in such obvious healthy shape is greedy on someone's part. Canada Post employees are no better paid than their counterparts at UPS, FedEx, etc. The Gov't's goal in all this is to privatize CP and make a substantial payday for themselves.
they just passed a bill making them go back to work and they are gonna get less then what post canada offered them, see what happens when you are greedy they are gonna be kicking themselves in the ass for awhile lol
Wow, I work for a bank and I don`t even get 7 weeks of vacation....that is almost 2 months. These union assholes have it good and they want to go on strikes. Who use mail anymore? Most people I know uses e-mail or text each other. Maybe the Union knows the end game is coming soon & they are trying to get their hands on as much money as possible.
uhh God this is stupid, people need their fucking mail-THEY HAVE BILLS TO PAY! Plus i didnt know about this strike at first so i ordered some stuff online and its coming from Cananda. Now that i know about this strike im like FUCK im never gonna get this shit am i?
Get your pathetic bitch asses back to work you cock sucking worthless bags of shit for brains. Next time I get one of you monkeys to my door delivering shit I'm gonna beat your greedy ass with my belt a cross the face you disgrace to society. FUCKING PRICKS.
I couldn't have agreed more... Thanks to those monkeys at the post office , I've switched all my bills to be received on line. So now the monkey maildude who's gone on strike for more money and vacation days, has less mail to deliver, and soon no job to come back to . The postal union boss should watch Danny Devito's "Other people's money", he might get it.
im never using post canada ever again fuck em, they are too ridiculous with extra fee's anyway, everytime you get a package they always fucking nail you for like 20 bucks.
@simonbrock1 We'll all be working for $10.25 soon? Based on what? Do you have some PhD in Economics we don't know about? You're dead wrong. The talentless, uneducated masses will work for $10.25. People with an education and real skill (i.e. skill more than dropping advertisements into a box) will do just fine.
Like you, these are just my thoughts. I don't have to appear as anything; I just am. I like to understand how people appear to see only one half of the picture. I like to think I see the entire thing (sometimes it is wishfull thinking on my part), but if I am missing something, sure I am open to being enlilghtened. I do my best to practice what I speak. Have a wonderful night and thank you. Take care.
You are funny, but I am tired. Time for some sleep. But all I am trying to get across is that our society has allowed all of this. We have allowed this. Why are we only seeing the "wrong' of these postal workers?
I agree that the union and Canada Post are doing themselves a diservice, but there is still money to be made. We use Can. Post because their rates are more affordable and when this ordeal is over; we will go back to using them. I am willing to put money on the fact that the CEO's of this company are bringing home 6 digit salaries and I am willing to bet that they are getting benefits and holidays. Why attack the worker and not the management? I look forward to being enlightened.
Historically, have not most government jobs paid well? How is that a problem? Personally, there are many people whom I believe to be making astronomical amounts of money that are not well deserved. Politicians they get paid well for lying. Models get paid well to look good. Pimps get paid well to take advantage of others. Sports players get paid well to flex their muscles. I just don't see how these government employees are doing anything different. Enlighten me. Take care
I worked for Mcdonalds as management for 12 years. I'm now 42 years old and have been with the post office for over 4 years. I do have mutal funds and RRSP'S which I've had since I was 19 years old. So, if I can find a good job that pay's $21/hr I'm not going to turn it down. Plus has a pension plan. I'm sure you wouldn't either. Before I worked at Mcdonalds I worked in a video store full time and also went to school full time to get my business degree.
Looks are often deceiving, but does it matter how they look? Facts are: they are on strike. They are making next to nothing with strike pay. They may or may not have families to support on their wages. We all know $25/hr may go further than minimum wage but these people are probably not rich. They are doing what we all must do; making a living the best way they can. We all have our own truths. It is just so sad to see how easy we try to knock each other down. Take care
serisouly just fire them all, and hire new recruits. Hell i would work for them if i get paid the min wadge, there are plenty of desperate folks out there that could use a job.
@LgndryThndr Another American getting their nose into other countries business. You have a lot of problems where you live. Use your sarcastic energy for that.
With the MTHEL, XOS2 and all the other goodies I think we'll be fine for a good long time.
You really have no one to thank but yourselves, the united states was once isolationist until europe proved that such notions are childish and pure fantasy. In the event your country gets hit by a disaster, who do you think will arrive with an aircraft carrier loaded with relief?
It'll be real awkward considering the what? Ten years of bitching Europe has done toward the U.S.
People that get pleasure from other people's pain are obviously lacking in some area of their own life. I am sorry you do not have enough love in your life.
When the government has to trample on the rights of it's people; we should all be scared, because there is no telling what else they might do. Take good care.
There is a german word for it but I can't be fucked to remember or look it up.
I have plenty of love thank you, but I think it's hilarious the people who love to criticise are going through the most massive butthurt clusterfuck to hit the world since the rise of the nazis.
To be honest I welcome the tough times, they strengthen and advance us, even create new generations. A kick in the pants.
The only real question I have is if the EU can do anything besides bicker.
what more do they want? some people are just getting 10 bucks an hour on a warehouse job, not an easy job and these people wanted more. Don't be too selfish guys. A lot of people are now affected because of this.
I agree, we are all affected by this strike. We run a small business, we depend on Canada Post, and still I can not help but feel the plight of these workers. I know for a fact that unions have done a great deal of good in the past. It seems to me they are trying to make the lives of those that come after them better. The current employees are taken care of in the new contract. They are fighting for the rights of the new employees that are still to come. Take care.
Your a fuckin idiot. You have know idea what the hell your talking about. About you work for a company for 35 years and all of a sudden the tell you "your out of luck sorry were taking away your pension". Then what you fuck!! Or how about if you get cancer and your off for a year. You need those sick days. If anyone is on welfare its probably you thinking up this shit!!!
@houseka1 I've just recently got accepted into the university I've wanted to go my entire life and because of you me and many others will not get their admission letter which we need to actually get admitted, if I get rejected, it's all your fault. Fuck you.
@houseka1 "my a fucking idiot"? I don't get it. About I work for a company? you mean "how about?" Sorry "were" taking away "your" pension? Are you a postal worker? If so, I'm surprised I get any mail.
@houseka1 The postal union is too strong, the government has to break it. The post people are way overpaid and their pension is out of line with the times. The average working guy that really has to work for a living does not make anything like these lazy bumbs.
Thank god we have the conservatives in power to step on these bugs.
@houseka1 These postal workers are nothing but slackers and thieves. I have shippments using EMS and I am forced to use these Canada Post idiots. Why cant I use UPS or FEDEX when it arrives in Canada? You will be lucky if angry Canadians dont get sick of this and smash your picket lines douche bag.
@Rmac2007 "The uploader of this video is a disgrunted McDonalds employee. I feel bad for him. I bet if he made more money he would be happier in life. " - Why'd you delete this comment? It'll be funny to the illiterate postal workers that are berating me with awful spelling and grammar, and using the wrong "your". Don't post things if you're too afraid to leave it up, come on... be a man/woman.
@Slasherhorror1980 What do you mean get back to work, these guys don't even know the meaning of the word work. Most of them have about 2 hours of work a day and if they get any more they need help.
I don't want to government to force them back, let them say out for a couple of years, who the fuck need postal service any more anyway?
@justanoldman1 How many postal workers do you know that work 2 hours/day? I see my letter carrier working well into the evening hours.
There are so many people that are 'riled' up about this postal strike...I think they are very much needed. I personally like seeing my mail carrier; she is friendly and kind. Take care.
@justanoldman1 you must be another idiot who's out of work, no education, and a very jealous person. I dare you to walk 8 to 10 kms a day with 10-25 lbs on your shoulder and get paid $10/hr with no sick leave. Get back to me whenever you're willing.
@onijhey Firstly. they make about $20.00 per hour and I am 70 years old and I walk about 5 miles everyday, winter and summer. The route is about 2 hours to complete and they get a full days pay for that, that is wrong.
It takes no skill to do that job so yes the pay should be minimum wage for it.
There might have been a time when the routes were 2 hours long; I really don't know, but why should they be paid any less? They have a job; there was an agreement as to what they would be paid they should get what they bargained for. It appears that you might have some extra time on your hands--why not follow a few of these 2 hour posties and see if there is any validity to your thoughts. And then come post the truth here. Take care.
@corozika No, there was a time way back when posties really worked. You could bring a letter to the main post office before midnight and it would be delivered the next day. Now you are lucky if it is delivered within a week. The union is too strong and it is a competition to see who can work the least and not get fired. There are no union members that work more than 4 hours a day and most work much less. These unions must be stopped, we can not afford them anymore.
From the information I have been able to gather via the net, Canada Post has been making million dollar profits for well over a decade. I believe the workers pay the union their dues, so I don't understand your use of the words "we can not afford them'; is money coming out of your pocket?
I have tracked my mail and it usually takes 1-2 days to come from other locations in Canada. Perhaps you live in a rural part of the country; that might explain your delays.
Explain to me how you know so well the hours of these posties? As I stated before my letter carrier has long hours. There have been days when we didn't get our mail until well past 7 or 8pm. I don't know each of the 50, 000 carriers so I cannot lump them all in the same group, and say they all work late, but you paint them all with the same brush. That is not right. I would think that at the ripe young age of 70; wisdom would be flowing from your soul. Take good care.
@corozika I see the government spending an average increase on programs each year of about 6% when the GNP grows only about 3%. Now I am not an expert but common sense tells me that you can't continue to spend more than you take in without having a problem some where down the road.
The government workers have passed private industry in income and pensions and we just can't afford to keep it up. We see other countries around the world going broke and I don't want ours to follow.
There was a series of strikes in Canada in the early 1990s - including a postal workers strike. At the same time youth unemployment went up %50. Some were made to benefit at the expense of others.
What do you look like...i bet you're really cute. You do need to do more research on the holiday arguement. And I think you need to "walk a mile in another man's shoes" before you can make such comments. I wouldn't dare comment on how easy it is to drink slurpees, edit graphics and video, and surf the net looking for pictures you can steal while sitting on your ass all day. Is that why you're angry, don't have a real job?
@ADoseofBuckley Do you know that back in the 80's postal workers were out on strike for 42 days and do you know what they were fighting for. Probably not. They fought to get maternity leave. And they got it. Which because of their strike the government decided that it should be nation wide and that's why there is now maternity leave. Just like they are fighting to keep their pensions. Tell me where do you work? Well you receive a pension?
@houseka1 No, I don't receive a pension. Most of us in the real world, what we do, this is an amazing concept, is we figure our own shit out. You go to the bank and you get an RRSP, you purchase investments, you save it somewhere secret if you don't trust banks, but you don't spend your money on vacations you can't really afford and luxuries you don't really need. I don't need someone to take care of me when I turn 65, I'll do it myself. Like an adult. Like a man.
@rayrussell1962 Wrong "your". Anyway, Good work at defending your point, those of you who have just come here to tell me to go screw myself or tell me to fuck off or that I'm full of shit. All this does is makes you look like the uneducated morons that I said you were in the video. Bravo!
A job is a job is a job...personally I think teachers should be paid so much more than sport players. I think, parents that teach their kids well, should get bonuses of some sort. People that spend their time taking care of the elderly and the sick should also be heavily compensated, but this is what I believe, and life isn't about me alone. So, that being said, if you are doing a job and you are doing it well you deserve to get paid what ever you have negotiated. Take care.
wtf i thought pimping was good scheme. look at mcdonalds Billion dollar industry workers make 8. 50 sorry as of may 2012 it will be 10.25 but no one cares about them? what about the grandma working there?
i want to be a post man , no education well at least compared to all the technicians out there who have spent thousands of dollars on education, and the mail man makes the same. no wonder why the wife, left for the mail man.
There are about 48,000 postal workers; I am willing to put money on the fact that many of them are educated. Your wife might have left you for the mail man but I doubt it was because he was uneducated. If anything your wife's leaving says something about your relationship and the fact that it was not working for her.
I care about workers--all of them. I try to educate and love people wherever I go. We all live in this world. Life is short. Lets try to get along. Take care.
Somebody made a comment about a Postie truck parked outside their home the entire day...did it ever dawn on you that perhaps the truck had broken down? Why assume the worse? Give people the benefit of the doubt...life is so much easier when we all give each other a chance. It is easier to be mean and nasty and therefore somewhat more difficult to be nice...but try and take the road less travelled; you will find more love in your life and bring more love to our world. Take care.
There is very little that can compare to the respect we give to ourselves and each other. I find it ironic, for the most part, that you all, are communicating with each other, in the same way that I imagaine, Canada Post and the people of C.U.P.W are communicating with each other. The level of disrespect is so high that I am momentarily saddened to know that this is what our children have to look forward to unless we all "wisen" up. Let us try to treat each other with respect. Take care.
Nice Video man, I had a Canada post car parked infront of my house all day long with no one in it, I went to walk my Dog later after noon and decided to leave a note in the Window, I uploaded a Video of it on my page, anyone free to go watch it, pass these Videos along so these pricks understand thats it's a greater cause than what they think!
You are ONE F....N SKUNK... It looks like this is not about your job but about job of someone else. So that's not your problem. Why don't you put your stupid mind in to it ? If we all treat the issue like this soon ALL OF US WILL BE WORKING FOR MINIMUM WAGE or less then that. You are upset because they have a guts to stand up for them self's, I think.. That's why you put here this interactive bunch of lies about their wages, vacation etc. Wonder who payed you to do this bull shit ?
@zygmuntb no one "payed" me (that would be "paid", don't say I have a "stupid mind" when you can't spell). Take your conspiracy theories elsewhere, "A Dose of Buckley" is not funded by anyone other than myself. Also no one's going to be working for minimum wage (or less? how does one work for less than MINIMUM?), Unions are archaic because we have labour laws preventing really bad things from happening. The offer they're getting is a good one, they should get back to work. That is all.
@ADoseofBuckley "how does one work for less than MINIMUM?" It's obvious you don't although there are many of us that already do. I just hope that you will experience that as well in the nearest future.... Have a nice weekend you f... Ahole
@zygmuntb WHO? The only people in this country that work for less than minimum wage are students (who have their own student minimum wage), or servers and other people who get tips. If you make less than minimum wage, and you're working (dividing an EI check by 40 hours and claiming you make less than minimum wage doesn't count), you should perhaps find a new job or go talk to the police about the illegal sweatshop that you're working for. I will have a nice weekend, thanks :-)
@ADoseofBuckley "The offer they're getting is a good one, they should get back to work" ??? You don't know a f....k about the offer they get so don't say if you have no clue about it... and they are READY FOR WORK - your f.... government locked LOCKED THEM OUT, YOU DUMB F...K. I'm sorry for my "language" everyone... I've just adopted the language of author of this bullshit video full of lies.
@zygmuntb They were locked out after THEY started the rotating strikes. I saw a sign that said "Don't Legislate, Negotiate" being held by picketers, they're not ready to go back to work, they're ready to go back to work as long as they get what they're asking for, which is more than they deserve in my opinion.
How do you know what they deserve? Have you ever been a postal worker? Corporate giants tend to think that they can do what they want, when they want at the expense of those on the bottom. This is called disrespect. If postal workers are walking a picket line, I am willing to believe that it is for a very good reason. Get to know your postal worker or any postal worker for that matter. They don't get paid much being on strike or locked out. Take care.
@zygmuntb You claim that that all of us will end up working for minimum wage. Do you have a degree in economic analysis that would allow you to conclude this, or is this just the union propaganda that you are spewing? Wages should be based on education, skill, and experience. Wages should not be based on a union's ability to bully an employer. People with little skill and little education should get minimum wage. If that hurts your feelings, then maybe you shouldn't have wasted your life.
I agree with your thoughts on the working class. If people don't stand up to their employers/governments when they are doing wrong, they will be walked on and treated like garbage. It looks like the rich will become richer and the poor, not only will there be more poor, but they will become poorer. This does not make "our world" a better place.
Now you can correct me if I'm wrong, but I doubt it..I've paid for a parcel and Canada Post has taken their money for delivering it and are now holding it hostage, aren't they criminals?
Post Office will soon go the way of the Dinosaurs. More Welfare bumbs on the way.
Joseph Stalin would have had fun with you slobs. Do yourselfs some good. You wear uniforms so stop looking like a bag of shit in them. Can't dress without Mommy's help.
The post office might very well go the way of the dinosaurs, but for right now, it is what it is.
Did you never learn the saying 'don't judge a book by it's cover'? I see many people in my walk of life that do not dress to my liking, but when I stop and talk with them I find they are often interesting and nice. None of us is perfect at everything. Cut your fellow beings some slack. Try not to paint everybody with the same brush. We all have something to offer. Take care
Canada Post is an embarrasment. A paper Boy or Girl have more responsibility then them. The poor kids have to try and gey their money from some drunk bumb at home. A posty just walks around and stuffs mail in a box. Oh yeh, when it says don't bend, you bunch of numbties, that means you tards.Fire them all and get an alternate source to deliver the mail.
The media will have you believe this is what they complain about and what the main issue is but please everyone talk to the person who delivers your mail. There is no better information than what you get straight from the horses mouth, they have no reason to lie about anything they are fighting for.
The biggest hurdle for them is simply keeping what they have for pension, health and safety and their right to privacy for personal medical information if a short term disability program is implemented. This program would force them to give personal private information to a third party (insurance company) that should be between them and their doctor. I've never heard a single letter carrier complain about their wage. They know they have a decent income.
A dose of Buckley? Sounds more like Buckleys got a dose.
I don't know where you get your info but its all wrong. CPC moves about 10 billion items a year. Amazon ships thru CPC. Sick time is accumulated to be used during times when the postal worker is injured or on long term disability due to the nature of the work.
Pretty much everything you said is just made up shit. But its nice to be home playing on You Tube, collecting the dole and waiting for your postal worker to deliver it to your door.
@mfh2112 Amazon doesn't always ship through CPC (I get many items via UPS), and you're telling me EVERY postal worker is honest about how they use their sick days? Come on... now who's making shit up? So what if they move 10 billion items a year? If they used to move 15 billion, then 10 isn't a lot. And right now they're not moving anything. And don't worry pal, I'm not making any money off this, Youtube doesn't pay someone for 500 views (though how would a postie deliver an automatic deposit?)
Where do these postal workers get their self-entitled attitudes? Given the education and skill set of the average postal worker, they're only qualified to get minimum wage. Ever notice how the less education and skill a person has, the harder they cling onto the union to protect them? Why? Because deep down they know they'd be up shit's creek with a paddle up their ass if they were on their own. Congrats on slipping into a low-skill, overpaid job. Don't look a gift horse in the mouth!
@mg8019sb8819 Yes, but how many of those degrees are in the humanities, social science, or some other field in which people knew ahead of time it would not be easy to obtain a job? It's a low-skill job that a low IQ high school student could do. They should stop acting like it's a tough job, especially when 90% of what they put in my mailbox is junk mail and the other 10% I can do online. Bottom line: They no longer provide a necessary service. They are striking themselves into extinction.
@NAWTPROF I can understand a little of your frustration. But I do have to say that our letter carrier has been delivering to us for almost 3 yrs. She has a degree in Kinesiology and was in that profession for quite a few years. She found it was not what she enjoyed. She loves to be outside and she is at our doorstep everyday with a smile, a positive attitude and a completely non-self entitled attitude. The vast majority of employees could care less about their wage increases
@mg8019sb8819 That's nice of you to stick up for your letter carrier. I'm sure she's a swell person despite her poor choice in a lucrative post-secondary major. If she is one of the few that appreciates what she already has, I hope she keeps her job after they start letting people go. p.s. In future, if you're going to quote statistics, 83% of people believe you should cite your sources. ;-)
i think who is talking have no idea about nothing if so how come canada post profit over 2 billion $ so how can they lose money second 7 weeks for people over 28 years other wise you get 3 weeks mrs???? go and wolk for 6 hrs every day in -30 and then tell us what do you think
@klue6606 This isn't even English but I'll try and respond regardless... why is that an argument? Who cares what Canada Post makes? Why do employees feel entitled to a share of a company's profits? A company and its owners take the risk by laying all the money out, one might say there's no company without employees, but people will work, and for less than what these people want, and it would still be fair. It's called Capitalism. Don't like it? Move to Cuba, see how well you're treated there.
You nailed it.I ordered a package online last week from a company that listed Canada Post as their delivery provider, it arrived via Purolator.I can confidently say many former Canada Post delivery contracts are being taken by other providers during this idiotic strike, and they won't get them back.
@mg8019sb8819 The point is, they will lose contracts to competitors, smart ass.Purolator may be under the same ownership, but it is run as an individual entity.I'm usually polite to strangers, until they display what assholes they are
@MrSqueevoot At some point... I can talk about other things too you know :-) It's a tough one with the musical autopsy videos, because I don't want to waste good material that could be used for the "Worst of 2011" video that'll be towards the end of the year, but it's not funny if I just tear apart songs that are only "sort of awful". So, I'll do more... MAYBE if people are lucky I'll take a request.
My my Buckley, but your one stupid fucked up idiot who really has no idea of the real facts. Guess that's what happens when you're mother and father are sister and brother. Sucks to be you loser!!
@llawyer67 Yes, because I dislike unions, that's indicative of insect. Well done, I take it you're another postal worker, offended that you've been told your job is good and you should shut the fuck up and get back to work and stop complaining about having so much when so many have nothing? Also, "don't call someone a retard when you spell like a retard" applies here, that first sentence is a grammatical nightmare. Sucks to be me? My life's great, you're the one who won't have a job soon.
After 7 yrs an employee gets 4 weeks vacation. Add another 7 yrs one gets 5 weeks, another 7 is 6 weeks another 7 is 7 weeks. That's after 28 years of service. Canada Post employees do not get anything for sick time being carried over and cannot use them as vacation time. More than 2 weeks may be to much for you, but working in a parcel plant does put a strain on ones body regardless on a person's age and for someone like me who loves going away to tropical destinations, 2 wks isn't enough.
I'm sorry but where are you getting all your info? There's no such thing as 7 weeks vacation as soon as one begins working at CPC. The only time one earns 7 weeks vacation is after 28 years of service. Sick time can be accumulated but nobody receives money for sick time being carried over.
@beauteh the point is that SOMEONE is getting 7 weeks vacation (why is it after "28 years", where is this number coming from?), I took two DAYS off last year. Any more than 2 week is nonsense. The sick day thing, the article I read may have been misinformed, but so it's still ridiculous, so on top of vacation, you can technically either "bank" sick days, OR, just take em as extra vacation days really if you're not sick... again, not something that happens in the real world.
@Pace11Setter You're saying I couldn't pass a literacy test when you write like this? Wow.
You're entitled to NOTHING. This is why unions shouldn't exist in this day and age, the balance of power is too far to the other side now. Employees feel they should get everything (7 weeks... insanity) and the owners should have no power in running their company. I hope the Union does strike and my scenario does happen; another company takes over with no union and people like you are out on your ass.
@Pace11Setter What makes you think I'm unemployed? I'm doing just fine thanks. "lol", I'm being trolled by a 12 year old girl. We're done here, have fun at work tomorrow.
In the states where I used to live, like everybody has to work an 8 to 10 hour shift everyday, then go to their next job for another shift and even another one after that sometimes, we only get payed 8 bucks an hour if lucky, when we should be getting payed at the very least 15 an hour, and this is not including small jobs like fast food businesses if your working for a fast food business then you'll get like 7.50 an hour or less. Have to admit you guys are a bit spoiled.
Canada Post has made a PROFIT the last 14 years you Moron!!!.......Furthermore ASSHOLE what they have achieved over the years, YES, they would like to keep.
I don't see morons like you applying to work here if you think its that good......because not everyone can do it.
One more thing SHIT HEAD! THEY DON'T PAY ME FOR UNUSED SICK DAYS!!
YES they are banked for something, hopefully not serious injury or sickness, ASSHOLE!
@Pace11Setter Well postie, I would hope you're at least better at delivering the mail than you are at delivering insults because this is grade 8 quality at best. Also, what SERIOUS injury? Rolling your ankle as you get out of the mail truck you drove 6 feet to the next house? I see that all the time, I'm surprised the Union hasn't fought to have postal workers carried door to door. You're right though, not everyone can do it... the blind and legless would have a tough time.
I like it. Even if I do work at CPC. I think the majority of workers are well over paid for what they do. I am a Technitian with a college degree and 15 years in the trade and get the same as a letter carrier. I am not complaining as I have a job unlike a lot of people we deliver to but the union has done shit for Techs. And to tell you the truth we have nothing to fucking complain about. Not everybody wants this stupid strike. We are killing the hand that feeds us.
That's not bad pay, especially for a 'postman,' and on top of that, does a mailperson really expect to be up there earning as much as people who have actual real qualifications, but, oh well, I'm not quite at the working stage so, meh.

LOL. stop misrepresenting the facts.. who the hell are you?
1) we don't get paid out for banked sick time and we have no access to the banked sick time under most circumstances
2) it can take as long as 6 years for a new employee(temp) to actually get hired. so that quick raise you speak of can take a decade. I
get a life with your misrepresented facts.
HotDoggable 3 months ago 2
OK I like most of your videos, but not this one. As has been pointed out, your facts are all wrong. I work for the USPS. The thing is, I could have done something different with my life, but 25 years ago, who knew it would come to this? The Post Office seemed like a good deal back then. But it's been 25 years of being treated like crap and having to listen to people telling us we're a bunch of overpaid lazy bums. Now they want to lay off 120,000 of us. Stick to bashing rap "music".
henrybird 5 months ago
@henrybird @henrybird This is about Canada Post, not the USPS, I have no idea what they get.
ADoseofBuckley 5 months ago
@henrybird Yes. I know it's Canada but a lot of the issues sounded similar to me. Along with the common misconception that we can cash in sick leave. I have over 2000 of sick leave. Wish I could cash it in, but I can't. I am in a union and although it's not a perfect thing, union members get paid a lot more than non-union people. So I think that's good. You probably don't. Everyone gets mail. You rely on it more than you know. In other countries, they steal mail because they are so underpaid.
henrybird 5 months ago
@henrybird I rarely get mail, and any mail I do get could be shipped via UPS, Fedex, CanPar, Purolator, etc (and often is). My bills are all paid online, and I personally probably send 4 pieces of mail a year using the regular postal service. Friends of mine who are younger almost never use the mail. Slowly, mail will become less relevant, and so too will the people who work there. You can't complain about being fired from a job that no longer exists.
ADoseofBuckley 5 months ago
you are so right, they make a pretty decent amount of money considering all they do is walk or drive around, putting pieces of paper in a box. They should be grateful that they get such good benefits, especially if they aren't that well educated, or qualified.

- Canada Post is making 100s of millions in PROFITS
You're an arrogant, elitist, tool.
AudioForAnarchists 8 months ago
@AudioForAnarchists I find it funny that a guy with "Anarchist" in his name would support a union and union views, since pure anarchy means NO ONE in charge. And once again... what does their profit have to do with anything!? When postmen invest in the company and share the risk, they can share in the profit. Until then, they work for them, and should be happy to make $18/h or more in an economy that hasn't been treating anyone well, educated or otherwise.

eyelesskiller8 8 months ago
Buckley you are a funny guy but your facts are really out of whack. Canada Post is not a company that loses money every year. In fact it is a company that makes hundreds of millions of dollars profit every year. What nobody ever bothers to mention is the fact that the Canadian Gov't, especially the one we have now is demanding more and more profit. Who is to pay for this? The workers for one and the paying public as well with the services that they need. Sick days are NOT cashable as you claim.
GuyOrrEspo 8 months ago 7
@GuyOrrEspo It doesn't matter what they make though, that's the part I don't understand. So, here's an example: If I have a company that I start, it makes $10 million a year... the initial investment is all mine, as is the risk and continued expenses... and I hire one employee, a receptionist to answer the phones. They should make, say, half a million a year, because I make $10 million a year? That's the logic here... the "share the wealth" nonsense. No, they should make a receptionist's wage.
ADoseofBuckley 8 months ago
@ADoseofBuckley The "share the wealth" logic can also be directly tied to what people pay to use the postal service. If the Gov't didn't demand so much profit then obviously postal rates would be lower. Asking employees to make concessions when their company is in such obvious healthy shape is greedy on someone's part. Canada Post employees are no better paid than their counterparts at UPS, FedEx, etc. The Gov't's goal in all this is to privatize CP and make a substantial payday for themselves.
GuyOrrEspo 8 months ago
they just passed a bill making them go back to work and they are gonna get less then what post canada offered them, see what happens when you are greedy they are gonna be kicking themselves in the ass for awhile lol

I agree that the union and Canada Post are doing themselves a diservice, but there is still money to be made. We use Can. I just don't see how these government employees are doing anything different. Enlighten me. Take care

onijhey 8 months ago
@onijhey Firstly. they make about $20.00 per hour and I am 70 years old and I walk about 5 miles everyday, winter and summer. The route is about 2 hours to complete and they get a full days pay for that, that is wrong.
It takes no skill to do that job so yes the pay should be minimum wage for it.
justanoldman1 8 months ago
@justanoldman1
Take care.
corozika 8 months ago
@corozika No, there was a time way back when posties really worked. You could bring a letter to the main post office before midnight and it would be delivered the next day. Now you are lucky if it is delivered within a week. The union is too strong and it is a competition to see who can work the least and not get fired. There are no union members that work more than 4 hours a day and most work much less. These unions must be stopped, we can not afford them anymore.
justanoldman1 8 months ago
@justanoldman1
Perhaps you live in a rural part of the country; that might explain your delays.
corozika 8 months ago
@justanoldman1

@houseka1 No, I don't receive a pension. Most of us in the real world, what we do, this is an amazing concept, is we figure our own shit out.

Canada Post has locked out it's workers. This means no one is allowed to deliver the mail.
Do you handle all disputes as you did above? I'm curious to know how that is working for you? Take care.

Wonder who payed you to do this bull shit ?
zygmuntb 8 months ago
@zygmuntb no one "payed" me (that would be "paid", don't say I have a "stupid mind" when you can't spell). Take your conspiracy theories elsewhere, "A Dose of Buckley" is not funded by anyone other than myself. Also no one's going to be working for minimum wage (or less? how does one work for less than MINIMUM?), Unions are archaic because we have labour laws preventing really bad things from happening. The offer they're getting is a good one, they should get back to work. That is all.

zygmuntb 8 months ago
@zygmuntb WHO? The only people in this country that work for less than minimum wage are students (who have their own student minimum wage), or servers and other people who get tips. If you make less than minimum wage, and you're working (dividing an EI check by 40 hours and claiming you make less than minimum wage doesn't count), you should perhaps find a new job or go talk to the police about the illegal sweatshop that you're working for. I will have a nice weekend, thanks :-)

I'm sorry for my "language" everyone... I've just adopted the language of author of this bullshit video full of lies.
zygmuntb 8 months ago
@zygmuntb They were locked out after THEY started the rotating strikes. I saw a sign that said "Don't Legislate, Negotiate" being held by picketers, they're not ready to go back to work, they're ready to go back to work as long as they get what they're asking for, which is more than they deserve in my opinion.
ADoseofBuckley 8 months ago 2
@ADoseofBuckley
Take care.
corozika 8 months ago
@zygmuntb You claim that that all of us will end up working for minimum wage. Do you have a degree in economic analysis that would allow you to conclude this, or is this just the union propaganda that you are spewing? Wages should be based on education, skill, and experience. Wages should not be based on a union's ability to bully an employer. People with little skill and little education should get minimum wage. If that hurts your feelings, then maybe you shouldn't have wasted your life.
NAWTPROF 8 months ago
@zygmuntb
I agree with your thoughts on the working class. If people don't stand up to their employers/governments when they are doing wrong, they will be walked on and treated like garbage. It looks like the rich will become richer and the poor, not only will there be more poor, but they will become poorer. This does not make "our world" a better place.
But as a society--we reap what we sow.
We need to do better. Take care.

Take care

The media will have you believe this is what they complain about and what the main issue is but please everyone talk to the person who delivers your mail. There is no better information than what you get straight from the horses mouth, they have no reason to lie about anything they are fighting for.
mg8019sb8819 8 months ago
The biggest hurdle for them is simply keeping what they have for pension, health and safety and their right to privacy for personal medical information if a short term disability program is implemented. This program would force them to give personal private information to a third party (insurance company) that should be between them and their doctor. I've never heard a single letter carrier complain about their wage. They know they have a decent income.
mg8019sb8819 8 months ago
A dose of Buckley? Sounds more like Buckleys got a dose.
I don't know where you get your info but its all wrong. CPC moves about 10 billion items a year. Amazon ships thru CPC. Sick time is accumulated to be used during times when the postal worker is injured or on long term disability due to the nature of the work.
Pretty much everything you said is just made up shit. But its nice to be home playing on You Tube, collecting the dole and waiting for your postal worker to deliver it to your door.
mfh2112 8 months ago 2
@mfh2112 Amazon doesn't always ship through CPC (I get many items via UPS), and you're telling me EVERY postal worker is honest about how they use their sick days? Come on... now who's making shit up? So what if they move 10 billion items a year? If they used to move 15 billion, then 10 isn't a lot. And right now they're not moving anything. And don't worry pal, I'm not making any money off this, Youtube doesn't pay someone for 500 views (though how would a postie deliver an automatic deposit?)

how much should a model get paid per webpage ?
TheModelfunds 8 months ago

NAWTPROF 8 months ago
@NAWTPROF I can understand a little of your frustration. But I do have to say that our letter carrier has been delivering to us for almost 3 yrs. She has a degree in Kinesiology and was in that profession for quite a few years. She found it was not what she enjoyed. She loves to be outside and she is at our doorstep everyday with a smile, a positive attitude and a completely non-self entitled attitude. The vast majority of employees could care less about their wage increases
mg8019sb8819 8 months ago
@mg8019sb8819 That's nice of you to stick up for your letter carrier. I'm sure she's a swell person despite her poor choice in a lucrative post-secondary major. If she is one of the few that appreciates what she already has, I hope she keeps her job after they start letting people go. p.s. In future, if you're going to quote statistics, 83% of people believe you should cite your sources. ;-)

klue6606 8 months ago

MrSqueevoot 8 months ago
@MrSqueevoot At some point... I can talk about other things too you know :-) It's a tough one with the musical autopsy videos, because I don't want to waste good material that could be used for the "Worst of 2011" video that'll be towards the end of the year, but it's not funny if I just tear apart songs that are only "sort of awful". So, I'll do more... MAYBE if people are lucky I'll take a request.

ADoseofBuckley 8 months ago
After 7 yrs an employee gets 4 weeks vacation. Add another 7 yrs one gets 5 weeks, another 7 is 6 weeks another 7 is 7 weeks. That's after 28 years of service. Canada Post employees do not get anything for sick time being carried over and cannot use them as vacation time. More than 2 weeks may be to much for you, but working in a parcel plant does put a strain on ones body regardless on a person's age and for someone like me who loves going away to tropical destinations, 2 wks isn't enough.
beauteh 8 months ago
I'm sorry but where are you getting all your info? There's no such thing as 7 weeks vacation as soon as one begins working at CPC. The only time one earns 7 weeks vacation is after 28 years of service. Sick time can be accumulated but nobody receives money for sick time being carried over.
beauteh 8 months ago
@beauteh the point is that SOMEONE is getting 7 weeks vacation (why is it after "28 years", where is this number coming from?), I took two DAYS off last year. Any more than 2 week is nonsense. The sick day thing, the article I read may have been misinformed, but so it's still ridiculous, so on top of vacation, you can technically either "bank" sick days, OR, just take em as extra vacation days really if you're not sick... again, not something that happens in the real world.
ADoseofBuckley 8 months ago
NICE VIDEO BY THE WAY! LMFAO!
DON'T be disgruntled because YOU DIDN'T PASS THE LITERACY TEST....Dippshit. STOP SPEWING THE BULLSHIT......GET YOUR FACTS STRAIGHT.
IT'S NOT ABOUT THE $18 TO START, OR THE 7 WEEKS VACATION THAT YOU ARE ENTITLED, AFTER 28 YEARS OF SERVICE.....
IT'S ABOUT THE 2 BUNDLE DELIVERY THAT PUTS THE EMPLOYEE AT RISK OF INJURY.
SO I GUESS THE POSTIES ARE DAMNED IF WE DO AND DAMNED IF WE DON'T...........
Pace11Setter 8 months ago
@Pace11Setter You're saying I couldn't pass a literacy test when you write like this? Wow.
You're entitled to NOTHING. This is why unions shouldn't exist in this day and age, the balance of power is too far to the other side now. Employees feel they should get everything (7 weeks... insanity) and the owners should have no power in running their company. I hope the Union does strike and my scenario does happen; another company takes over with no union and people like you are out on your ass.

Pace11Setter 8 months ago
@Pace11Setter Well postie, I would hope you're at least better at delivering the mail than you are at delivering insults because this is grade 8 quality at best. Also, what SERIOUS injury? Rolling your ankle as you get out of the mail truck you drove 6 feet to the next house? I see that all the time, I'm surprised the Union hasn't fought to have postal workers carried door to door. You're right though, not everyone can do it... the blind and legless would have a tough time.
ADoseofBuckley 8 months ago
