    CRISP WHITE BLOUSE.

  • Well, Boys & Girls,,,, Come August 14, 2009, the new Public Law 110-314 will be in effect. Small businesses will be required to take their products to a third party testing facility to get mandatory testing. No, no, no, that's not the bad news. The bad news is that the product being tested, will be destroyed in the testing process and it will only const the small business a mere $500 (ave) per test. Contact your congress men/women and tell them to rewrite this law or look for another job.

  • what a load of crap . I worked at goodwill . they fired me when I told them about what I see . goodwill DOES NOT alert employees . THEY don't tell us anything . til it's too late . when teh lead scare of 08 hit . goodwill stopped for 1 month . BUT , because they lost sales they resumed .

  • 46cat- First, What did you see?

Second, what should Goodwill Employees be alerted about?

I'm trying to understand your point(s).

  • goodwill don't tell us donations people of recalls we ahve to read the recall book . second , I saw alot of stuff thrown out that they tell YOU "it goes to 3rd world countries " . yeah 3rd world to goodwill is the dumpster . employees sort through the good stuff . after it's been out on the floor for 1 day we buy it . goodwill threw out a painting of "sitting bull "

  • I can see where you're coming from.

  • I don't understand why the Government is all of a sudden so ridiculously overboard with childrens toys containing lead paint when there is no regulation on ANY cosmetics and personal products that have TONS od lead in them...stupid.

Not to mention all the poisons on our clothes and blankets that babies mouth and suck on.

I wonder if that was just a clever ploy from big toy companies to put smaller toy makers out of buisness, I wouldn't be surprised.

  • hmmm,I guess this law does not apply to kentucky!

  • Good grief. How in the world did I ever survive to 53 years without the Feds telling my parents what I can wear or play with?

  • Yes its mad I tell you!

I work at the goodwill in Tulsa, Oklahoma as a hanger, and so I have to watch what I hang up.

Its sad really... AND we have to be careful about draw strings as well!

  • When is this mindless direction for our youngsters gonna end!!!

Brainless People in Governement Positions giving us Direction - OMG NO!

  • @teenfashionuk uh......i agree that the gov't gets a little crazy at times but this deals with lead contamination....isn't lead a bad thing?

  • The UK use to be known for around 50 or so wonderful types of Apples many of which were used for Natural Ciders or perfect for cooking an pies!

Not so since EEC European rules stopped that, now we have virtually no producers or Farmers and the only Apples we buy are from France, our Cider is now produced from concentrated mulsh from Eastern Europe!

  • OTT MADNESS!

    OMG!

The decades of Asian cheap dodgy imports are hoped to be resolved by young graduates with no life experience telling us to stop selling pre-owned items in case they are dangerous - OMG how sad is that!

Were they ok for the previous generation then?

  • Insanity, insanity and more insanity. it never ends. Check out those offhand comments at the end of the report about "surveillance police" who will be "out there watching". And these two news people are just like "la di dah, it's all good" about it. Again.. insanity, insanity and more insanity...

  • This is crap. I don't get it. I don't here about kids dying from lead poisoning in their clothes. ever.

  • Comment removed

  • I am a long time patron of thrift shops and can't believe I may not be able to stretch the budget with this invaluable resource as I have for years- buying children's clothing, toys and books! :( Why the powers that be didn't think this through BEFORE passing this legislation last summer is irresponsible IMHO.

  • This is just nuts, even thrift stores are being affected. I'm all for being safe when it comes to kids, but....wow...
