Unfortunately some Spyware & malicious viruses are immune to virus removing tools even after your scanning tool has done the job , to override a Stubborn Virus [on win-xp] you must restart on "Safe mode" when restarting press F8 repeatedly until a boot menu appears - on Safe mode Go to Start menu /Accessories/system tools/ select system restore then select which day you want to restore your system to, this method has always worked for me.

Yeah, when I called Microsoft Support, they recommended the same course of action. It worked very well. Everyone, just make sure that you have a good supply of restore points. You don't have to keep them on your computer, you can always back them up.

I had a much more powerful 'IE Antivirus' infection. I did not download anything and this error appeared with my personal information on it and it nearly destroyed my computer by opening an unlimited amount of webpages. You do not need to go anywhere near that program for it to be dangerous. So that noone else suffers what I did - BE VERY CAREFUL ON THE INTERNET - I DID NOT BELIEVE IT AND A WEBPAGE BECAME A BIG THREAT TO ME. This problem occurs when you go onto an application download site .

mine was kinda like that but instead a prgram popped up and it said internet explorere, but instead of a web page it showed me stuff telling me i had a virus, then it told me to download a spyware program but i didnt.

when i got it fixed(used SpyHunter, thanks guy) i went on internet and wikipedia said that if i clicked download buton i would get a bigger more hobbile virus

i just defeated ieantivirus you press start go to all programs than go to accessories than system tools than system restore and there you can pick any date before you got infected with the virus and then it will go to that date and you wont have the virus thats what i did and it worked perfectly

Do not download IE Antivirus is a viruses/spyware on your PC infected.

Unfortunately this doesn't completely remove the infection. You must first boot into safe mode and remove all traces from the C:\Program Files and C:\Docs and Settings\User\Desktop files first, then restart and run SpyHunter or Spybot S&D, then you will be free of it.
