  • Chris I just recently found your reviews I love them. This game deserves 5. Besides that, on the title screen when you are deciding one, two or coop play, you can hit d-pad right, select, right, select, right select, and you can expand your continues and also do a level select if I remember correctly

  • @DctrEvil17 Awesome! Thank you so much for the kind words. And I'm glad you love AB....it is a really good game. Yes, I believe there are some cheats and codes not mentioned in the manual.... Thanks for watching!

  • Better than Genesis version but Genesis had several difficulty settings

  • @jayson4404 Thanks for watching!

  • Nice Review, really liked the video and info, sure makes me want it ;0)

  • @russell56443 Thanks a lot!!

  • Great review of a great game from a great reviewer. I got that out of the way, great ;P Seriously Chris I know this game like the back of my hand & it felt like you do too, nothing like those 5 minute reviews where the guy plays the 1st 2 stages :P

Hard game? Back then perhaps. But once you know the patterns it becomes an enjoyable ride through a rough neighbourhood... Or a walk in the park if you play co-op. You then play the game while watching tv & yell "charge!" once in a while ;)

  • Chris you wont believe this...but i recently purchased a complete jap copy for 22 bucks (this included shipping). Awesome deal don't you think?

  • @123doomdoom Sweet! :)

  • Spida1a, would knowing the "Right, Right, Select" code (entered at the title screen to net you 9 extra credits), have bumped this up to 4.5/5 "Turbo Chips"?

Also the flip-side to the yellow logo screen, the blue one, bumps the difficulty *down* to a more manageable level (Up + Left, Down + Right, then select - entered after the above code).

Maybe it'll help someone anyway. Great review, as always.

  • @Nintendough No. I don't ever base my final review on a cheat or a code. :) :)

Thanks for watching and commenting. PS, love the screen name Ninten-dough. Ha ha!

  • Great review again! This is my most recent PC Engine purchase, along with W Ring and Burning Angels. Your screenshots and vids really bring these games to life. Nice work!

  • @futurematt5 Great to hear. Thanks for the support and watching!

  • I still own this game, but man, this game is freaking hard ! I still have yet to beat this game. I can't even imagine playing this on the harder difficulty level ! Great review spida1a ! Keep up the great work, and great memories of the TURBOGRAFX 16 / TURBO DUO SYSTEM !!!!

  • Yes, it truly gets difficult. Ha ha. :)

  • May have to sit down one day and give this one a serious try.

I had it at one time but, due to my lack of patience and poor of anger management skills it had a little accident.

This one is kind of hard to find too. I miss it.

  • Aero Blasters is much better than Syd Mead's Terraforming and its nice the TurboGrafx has built in turbo fire, but no built in player 2 port (stupid NEC making me buy a Turbo Tap) .Helpfully there will be a Wii Virtual Console release and no need for a Tubo Tap to play 2-players.

  • Didn't this game come out for the Genesis?

  • Yes, I believe it was called Air Buster like the arcade counterpart. Never played it though. :)

  • LOL! Really! :)

    Thanks for watching!

  • awesome Peter Griffin rendition!! :)

  • Excellent review, & you are right, this was a challenging game. I used to pop quite a few quarters into the arcade counterpart "Air Buster" back in 1990 & didn't get very far due to the difficulty.

Great graphics for its time, & the gameplay has held up well.

  • Hey thanks! I never played the arcade version of the game so I couldn't really compare it. You know?

    I loved it though! :)

  • What else was addictive was Side Arms. And nice Family Guy moment you had there.

  • Side Arms is a good shooter. I'll have to pull that one out next. :)

  • Man I remember the second levels boss use to give me a huge headache when i played this on the genesis.

  • Oh really? Was the Genesis version pretty much the same? I had heard it was.

  • This is one of the few games that I seen for the TG-16 with parallax scrolling or whatever they used to mimic it. I used to play this for hours and hours.

  • I remember being excited beyond belief about the multiple layers in the background when I was a kid. Wooo! :)

  • Apparently this system was incapable of doing parallax scrolling. So I was surprised when I seen this game with it's multi layered backgrounds. Unfortunately I had the sega genesis version first so this one was a bit of a let down. But that didn't stop me from playing it anyway.

  • This is one of my personal favorite shooters

  • It is pretty sweeeeet! :) :)

And very fulfilling when it's defeated!

  • You know, i must say that your reviews are really good and I enjoy watching them. Any chance of any more pinball reviews coming up?

  • As of right now, no. The pinball stuff is in another location and I can't really get to them. But, maybe some day.

    Thanks for watching!

  • Thanks for making the time to get back to me! I saw that the pinballs are elsewhere in one of your recent videos. When you do get to them, I look forward to watching. In the mean time keep up the good work with the TG 16 vids!

  • I am definitely going to buy this for my PC Engine when I get the chance. Hard and fast paced shooters are my cup of tea. :D

  • You'll love it. It's a great game!

  • Another great review, your editing is near perfection.

  • Thanks a lot! I try to do the best I can.......wish I had more time, to be honest! :) :)

  • You sound just like Family Guy's Peter Griffin there too heh heh.

  • I have to get this console, Shoot em' ups have always been one of my favorite genres! Great review, as always! Keep up the great stuff!

  • You definitely need to. The TurboGrafx has the best shooters.......and a TON of 'em.....

  • Another great review! :O

  • this should be released on the VC

  • Oh ya! Now this was a cool one with some stunning visuals and music. Levels 5 and 6 though were just insane.

  • I have this game, sooo f'n good

  • Fun game, wasn't there also a SNES version? This one looks great too though.

  • I don't remember a SNES version. But, the Genesis had a variation of it.

  • Yeah, that goes by the alternate name Air Buster for whatever reason.

  • He might be thinking of a game called "Phalanx", I think I got the name right.

It was that obscure shooter game with the banjo totting old guy on the cover.

  • LMAO "Load" lol, what were you thinking....as if you have to answer that :F.

Agreed, this is a wonderful game :D but hard as hell!
