heres a crazy idea... to support an artist you enjoy. they are working hard to make music, the least you can do is shell them 99 cents (don't break the bank) for creating something you enjoy.

Yes, it's good to support an artist, but as an individual, how is MY 99 cents going to make any difference ? It's a drop in the ocean. That line of thinking is exactly what hasproblem with the music industry these days... you may think "well me not buying this album/single will not matter... they already have a ton of fans". The only problem is too many people think like you do and before you know it, bands are losing out on 50% of the profit they should be making, which isn't fair IMO.
