  • Is it just me, or do they keep drifting down in tone? Sorry, but where the tenor sets in...that sounds horrible.

  • This is one of the most beautiful songs in the world and this is an incredible performance of it!!

  • Were singing this in our high school chorus. It's hard, but it's a great song!

  • i love this song chorus rocks

  • Shiver.......perfect song for our winter concert series! Wumbum!

  • @TinyTerrorPanda Alto killer...what? If this song is hard for you as an alto, I feel bad for you. I'm an alto 2.

  • we are doing this in our highschool choir 3 (the highest choir we have) even sight reading this we sounded pretty epic

  • whoo sphs advanced choir.

  • my varsity doesn't sing it this way...

  • We sung this at swmvf

  • @MarchingBand57 It's Heigh Ho

  • (Cont. from below) @kayla3048: As far as being an "easy" piece of music to sing, it isn't technically challenging to learn. Music, however isn't given beauty & merit because of how easy or hard it is to learn. Some of the most beautiful music I have sung has not been the most difficult...you will learn this if you keep singing. I performed this piece over 20 yrs ago & still remember it all. Notes on a page become a thing of beauty when life, heart and expression are breathed into them : )

  • This is beautiful. As a seasoned singer and actor who has studied Shakespeare extensively, I will comment on @thomaswaldrop's post: It is phonetically pronounced "hay-ho" whether you like how it sounds as "high ho" or not. In Shakespeare's time it was pronounced as such, so it should not be changed because the "ah" sound in saying "high-ho" is chorally more pleasing. Many of Bach's music is in German...not exactly the most beautiful language to sing, but what the composer intended!

  • Phenomenal job, great pitch and musicality.

  • i love this!

  • @thomaswaldrop no...its high ho....besides it sounds waaayy better with high ho....and we murdered this song...wen i get the recordin i will put it up and show it hey ho sounds weird

  • @kayla3048 my choir learned this song literally in one day,im not trying to brag or anything but this song is a super easy song to learn

  • @creeper244 You may have learned the song "musically" but you learned nothing on the meaning of the words.

  • Is there anyway I can download this as an mp3? Can you send it to me?? This is a beautiful recording!

  • Thanks for posting this up, I was part of this. I was the only female freshman to make the mixed choir, a girl in my class was the only female freshman to make the all woman's choir, we were both in the treble choir at MayField High School in Las Cruces, NM

  • My chorus is performing this peice this winter. I love it because the sopprano part (me) is so lovely yet still blends with the other parts beautifully ^~^

  • @ Zaft: It's pronounced "hay ho." Like weigh, sleigh, neigh, deign, feign, etc.

  • This is the first time i've heard the tenors sing louder than the basses. xD

  • for those none new mexican residents, this state has a lot of musical talent, expecially in my city of carlsbad. I judge with unbiased senses.

  • This is a nice recording. I've sung this song in two different choirs and "heigh ho" has always been pronounced "hi ho" not "hay ho"... I wonder what it's like on one of Rutter's recordings?

  • @GordonZaft I believe this ensemble has the pronunciation correct as I recall from my recording of John Rutter's Ensemble at Kings College. You can probably hear clips of it on iTunes or Amazon.

  • @GordonZaft Hay Ho

  • My choir listened to this performed at NMMEA All-State and decided to sing it this year. It is definitely one of our favorite songs!

  • My choir sang this song.

  • Does anyone have the sheet music to this song?

  • @tbeck702 you can order it from J.W. Pepper. If you Google it you will find a location nearest to you. I ordered it for my choir! This piece is part of a larger work but you can order the individual part.

    Good Luck!

  • We are going to do this song for the choir im in. i cant wait. it sounds amazing<3

  • I love this piece, I had only heard the orchestral arrangement before, but this is amazing!
