  • nice

  • The people in the end of the video have clearly been forced to say all that.. lol

  • My friend passed there driving test because during the independent part she tuke the wrong exit an ended up going down the easton primary in west midlands. There is no way to turn the car around there so you have to follow it all the way, by the time they got back to the test route there was no time for anything so they headed straight back to the test center did 1 manouver an got a pass. Maybe some of you should try this... Take a WRONG turn down a motorway or duel carriageway.... :)

  • @EnglishHighsociety Learners aren't allowed on the motorway idiot, that would be an automatic fail.

  • I dont see peoples problem with it, I've got my test in a week and this is probably the easiest part during my mock tests. You dont even have to follow their route, in theory you could just drive where you want for 10 mins and not get a single fault as long as you drive safely. I'd take this over an extra manoeuvre every time.

  • I like the music, very original!

  • I see no point in having this really, they tell you to follow signs somewhere in an area you're already quite familiar with. I live close to my test route so didn't even need to follow any signs..it was easy.

  • I passed!!! 9 minors though. :( The independant driving was no where near as bad as I though it would be.

  • Practical test tomorrow! :S

  • eu simplesmente digitei DSA e apareceu isso

  • These driving examiners are raking it in!

  • so if iwas to take a 1 or 2 wrong turns they saydont wrry about? so if i did take a few wrong turns what would happen?

  • I fail in my test because of the intependent driving , but in my opinion the instructor was wrong she took me nearly motorway in my indenpendent driving , I missed the roout and in aroundaboud I culnd turn left because if I turn left I go to the motorway and she filed me . this wanst fair .

  • What happens if, during the independent driving, you constantly go the wrong way? Will you get failed for that?

  • @TheBlueBanshee If you go off the independent driving route it won't affect the result of your test unless you commit a driving fault.

If you go off the route or take a wrong turning, the examiner will help you to get back on the route. You can then continue with the independent driving.

  • @dsagov Okay cheers, I have my practical on 23rd November! Can't wait :D

  • @TheBlueBanshee November 14th for me, The 2 months since I booked have flown by! lol

    All the best to you

  • Its called a GPS :p

  • How is 10 minutes of driving by yourself annoying so many people lol

  • do you have to do this in your cbt for a moped?

  • I found this one very very easy !!! didnt even realize that I drove for 10 minutes !!!

  • i wish i had done this, it would have helped me. i passed my test in september 2010, so i didn't get to do this but it looks beneficial. my brother passed 7 months later and i can kind of see the difference between ourselves when we drive to not so familiar places.

    PS:

a bit off-topic but doesn't the girl at 3:03 have a striking resemblence with mesut ozil? :D

  • This is SOOO weird it's in Bedford I was just thinking I know these places!

  • My test is in 2 days and I'm crapping myself about this part. I hope it's true that some test centers use pre-set routes for this section of the test for certain times of day.

Also, I've got almost everything down in my driving but my instructor tells me my main problem is I always stop just short at junctions etc. I can't see the problem where I'm going really wrong here as from what I see, I'm only 1cm behind the line.

Can someone run me through turning at a junction effectively please? :)

  • its not independent driving until you're sat in that seat on your own anyway, without the other person breathing in your ear watching everything you're doing. Directions or not. Terrible idea, as if the test wasn't daunting enough.

  • i just rode my 125 three hundred miles in one day without a sat nav or map, just followed the road signs without getting lost, why would i be any different in a car? Does something happen to me in the car that means i lose all sense of direction or i panic and change direction dangerously? Will it make me forget to check my mirrors and reverse hurriedly into the car following me? No it won't! So why is this in the test?

  • Bleugh...I have my test tomorrow and think this new thing is CRAP. Bloody hell - if it's to PREPARE US FOR THE REAL WORLD, then shouldn't we be allowed to drive ALONE BEFORE THE TEST??? Stupid stupid stupid.....STUPID.

  • I have failed my driving test 5 times...and four times it was because of observation major at a roundabout while independent driving...it has just given them more powers to fail you and mint money...If they are worried about 3000 people dying on the road why don't they subside driven test fee .... than charging £60 a test....

  • Failed my driving test today :(, 2 minors 1 major. According to the grumpy old examiner I had, driving 25mph towards an empty roundabout in a 30mph zone, with full observations is a fail. well thats 62 quid gone down the drain, why do females always pass first time and men dont.

  • @Jilksy101 Really. Men don't pass first time. My Other half did and other friends of mine have who are male. And you say for females passing first time. My friend took the test 10 times to pass, and she's rubbish at driving. I feel like I'm going to die when sat in her car. They should never let her pass her test. I think they felt sorry for her.

  • @Jilksy101 my dad passed his first time. he had something like 10 lessons then took his test and passed. i think it might be just you because alot of my dads friends and my friends dads passed first time.

  • passed my driving test using me own jaguar xtype 2.5..i got only 2points for over speeding.lol

  • The car she was driving was freaking massive... lol. I had a v small fiat 500. :D

  • passed mine a week ago, it was bloody nerve-racking. i couldn't imagine having to go through it more than once... But funnily enough i didnt have any problems with the independent driving, it rlly doesnt last that long.

  • This is pointless if you're familiar with the area you're driving in. My mate did it and was told where to follow signs to and he said I already know my way. I can't wait for my test tbh.

  • my exam is coming soon...Oh god Plese Pass Me,i spend a loat of money

  • i passed my test 2 weeks ago and i do like the independent driving it does make sense to have it as when you are by yourself you will using road signs

  • STEARING FUALT IN THE VID!

  • @123Broodwar

    Same goes for your spelling

  • yes!! i passed my test yesterday woohoo!!

  • the DSA has made over £400 out of me because they don't tell me when I need to turn left or right to get from A to B safely.

I have failed over 4 tests already, 2 due to stupid mistakes and the other 2 because of the reason mentioned.

I have another booked (no 5) on 22nd June. Please Pass me this time!

  • @adamkehoe73 i ve got mine too 22nd June ! Wish you good luck

  • most people who go on a route they dont know use a may or AA route finder..

  • i passed yesterday and i found the independent driving was SO much better than doing two manoueveres

  • Dumbest thing ever - I'm going to be so nervous on my test I won't even remember my own name, nevermind directions - totally ridiculous and just setting more people up to fail - I thought the whole point of a pratical test was to show I know how to DRIVE a car!

  • very exited my test on 11/06/11 hopefully ill do well.

  • @viewagraham how did you do? mines tomorrow!!

  • @viewagraham sameeeeeeeeeee

  • @viewagraham did you pass?

  • wow usually our instructors on our tests aren't as nice and if we ask " do i still follow this route?" most usually say "i didnt say turn of it did i? " or something like that..and we have to make our shoulder checks and mirror checks soo obvious we gotta practicly break our necks so they don't take marks off our test for not looking..

  • @akaSleepyPuppy Agree on the mirror checks,, i dont need to move my head to look in the mirror, but i have to make it OBVIOUS im looking, watch my freaking eyes then :)

  • What's wrong with just letting your GPS tell you, this is daft.

  • @GraveD1gger i tried that one on my instructor XD i was like 'so if it's independent driving what's stopping me whipping out a sat nav like every other driver would?' my argument was if i was ever gonna drive anywhere i had never been before, i would either a) Plan and memorize the route from google earth or b) Follow a sat nav lol needless to say 20 minutes of my persistent arguing did not make for a happy instructor haha

  • I thought that was a baby in the backseat

  • When having driving lessons they (the instructors) teach you how to pass a test, NOT how to drive.....

  • @dsagov this is ridiculous, it is putting pressure on you in a test situation that you really do not need. In the 'real world' you would stop, look at a map, have someone reading directions for you, and most importantly be relaxed. This is merely another way for the government to make money - more fails equal more tests.

  • @ZaraRave oh come on, it does prepare you for the real world! and it's also very common in other countries so you might aswell stop complaining

  • I get the whole it doesn't matter if I go the wrong way. But what happens if I do? Do they give me new directions, do I have to find my own way or is that it?

  • @SenseiWuzi If you go off the independent driving route it won't affect the result of your test unless you commit a driving fault.

If you go off the route or take a wrong turning, the examiner will help you to get back on the route. You can then continue with the independent driving.

  • Great encouraging line at the end...3000 people die on the roads, let's just make it one or two less!

LOL those triallists were all PAID ACTORS that read their lines off a script. The new test is a load of BS!

  • If it doesn't matter if you veer off the route then what if I just drive anywhere I want for 10 minutes? :) I still pass then yes? Even if I don't care about the destination? Go round a ring road route for 10 minutes with no errors? hahaha

This is ridiculous.. I have my Module 2 in 9 hours from now.. Erith MPTC.

I'll complain to the instructor after I pass. This is plain rubbish.

  • Every time I add a category onto my licence, I swear they've added to the test. I'm going in for a B+E category so I can tow a heavy trailer, and for some reason I have to do this! Been driving for over 5 years ffs, why can't I just reverse a trailer into a parking space, then do a turn in the road, bish, bosh, job done, gimme a licence. Instead I have to spend £155 and hours of my life just so I can tow a proper trailer!

  • passed my test first time :)

  • @formula1nh great! hw cum? ist tym? are u a female of male? most of d ppl i no dnt pass ist tym and dis is qit discouraging ! i ve mine on d 14th of june and am really nervous abt this . please hw did u work it out to pas ist tym? seeing ur comment has given a some courage dat i will pass ist time . bt hw many driving errors did u mak ?

  • This was the easiest bit on the test, not really sure what people are moaning about. If you can't drive on your own without needing to be told where to go then you probably shouldn't be driving at all!

  • I passed my test first time on 7th march in tolworth. The in

  • @2007dasola great well done i hope to pass first time too

  • thank God i just passed the test today! i actually didn't find the independent test very hard! its just because we are under a pressure while taking the test we tend to forget and lose our focus.

  • @millionbutterfly Well done congratulations.

  • in real world most ppl using satnav.......... Please keep simple for learners

  • dunno what all the fuss is about - just tell the examiner to stay at the test centre, have a nice cup of tea while you go out on your own for 40 minutes, return to test centre and get your pass! They will appreciate your concern for their well being and extra tea break!

  • dunno what all the fuss is about - just tell the examiner to stay at the test centre, have a nice cup of tea while you go out on your own for 40 minutes, return to test centre and get your pass!

  • I'm actually in favour of this.

    It's nice having a person sitting there telling you left and right, but when your doing for yourself, it becomes alot more daunting;

Yes, you can ask the examinor for the directions again, but if your by yourself what would you do? Whip out a map, which is what the examinor is doing!

This "tests" your skills about approaching, merging, good all round observation skills aswell, as you are doing for yourself. You will learn about what to do as your not prompted.

  • Lol what a waste of a addition HGV drivers have to pay £100 a year to keep their license and now there is this in a test...... Imn a hgv driver and we all get lost at times and miss signs its just what happens. Well Done DSA for finding another pointless addition to the test. I mean getting a driver to know his/her way round a car was pointless. If the driver cannot be botherd to read the car manul on how to look after it. Its their car that breaks down!!!

  • @danny27404 Independent driving is not a test of your orientation and navigation skills.

It doesn't matter if you don't remember every direction, or if you go the wrong way - that can happen to the most experienced drivers.

  • @dsagov So why bother with it? Instructors should be teaching this. At the end of the day you should be making sure the instructors are teaching correctly. People have this strange idea that when joining the motorway they have the right of way and love trying to push my 42 tonne truck over. If you want to make the roads safer make the student sit in a classroom for 5 days learning the highway code etc. You make us HGV drivers do it every year!!! at £100 a day.

  • @dsagov Yeah but I bet you'd probably still get marked down by your examiner for going the wrong way

  • @dsagov in the same way that eco driving is only a "sugestion"and people are obviously not failing for using the lowest gear possible

  • @danny27404 They are testing the ability of driving safely, and when people get lost that don't pull off a dangerous manouvre,

  • @danny27404 Knowing your way around is not the point of this part of the test danny, the point is to be sure that the driver can do what is needed when not prompted to do so. For eg if your told to turn left as a new driver thats a prompt to make you do you MSPSL routing (mirror signal position speed look). If you are not told to turn left but are simply following a pre determined route do you still do that routine.

  • I wander how we can swindle more cash from up and coming drivers? clue?

  • This is a total waste of time, they show you where to go, and tell you if you go the wrong way. Most people go the wrong way anyway.

  • @ACCESSVIDEO1000 Independent driving is not a test of your orientation and navigation skills. Driving independently means making your own decisions - this includes deciding when it's safe and appropriate to ask for confirmation about where you're going.

It doesn't matter if you don't remember every direction, or if you go the wrong way - that can happen to the most experienced drivers.

  • I think it needs to be improved somehow, every one I have spoken to say the instructors do not like the new test and most students go the wrong way, including myself.

  • @TripleXBEXXX WRONG! there are people who get extreemly nervous because they are being tested and go onto the road themself and find it alot easyer and drive very safe.. satastics are nothing to judge an iduvidual on.

  • I have done my test twice and I failed because i was so nervous I did things in the test that i never did in my lessons, i think this is another thing to make things worse because that would put me even more nervous!!!! now i have to worry about where i go and what happens if i do it wrong!

  • BIAS BIAS BIAS BIAS BIAS!!!

  • 1.51 .the examiner has a twist in his seatbelt. FAIL!!!

  • money making

to make you spend more on lesson's

  • They mean THE REAL WORLD by driving without anyone telling you prompted directions. Every trip is unique you just need to be safe. Nothing to do with DSA making more money as my learners love it and the pass rate has not dropped. Besides the cut the manouvers from 2 down to 1.

  • i hate this! real world??? im driving in a real car, in a real street, in real life during my lessons, this is just an excuse to change things again to make it difficult to pass. when i failed my first test (on the old style test) the examiner wanted to hug me?! please, i dont want your hug, i want a pass old man. lets hope i pass on this new style

  • when they say it introduces people to driving in the "real world" i wonder what they think we have been driving in while doing lessons and during the test itself because im pretty sure the same hazards are there lol

  • @Hsgilgil there are enough idiots on the road without making the test free! I took my test about 2 months ago and personally think it is TOO easy! I honestly don't think the Dsa are doing it to make more money, I say make it more difficult that way there are less people that can't drive properly (and fluke their test) on the road.

  • i got mine on feb at 8.10 am so early , ho god help me

  • what are sat navs for?

  • great

  • cessa

  • blalbla

  • If you indicate right but turn left lol is that a fail? I NEED TO KNOW WHAT ARE FAILS AND WHAT ARE PASSES. DSA won't upload videos with this information because if you fail they make more money... Why can't the examiner look at people who will obviously drive audi's LOL or say to them, What car are you looking to buy? ANSWER AUDI = AUTOMATIC FAIL LOL

  • @FakePlasticShrimp No, don't worry. Unless your putting someone in danger. DSA don't want to grab your money like people think. Read my comment below. Yeah if it helps, on a roundabout I accidently signalled left but positied right to turn. So you know mistakes happen. The examiner beforehand told where to go as well >.<

But no fail because I didn't put anyone in danger.

  • @FakePlasticShrimp yes that would be a fail i know someone that had to turn left and went straight instead that was a straight fail.

  • I Have Dyselxia, Im Nervous About Independent Driving

  • I just want to give the lowdown here. Today I passed my test with only two minor faults, in the beginning I was a crap driver. I thought that this DSA scheme was stupid, I was so wrong. This isn't HARD ITS EASIER! You only do 1 maneuver compared to the two done before. If you go off route (like I did lol) you DON'T FAIL.

Do lots of practise with your instructor. If you feel he.she isn't doing the trick for you get a new one, I DID and passed firs time. If slow learner passed u will 2!

  • Did this recently, and it was easy. Far easier than doing +1 manoeuvres, which is where lots of people fail, including me. Made the test much easier to pass ;)

  • Hi all

I passed my driving test a week ago. Regardless to what any ADI or DSA rep says, the driving test in the UK is a money making machine. The methods and instrutions that examiners want to see you do on your test, you will never use.

  • @raheemfaroo

    ridiculous

every learner has it so why have it?

    and the hazard perception.

CLEARLY a money making way and bias triallists ALL ACTORS!

  • @raheemfaroo Well said

  • @raheemfaroo If we didn't have the "money making machine" we wouldn't have the NHS or paved roads. Why does everyone think tax is bad?

  • @raheemfaroo While agree the driving test is a overpriced the skills you need to use on test you should also use the rest of your driving life if everyone did there would be a lot less accidents. Just because there is no one sat at the side of you telling you that you didnt put an indicator on doesnt make it ok not to there are reasons the rules exist. Course you having passed at the time of your comment a week ago makes you a great driver doesnt it? Six months later well gods gift no doubt.

  • @raheemfaroo

Isn't that like GCSE maths though? Most of the stuff you learn in maths from about year 8 onwards you'll never need, but it's important you know it in case.

  • got my second test tmoz, ... if its not cancelled due t the weather

  • do u have to do this even if u just want a moto bike or moped lic ?reply plz?

  • Failed my driving test 1st time .

    For not a good Reason . !!!

  • The DSA continously say the "most experienced drivers" may turn wrongly or "go the wrong way" so why the hell did they implement this?

The examiner is still there to emergency break if needed AND you can ask them to tell you the way AGAIN if you forget.

    This is certainly not independant..

  • @AnonRymal Independent driving is not a test of navigation. It's designed to assess your ability to drive safely while making decisions independently - this includes deciding when it’s safe and appropriate to ask for confirmation about where you’re going.

  • GLOBETROTTER!

.... i passed my test. Yusssss.

  • My advice for nervous people, (this worked for me and many of my mates) is to get in the car and for your whole test, just think that you have failed! My nerves were totally reduced and I passed. Good luck to my fiancé Leigh who has her test in the morning, I know you'll pass gorgeous, live you x x

  • @drewyization tru tok . it worked for me on my theory test day i made up my mind dat am going to fail it as it was my first time .. but wow i passed it with 48 and 56% in hazard .. best tin is nt to have lots of hope jst be calm

  • How many points out of the full driving test would you lose by not following the directions or going the wrong way?

  • @xBarbedWireHeartx If you go off the independent driving route it won’t affect the result of your test unless you commit a driving fault.

If you ask for a reminder of the directions, the examiner will confirm them to you.

  • @dsagov SO your fine if you drive where you like with no driving errors

  • @xBarbedWireHeartx None. If you go the wrong way or forget instructions it doesn't effect whether you pass or fail, and isn't worth any minors.

  • I have my test at 9:17, I will tell you all how it went. Wish me good luck!!!!

  • @AryaSS786 How did it go man?

  • @SodaHD not well i'd guess lol

  • this part of the test is really very simple. people need to shut up about it. its really a good way to boost independent skill. dsa are not dumb....

  • what?

  • dsa

  • lol i didn't learn to drive in driving school ...i said just give me the car and an open field at first so i can master the car in piece by myself without someone stressing me out and i did learned everything by myself..by the time i did my test i was a better driver than my instructor.....it was perfect.........to learn by yourself alone is the best way to learn everything

  • @21iunie It is important to learn safe driving practice from the beginning of your driving career because bad habits are hard to break.

It is unlikely that anyone except an approved driving instructor (ADI) has the experience, knowledge and training to teach you properly. Learning safe driving habits from the start will improve the safety of yourself and other road users.

  • @21iunie If you want to practise your driving with an accompanying driver, the accompanying driver must be over the age of 21 and must have held (and still hold) a full licence, in the relevant vehicle category, for three years.

As a learner driver you must display 'L' plates ('L' or 'D' plates in Wales) in a conspicuous position on the front and rear of the vehicle you are driving.

  • Help is here for learner drivers. Go to Facebook and look up 'I can't wait to pass my driving test' and you'll find a page with tips and advice, and discussion boards to chat to instructors and other learners. If you're on twitter you can also chat to Liz_DSA for pointers to advice.

  • Why is this on the bike test i have been riding independently on l plates with many hazards for 2 years waste of time and money. good for car drivers tho

  • What really gets me is that I can drive fine with either my parents or instructor (without any help, by the way), but when it comes to the test I get so nervous I can't concentrate, so I get failed! I don't think the test is entirely fair, but I don't see how else they can do it...got a test in a few weeks, so maybe this one will be different?

  • @LadyKhamoon It's exactly same for me! It's so frustrating because I know I can drive. Got my test again in the morning.

  • @LadyKhamoon Don't let the independant driving stress you out! Seriously, if you go the wrong way, the examiner will not fail you for it..! They'll just help you get back onto the right route.. I prefer having the independant driving than having two maneuvers.. So much easier. Plus it's only 10 minutes.. Good luck with your next test btw! You can do it.. :)

  • @LadyKhamoon - I have seen this so many times as an Instructor...perfectly good drivers failing through nerves. The ONLY student who beat this was my very first student 6 years ago. His father was a GP and he gave him acupuncture just before the test. Never seen a candidate so chilled out! Keep trying and best of luck...

  • I passed today with 3 minors.... This

    Test is so

Much more easier than the old 1 xxxx

  • I have my driving test at 8.40 today, i will update you all with how it went. Fingures crossed xxx

  • this is really good

  • I hear this test is easier than previous one, i took the one before this new one and had ten minors did 2 manouvers no problem, then just 2 roads away from test centre made serious mistake so failed :( so hopefully this time i get my pass as i don't want to wait months for another test and pay again either.

  • The confidence booster in this is horrifically bad.

  • i passed today with the independant driving.. i got totally lost ... but the examiner just directed my back on a test route ... :)

  • Hi guys I got my 1st driving lesson on Wednesday and my 1st theory test, i've been revising for the theory test and i've pasted 5 theory test papers in a row and, I was just wondering if anyone can tell me what type of questions you get?

  • @Concealed92 Hi there. Watch our 'Official DSA car theory test - Are you ready? (part 1 of 5)' video and this will show you what happens. Good luck with your first lesson today!

  • @dsagov - as an ADI, Ialways advise students to learn the Highway Code COVER TO COVER. Studing a bunch of DVD's and learning to 'pass a test' is simply not enough...

  • @Concealed92 :

I passed my driving test on 20th october. Independent driving is not as hard as we assumed. Its just like instructed one but with lesser instructions. I forgot, not once, but twice but my instructor didn't mind to tell me the road. Just think its old styled test with little changes. cheers

  • Is this something you can fail on if you don't remember the directions?

If not then couldn't you just keep asking where to go once you reach a junction or roundabout?

I don't know when they increased the theory questions to 50 people complained but I guess if you know it then you will pass right.

Is it true that the test centers have to fail a certain number of people each month?

  • @lastswordsmith If you go off the independent driving route it won’t affect the result of your test unless you commit a driving fault.

If you ask for a reminder of the directions, the examiner will confirm them to you.

All examiners are trained to carry out the test to the same standard, they do not have pass or fail quotas. So as long as you demonstrate the standard required you will pass your driving test.

  • I passed it today . it was exsuhsting

  • As long as they dont say somthing like this:

*BREATHES IN*turn left, then 2nd right, then another left, 3rd axit at the 2nd roundabout, take the 3 left, park safely somthing, go off when ready, take 4th right, 2nd left, 3rd exit at roundabout *BREATHES OUT* continue when you think it is safely to do so please.

  • i passed my driving test today im soooooooooooo happy !! :D

  • whos that man in the back LOL

  • I took the test today and failed with 7 minors and 2 majors, this was my 2nd time but I didn't fail on the independent bit! my first time was before the independent driving came and I had 9 minors 1 Major! I didn't even notice the independent driving cause my examiner said go towards (place name) second exit and didn't show me a map so it's alrite! but I hated my examiner cause he marked me for a serious for something I didn't do ( he braked for me twice when I'm already on the brake) Dumbass!!!

  • hi have an urgent question how will this work for motorcycles and if they ask you to navigate somewhere and you know the way can u go that way plz help

  • @stravnes They wil say "follow the sign to..", ofcourse there are a number of differant ways to get there, but you have to follow the road signs

  • I have my test on the 15th of November, hopefully this won't be a worry for me.

  • Can you ask them if you forget the direction, can you ask always, please let me know,

  • @Jhon7635 Yes - if you ask for a reminder of the directions, the examiner will be happy to confirm them to you.

  • @dsagov Thanks a lot, that was really helpful

  • @Jhon7635 i've just passed my driving test today. I asked him at a roundabout which exit should i take but he told me to follow the signs :(

    GooD LuCk

  • good luck to those who are taking their driving test

  • I had my test at 8am today and passed 1st time! The I.D was simple! I had a diagram "RIGHT TURN, STRAIGHT ON THEN LEFT, STRAIGHT ON THEN LEFT AT THE TRAFFIC LIGHTS" Then I just had to go over 5 mini roundabouts straight on! The I.D is obviously tailored to the area you live in so as long as your instructor is teaching you around the areas examiners use its easy!!

  • @GRIMLOCK84 was it easier doing your test early in the morning? what was the traffic like etc?? I have mine in a few weeks and mine is at the same time?

  • start which takes your eyes of the road for to long i no it sounds stupid but people like me with dyslexia and memory loss u havent fort propaly about this, i have my drivin 2 morrow and i aint expecting to pass at all

  • @MOR7Y07 DSA has procedures to identify special needs and disabilities when tests are booked online or over the phone. The examiner can then make a reasonable adjustment.

For independent driving this could be asking the candidate which method they prefer for the section – in other words, following signs, or a series of directions (a maximum of three) which are supported by a diagram approved by the British Dyslexia Association. In some cases this will be shortened to just two directions.

  • @dsagov shortend to two directions pfft, i failed my test today at cheetham hill test centre, andthey made me follow signs all round the city centre i wasnt given a map as they said they would i had to follow signs which i sed i struggle to read they said they noted this but didnt, so were was my support. i got 4 miners and i got 1 seriouse because my eyes were lookin at signs that i had to read which i struggled to do which took my cocentration from of the road. my instructer said i shuda pasd.

  • @MOR7Y07 You're just annoyed because you failed and are blaming DSA for it, and just because your instructor said you should pass it doesn't mean you will.

  • @MOR7Y07 HI DID U PASS MATE ??

  • what aloud of rubbish i have my drivin test 2 morrow im dyslexic and i have short term memory loss, so when im passing signs i forget them pritti much straight after i have passed them so they havent fort about that also, the map u given people you havent fort about that propaly u should have diffrent colours for each line that way when u need to look again at the map u can just have a quick glinse at a difrent colour line to no were u are on the map rather then lookin back to the

  • @MOR7Y07 Perhaps you should consider the possibility that people who demonstrate poor memory and an inability to understand road signs/maps maybe shouldn't be allowed to drive because they don't have the necessary skills. The DSA doesn't owe you a driving licence; the whole driving test is there to assess who has the skills to be a safe driver, not as a little formality for getting your pink card.

  • Great confidence boost at the end, '3,000 people a year die on their road less make it 1 or 2 less'.

  • i am gutted, i was meant to have my test today, i was a bag of nerves, only to arrive at the test centre with a huge nail in the passesngers front tyre, i could not go through with my test. I lose the money, but the worst thing is having to find another, prepare for it and go through those nerver allll ovvvver aggggain :(:(

  • @Roxybizzle all the best...:-)

  • My date with destiny is next week Tuesday... I just to improve my lane discipline.
