Ya know, ridiculous web acronyms aside., there is still this whole issue of privacy involved with facebook that actually IS serious. Marketers, insurance companies, HR firms, your boss, the government, etc.etc., having access to information you freely provide about yourself. It's about our physical 'profile' and our web profile becoming intertwined. We will be telling our kids about web anonymity and what it was like. I want my web-self and my personal self separate.

Facebook, like anything, has pros and cons, both sides being put forward by these videos, meaning that someone who has watched both can make an informed decision. People like this girl make me wish for an apocalyptic event that renders cell phones, social media sites, and indeed the entire internet inoperable. If anyone ever wondered how we could go from the "Greatest Generation" of the WWII era to people today who put emoticons in their college thesis, the inane use of technology is the answer and these fools will be addicted til death. The fact is this: no one cares. Facebook has been around for quite some time and it has had its negative effects.... but the point Ross was trying to make is this: it's a joke to him. Beyond all else, it's really sad that 99.9% of facebook users do commit to the ignorant stances... however, your battling his point... kind of makes you no better... because you're still happy and proud of the accomplishments that exist with the account that you have... even if they appear positive to you.
Like everything in life, facebook should be used in moderation. It actually make it easier to share stuff you like with your friends, movies, books,music. Hell, a high school student could know that FB is a great networking tool, that it only controls your life if you want it to. Also, something which Ross talks about that Emily didn't mention is that acronyms have been around LONG before FB and will last long after FB is dead.

@JNoshima92 The 1 problem I have with acronyms:It's not the fact that they are overly used on the internet.(ok,annoyed really,but not that big of a deal).The problem starts when people,in PERSON,use them rather than SAYING the actual words aloud.I shit you not,I work with a girl who does it.Instead of saying "Oh my God" about something,she,literally,says "O..M..G" The internet has spilled over into reality with these individuals.In the future,no one will say/speak words as we know it today.

That is going too far. However, I still think it's a leap to say they'll become fully integrated into our speech, and he says people will stop using them if they stop using FB, but that's not true. FB facilitates, it wasn't the original source. Even without it, people would still do it.

Look into her eyes, just the eyes. Do you see it? The "thing" that happened years ago and made her do these arrogant faces while responding to a guy who actually FELT what he said. This is why FB has got such a great appeal to people like her, 'cause she can improve herself at least on the outside. It is a great tool; a great tool for avoiding to change yourself from the inside and just retouch your image so that you can easily hide what's actually behind a profile picture with a smiling face.

The fact is this: no one cares. Facebook has been around for quite some time and it has had its negative effects.... but the point Ross was trying to make is this: it's a joke to him. Like everything in life, facebook should be used in moderation. It actually make it easier to share stuff you like with your friends, movies, books,music. Of course I rather discuss them over a coffee , but time doesn't always allow it. And for example I have relatives from other countries which i can talk to,share photos and other stuff for free.
