  • beastly man. Anyone who is bitchin', just try it foolz

  • Respect!! Home conditioning it's definitely the best thing to do.

  • ever heard of a wide grip CHINUP not pull up, turn your arms around, stop swinging and don't launch yourself^^^^ such an amateur

  • @hamishjohnson97 have you heard of the concept of specificity of training. more than one way of doing an exercise has more than one training effect. your one size fits all approach to training suggests that you are an amateur. i wonder if you can do anything even remotely physically challenging or your just an "armchair" athlete.

  • you got mail.

  • your going way to fast! slow the hell down, and do'm right!

  • Ignore the dummies posting negative comments. That was awsome buddy. Keep up the hard work. I don't know many people who can crank out that many. I can bang out maybe 20 on a good day.

  • that's 0 correct chin ups, hope this helps

  • @silentflight1 wow that really does help. its rare to find such a helpful comment on youtube these days.

  • ok this counts as arms fully extended. you dont have to go ALL the way down unless you do pull ups

  • Hey guys does anyone else get callouses on there hands after doing chin ups for a while?

  • @scottishboy1987, yep I sure do.

  • @dciguy01 I solved this lol moisturise youre hands daily and youll be ool!

  • dayum ^^ respect i only can do 20 :)

  • i can do 18 times when i don fully extend its about over 90 degree but when i fully extend i can only do once . Very big difference

  • great job man. but you do not do correct chin ups. becomes a lot harder when fully extending your arms.

  • Comment removed

  • You're wrong if you think plyometrics = less than full ROM.

  • @huggy3ear you cannot absorb to the end of the eccentric portion of the rom in plyometrics or you will be resting on a locked joint... losing the ability to exploit the stretch shortening cycle ( the whole point of plyometrics)

however the amount of reps i do in this video is too high for maximum rate of force development.

  • impressive, and way to go, but you're using your legs.

  • u didnt even do 1 real chin up dude you feet touched the ground every time u can rate this comment bad but it is true.

  • @udlsrule45 i don't mind if you think that, but its not true. check out my other videos, i don't lie in any of them about what im doing. whats the point ? its not like i'm going to get any rewards from it lol.

  • who does a perfect ass chinup everytime?

  • pretty good but not really going all the way down but fuck it haha

  • Don't watch the vid AND Comment if you don't like it!

  • Awesome stuff man!

  • why the negative comments ?

  • not only did you not do 1 chin up... your feet touched the ground everytime.

  • nope they didn't touch the floor :) read the description.. plus this isn't training i just filmed it because some one was interested, i actually don't even do unweighed pull-ups.

  • good job man

  • What a waste of my time. Quantity over quality won't get you the results you want, and to anybody with a trained eye it's as amateur as it gets.

1st: You don't extend your arms nearly enough before pulling up, your elbows look like they're at 90 degrees

2nd: You drop your reps! You don't lower yourself, you just drop, which is a shortcut that skips the eccentric contraction (most of the work). You're just short changing yourself.

I'd be surprised if you could do 10 of my chinups.

  • i can hardly be botherd to respond to this because i have explained it before.

when you do plyometrics you deliberatly do teh eccentric portion as fast as possible and then explode up. you cant do that at full lock without damaging your elbows.

plyometrics train speed and power. when i want to do strength i do slightly slower from full lock with weight, 5RM 5x4/5

i dont usualy do chins to failure this was just a test, but they are plyometric style

  • second that man

  • good form warriors. Im so sick of you.

  • what is this shit??????

  • dont watch it if your not interested in strength trianing and conditioning

  • I respect your video. You are trying to do the most reps you can do using everything, like your legs swinging in the last reps. I don´t see any problem if you are just trying to determine it. So I think that the title is right. keep going brother.

  • wow astolthree. i think you must be god so dont waste your time writing comments to 'shame losers'. have a nice day.

  • haha, shame wat a loser, the way he swings his legs is making it easier to pull up, plus the fact that he is not goin down to a dead hang, this guy is clearly wasting his time, i just tried and using this technique i aquired 42 chinups, however done properly i can do only 25-30, there fore my workout is better cause i dont waste uneccesary time to do more, when i can do less, but get more out of it by not swinging

  • maybe you are training for a different thing to me. im doing plyometric pullups for my speed and power. and then i do 5x5 RM weighted pullups for strength.

you must be training for endurance.. i cba with that. i only did this once to see how many i could do

  • haha. what douche you are

  • I'm not saying that I could do what he just did, but he was swinging his legs so much on the last 15 that he was relying more on momentum to get him up than arm strength.

  • its ok, better then most people posting it up, but u hve one thing in common, ur not going all the way down, ur arms shouldnt b bent at all, they should b completely straight.

  • Not bad but not great. 85 is a lot. The record is 644 in one hour. video worthy is 100.

  • they werent all the way down and besides real pull ups have your palms facing away from you. you would think it would be the same but its quite a bit harder

  • YEah I know, but he gave it his best shot.

  • Those were not all the way down. But good effort.

  • Not bad. I can do about 25 as of right now without swinging. Check out my vid i did 22.

  • Cool.

I can do 22 myself, and i thought it was alot cause my friends did like.. 3, or 4. But i like seeing this things cause it shows me im not even good yet. SO, gotta train more.

By the way, sogho32b5 and who knows hat other numbers, is an ass

  • Hey dude nice job. I can only to 6 at a time right now, I've been stuck there a couple weeks. I try them three times a week and usually go for a few sets. I'm wondering do you have any advice on someone who wants to increase their numbers?

And this isn't easy, come on now, 30 takes a little while to get to in my opinion.

  • Don't know why so many people watched this, this is easy..

  • i think its just people search for videos about pullups or somethign. also i have a few subscribers so they all watch most vids i put up i think.

  • that explains it, thanks

  • Why do people give stupid comments on this video? Or am i missing something? But do you advise chin ups over pull ups for muscle up training?

  • i do abit of both just to be all round. but both target different muscles. just look them up on wikipedia

  • thoose are easy

  • looks like kipping pull ups

  • waste of time....

    totally useles.....

If you want a back do some weighed widegriped pullpups:)

  • how is it useles?

and i never said i wanted a back lol

  • why are you doing chins?

  • just to see how many i could do. i dont do normal chins or pullups for trianing

  • why do you have another account?

  • because i dont want to clutter up my proper one with pushup videos. these are for my friends mainly who ask me what exercises i do

  • You should you yours palms out. Im 14 and I can do 21 the way you did it in one go but if your palms are out then you are working more muscle and it is a little harder to grip. THe most I have done that way is 19.

Good job though. YOu should get the floor next time. It almost looked like your were jumping.

  • yea wen im trianing i do the ones your tlaking about :D there much better for parkour trianing i think

    peace

  • i'm pretty sure that his legs never touched the ground. you can tell by the way he moves them after coming up that it wasnt a motion of force but an upward thrust. Not! a jump.

  • HAHAHA WTF! Why am I the only one observant enough to notice this abomination! Hes not swinging his legs, hes jumping off the floor. Why does it not show the floor or his legs for that matter. Yall think his techique is off? You dont even know! Just look at how tall he stands at the end and tell me his feet arent on the ground for every pullup. This video is bullshit you fake pussy.

  • lol yeahhhh. 30 pullups isnt even good why would i fake it. if i was gona fake it id probz do more. chekout some other vids of mine i fyou want

  • u wrong bro... hes not fake n not touchin da ground we could see dat.. i thnk u noob in pull-ups but dat guy is a pro

  • My what a gimp you are. why don't you post a video of you doing the same with your perfect form, or maybe a back doubletwist for that matter. Twat.

  • seriously you are like a monkey on that thing! impressive display of strength and endurance!

however try doing more proper chinups to really build up those biceps by coming straight down and locking your elbows, then as you go up refrain from kicking your feet, try crossing your feet and really pull yourself up with your upper body strength.

    Keep up the good work!

  • im 12 and jus got a pull up bar at my house abou a month ago. I can do eleven, and about 3 with one hand

  • sure you can

  • I think he means three with one hand, and the other hand assisting. One handers are different to one armers.

  • honestly if you can, thats good, if you can do one arm pullups overall thats mad, let alone 3. if you can do 3 one armed ones then youd be able to do a hell of a alot more than 11 with two, haha. good stuff if you can though

  • um until 28 or so it was 80% of a chin up then it went to about 50% and JayZ4life i not only tried these but can do 40 chin ups and 40 pull ups with full extension and lock out between reps

  • whoot...not bad!

  • ok, before you comment on technique try do it yourself, and before you go bullshitting actually do it. This is pretty impressive and in my oppinion his technique is fine

  • those r chinups and he is showing wrong form by not going down all the way to locking his elbows.he is also using his legs 4 momentum.u shud try doing them correctly and seeing how many u can do.

  • wow

do you do this exercise every day ? !

  • nah i never realy do that kinda thing

  • good job ;)

how can I get one of those pullup bars? Do they attatch to the inside framework of the door or what? I don't want to put marks on the paint, but just curious where I could get it / how it works ^_^

  • You can just to a sporting goods store that sells work out equipment and ask for a door frame pull up bar.

  • Thanks! (I have two usenames) :)

I'll be sure to get one ^_^

  • go all the way down pussy.

  • i dont see ur ass doing anything so stfu pussy

  • Wow.. i can do 3-5 max ... lol.

    i really should condition more.

  • Uhm.. Ok first things first. You were kipping, meaning you were using momentum to get up. Also those are pull ups, not chinups. Chin ups are harder then pullups. Lastly you werent doing full reps, but you already have recognized this =p.

  • ok first things first.. read the discription and

im prety sure your the wrong way round with chinups and pullups but its not realy a set definition eather way. i think its actualy chinups with pronated grip or the opposite of that wich i cant remember

  • Erm, if your gonna post something, please put it into a sentence or something. I cannot read your sentence, but if you reword it or at least make it readable, I will respond.

  • basicaly if you read the description and understood what plyometric ment you would realise that i dont want to do a full range of motion. im not trianing so that i can say.. "woo i can do loads of pullups". im training so that im powerfull and strong for parkour. watch my vids on my bobbyatopk account and u will see wat im trianing for.

  • Ahh I see now. Thanks for clearing that up, I don't like it when flame wars explode caused by a misunderstanding. But STILL, those aren't chinups. I recommend chinups instead of pullups because yours hands will be facing away from you on both pullups and muscleups, since you DID say your going to "learn muscleups" through this exercice.

  • yeah your right the other way rounds better, especialy for climbing and muscle ups.

i do both any way. infact.. i hardly do them palms facing these days.

  • Lol well anyways, that was still a nice show of strength, good job man. Btw how long you been training? Cause im going around comparing myself to others to see if im behind physically or anything. Im 14 and weigh 145-150, can do 16 chinups, and almost 30 psuedo planche pushups (not cheating type)... Is that good for my age and stuff, or average?

  • yeah prety good man. but you should not do that many pseudos. if you lean them abit further so that you find it more difficult try and do about 5 or 6 difficult reps. because your suposed to be doing it more for sholder strength not endurance

  • Yah ok that makes sence. I've been concentrating on just strict form i forgot about that hehe.

  • You say those aren't chin ups, but then say that your palms will be facing away on pull ups.

If his palms were facing away they would be pull ups, so what is he doing in the video?

  • Hehe ya I see it now, just a typo. You wouldn't know how many times I went back and had to delete "chinups" and replace "pullups" and vice versa before i posted a comment cause i type too fast i guess lol.

  • is there any pull up videos were some one is not cheating, this is not the worm its pull ups

  • good job :)

  • Bouncing with your legs dont count at the end.

  • you're supposed to extend your whole arm, dont keep it bended.

  • Great effort - for mor echin up stuff, search youtube for '32 chin ups'.

  • why don't you go all the way down? I've heard it developse the muscles fully but most people don't do it. Why? Maybe I'm wrong?

  • yeah you normaly should go all the way. if you dont its not training te full range of motion. but i usualy do plyometric ones so im bouncing of my muscle at th ebottom instead of locking out. it makes you faster

  • And so what...?

You are so interesting in doing this... ZZzzz

Thanks to you and your great show, I'm someone else!

  • yo man its ok if you dont like my videos :) you dont have to ! i just wanted to show how my chinups are comeing along because it gives some people abit of inspiration and some people were interested on how many i can do.

    peace

  • You're right, if I don't want to see some videos, I don't have to do it.

    Sorry for the trouble!

  • no trouble man

  • that is a great workout, how did you train to get so many reps? I guess you used gtg, right? tell me your secret, please.

  • lol ur msn keeps going off, but nice work, keep it up

  • not bad but you should see how many reps you can get with full ROM and palms facing away. My record is 22

  • i can hear u on msn hahahaha

  • bad form

  • what is your max on full chins mate?

  • Ahh, ok. Thank you very much.

  • This might sound retarded but can anyone explain what a "dead hang" pull up is?

  • like from when your arms are lockd

  • hey man! don't forget sign out your msn!!!hahaha it's no chating time .... rememba: Is pain leaving the body time!!! I think with music is much better!.. see yaa bro!

  • haha :P

  • uhh... the form is not too good at all,

    1. You do not go down to a dead hang i.e. your range of motion is very limited

you will find when you do go full, at first instead of 30 you maybe able to do 12 with that tempo, since your motor neurons have not been trained for it

    2. Your tempo is way off, you've heard of time under tention right. In this case is limited, Try a full 30 second up and 30 second down pull up

    3. Work on keeping your core stable, Other then that you got potential,

  • thanks for the advise. but if i where to do it that slow i would not be training speed or reactive strength. and i specificaly train for gymnastics and parkour not for size and looks.

infact i dont actualy do pullups or chinups realy. i do one arm chins and pullup claps

  • Yeah, you're right about the form business. But I don't really mind. Dead hang is probably the best way to train and improve, however, I don't really have the patience to watch 31 slow dead hang chin ups.

Now about the leg swing. Is it a good idea or not? Generally I just cross them and let them hang as to not use them for momentum, but alot of people seem to use them a little bit.

  • You're supposed to go down untill your arms are straight but still good job

  • I dont think anyone has a general definition of chinups and pullups.

chinups for me and most everwhere i go are with your palms facing away from you face. pullups are palms facing you.

    and then it just switches!

is there any defnitive way to name them?

  • i dont realy know. according to wikipedia it is. but i guess language just progresses as people start using the word for a certain thing so now it probaly is the way you said it

  • nice video bobby - the easiest way to solve the naming problem is think of all the one arm chinning guides (chin up) i think i have only ever seen 1 video of a 1 arm pull-up

  • hey bobby - check this video insane plyo

    /watch?v=e1-t8dkpjrc

  • General definition: Pull ups are with your hands / palms facing away from you. Chin ups are with your hands facing towards you. Although the term pull up can be used loosely for chin ups as well.

  • Chin ups are the easy ones, palms facing you.

  • i was dissapointed when i clicked and saw you doing half ass chin ups... not impressed anymore

  • ok

  • the thing is you started kinda good, not bouncing with your legs and with arms getting stretched, then you lost complete form.. even those are twice what i can do bouncing with my legs so keep it up..

  • lol yeah they do get worse and worse. quite natural though i think

  • yes it is, but try to do as many as you can (maybe 20) in a perfect form and go from there, cuz its better to do 20 perfect than 30 or 40 lousy ones.. do you go to the gym? (like weight lifting) or just full body exercises like this one? (or the ones on your vids)

  • just body weight for me. and parkour training alot.

  • ohh cool.. i train parkour too but i am trying to focus on strenght right now so i can improve faster

  • awesome :D thats the best way to go i think. practis your technique by drilling small stuf and realy thinking about how you should be properly doing it. and then getting realy strong with conditioning. then when you wana do something big you have the strength and skill

  • yes i will do that thanks..

  • Whoa, cool. I've watched your other videos, how long have you been training? And how tall are you?

  • im about 5ft6. i think it may be a slight adavantage to be short. but i have seen some prety sick vids of tall people who are much better than me. i have only been training for about 3 years though. but quite a heavy amount of trianing.

  • answer the damn msn plz ok ty

  • unless you're like 5 feet tall you cheated by bouncing off the floor see at the end where you get off the bar you barely move down, also not extending far enough, and doing chin ups which aren't even pull ups.

  • why the hell would i do that. it wouldent even train me at all. and if i was going to do that i would do more than 30... 30 isnt even that many chinups.

  • first of all, these are chin ups. not pull ups. they work totally different muscle groups. having your palms facing out is a pull up, which works your back.

either way, you were cheating. and had terrible form. so you cant count it.

  • i cant count it as the same type of chinups as your talking about. i should have been more carefull with the words i used in the title i guess. but they were suposed to be plyometric chinups. you cant lock out with plyometrics or it would defeat the point and you are suposed to do a little kip with your legs to get the bounce

  • plus then again i'll probly stick to those dips i told you about

  • yea I do over grips and chins at least when I have acess to a bar but didn't know that pulls worked your back delt

  • hey bobby, what exactly do pullups work?

  • i biceps and back of delts mostly.

i prety much dont do them this way any more though. i do over grip ones and one arm chins

  • damn thats a lot at one time i can only do 12 at a time

  • dont wory 12 is prety good keep doing it and you will progres fast

  • Kipping pull-ups

Kipping pull-ups are used to increase the total number of repetitions as well as rhythm and coordination. They may be used to maximize power output (work per unit time) in their metabolic conditioning workouts, accomplished mainly by swaying forward and backwards and harnessing this momentum on the back swing to do a pull-up in the back. Those more experienced with kipping pull-ups will often be able to do these without bending their legs; these are true kipping pull-ups.

  • look at my pull up video and drool homie, im doing dead hang pull ups wide grip over hand and i max out at 35

  • nice one. although im only in competition with my self. i only want to improve my self for parkour & help other people get in to this kinda thing if they need exersizes/ motivation/ any help in general. thats why i get loads of emails from people asking for advise and i try to help them to the best that i can

so i wud apreciate it if people stoped causing arguments here and get on with your training how you want to do it...

  • worst form I've ever seen in my life. you're getting about 30 degrees of range in your rep. it's still impressive, though.

  • you did 0 pullups

  • and he moved his legs too

  • i got one of those bars the other day, and i can only do like 5, so 31 is pretty impressive.

  • awesome keep practising. look up front levers and back levers too thats a cool trick to learn on pullup bars

  • lol what?

  • Pretty darn impressive! I know this doesn't sound like much, but I did 7 in a row.

  • nice one keep doing them :D

  • Don't do that with your legs, keep them imobile while doing the exercise, this must be done for two reasons:

One: It makes you do the exercise incorrectly.

Two: You look like you're having sex with the air.

  • read about the stretch shortening cycle and plyometrics

also about reactive strength. im not trianing for size at all

  • this pull up is wrong, because ypur hand must be turn otherwise
