DREDG is pretty much the best band in the world. My Favorite! only band Ive seen live where the singer sounds as good if not better than on his recordings. He is a natural and everyone in the band contributes to the emotion, the message, and the thought. LOVE THEM!

Personally, I love both Tool and Dredg. Maynard does not "require" a talkbox or anything to add effects to his voice. He adds them to certain songs, but doesn't always use them. I thinks it's stupid to compare Gavin and Maynard, because they both have different singing styles. Both bands are fucking great!

It's natural. I do it all the time. I can hear elements of many older bands, in any new band's sound. It's simply the inspiration and progression of music through the years. Nothing wrong with it. With dredg, I can certainly point out some similiarities to other groups, but overall, they definetly have their own unique sound, and are quite hard to categorize.
