It's like once you get past mid US the fish aren't gettin as big but soon as you hit the finger lakes / canada region they explode again.

That fish is the world record Rainbow Trout and not caught in any state in the U.S. The Fish was caught on Lake Diefenbakker in Sask Canada..my home province. Do a search of "fishing geeks" and they have a bunch of raibows over 40 lbs. Some say they were escaped farmed rainbows but this is impossible to prove.

Are there no rules definiing a real trout? If not, then it's easy to design a high elevation lake on the equator for an endless growing season. The lake would be designed for a slow swimming forage fish. The next step is to stock a low number of triploid trout already grown to a size where they are piscivorous.. Finally a turbine is installed to pull water through a trap to feed injured forage fish to the trout. This can be found below some dams. Now does that sound fair to you guys?

Trout from lake deifenbaker escaped the net pen during a windstorm that tored a hole in it at the hatchery at about 2-5lbs. Since then they have been gorging themselves on bait fish and sharing the lake with pike and walleye. They are triploid fish which dont reproduce but they are not pellet trout. They have survived in the lake with pike and walleye for long enough to reach +30lbs from 5 lbs. If they can fend for themselves against 2 of the apex predators of gamefish. I consider it 100% legal

actually they have done testing and that fish was not a triploid fish from the hatchery. it was a natural fish. I just got back from Lake Deifenbaker a few weeks ago and the fishing there is amazing that lake is absolutely polluted with fish. really nice walley fishing and i caught a 17 1/2 pound pike

i totally think its a legit world record for a triploid.
but Rainbows that are fully capable of spawning should be put in there own record place. just like how a steel head doesn't count as a rainbow but is in it's separate record place.

[READ THIS] these fish are genetically different i remember this was in the news theres a lake fulll of these giants but the reason the get so big is because instead of wasting energy mating they grow so those huge rainbows are unfertal they were debating on wether it should be a world record or not for tha reason

Trout from lake deifenbaker escaped the net pen during a windstorm that tored a hole in it at the hatchery at about 2-5lbs. Since then they have been gorging themselves on bait fish and sharing the lake with pike and walleye. They are triploid fish which dont reproduce but they are not pellet trout. They have survived in the lake with pike and walleye for long enough to reach +30lbs from 5 lbs. If they can fend for themselves against 2 of the apex predators of gamefish. I consider it 100% legal

in the hatcheries they fed rainbows fish food and thing to make the really big for restaurants but some got away so that rainbow is not a naturaul fish sure its big but its not a real trophy

Great fish. I do these fish should be disqualified from the record books as they are unnatural, nonspawning, genetically altered fish. It would be like raising a huge record in a pond then letting it go to be caught and recorded in the books.

actually they have done testing and that fish was not a triploid fish from the hatchery. it was a natural fish. I just got back from Lake Deifenbaker a few weeks ago and the fishing there is amazing that lake is absolutely polluted with fish. really nice walley fishing and i caught a 17 1/2 pound pike

Funny thing is, the one brother broke the world record then the next day they went out fishing the other brother broke his brothers world record. then a few days later, bam the other brother broke the world record.
It was one insane week. It was all over the paper. Btw if anyones curious this was caught in Lake Diefenbaker, Saskatchewan.

these fish get so big because they dont waste energy trying to reproduce. all the line records they hold are legit because they recognize these fish as records even though they dont reproduce. they escaped from a fish farm that was damaged by ice and went into diefendiefer in saskatchewan canada.
