  • the intro is totally necessary, buckethead liked the intro to the original so much he felt the need to add to it. the intro to a rock song is important sometimes.

  • Why not cut a separate track of the opening solo and give it a different name?

People would know what they're about to listen to.

Just sayin'.... the opening solo is clearly not anything close to a cover of "20th Century Boy." The cover starts at 2:07.

Tacking the solo onto the cover insinuates "T-Rex Brought you here, now I'm going to trick you into listening to my music that is nothing like what brought you here unless Buckethead brought you here, in that case, stop the track at 2:07."

  • 2:07 and onwards (the actual cover track) is pretty cool. Nonetheless, he gets a bit egregious with the scales, and the cover song gets lost again at 6:04; however, I understand that the egregious cacophonic solos are what Buckethead is all about.

This might be "good Buckethead," but, admittedly, I don't have the ear for it.

  • 19 dislikes shortened the damn solo

  • @123elvisman Go suck some coen

  • Who is singing?

  • Well, he's managed to suck the life out of this tune!

  • Let's all calm down, and realize that I am the greatest guitar player of all time. No need for fighting against each other about whether Buckethead is good or not.

  • This is more like free jazz, with its forward-thinking style and endless mutations. I would love to see how Buckethead improvise, that'd be great. Reminds me of Zappa.

  • That has Pinchface singing....I had no idea he could sing so well.

  • I make high quality Buckethead Music Videos, Come & take a peek =)

(I hate singers like this under Buckethead's Art of Guitar, They don't belong)

  • Buckethead invented electrical magnetic inciendaricalified atomalistic, radioactive acid soundwaves that kill bugs.

  • OK it's Snatch...

  • Yeah this is just bad. the whole cover album is.

  • oh and so everybody knows SHITONASTICK1100 listens to the jonas brothers HAHAHA!!!! are you a girl?

  • u wanna c me hit random notes? Buy me a guitar and il give it a go.

  • @SHITONASTICK1100 haha!! these aren't random dumbs, there called "Scales"... was that too fast? S C A L E S... like the ones on your back troll!! and yeah if you can hits notes with his accuracy, clearness, and speed ill buy you a guitar. Or maybe you should stick to guitar hero.

  • @Nevanator7 My god are you tone deaf or just dumb as fuck? listen to it........... I tried to listen to it again to c if i was being harsh but jesus christ it's bad. no one in the right mind can say that they would listen to this out of choice. One more thing, I've never played guitar hero and probably never will. I guess ill just stick to my trex version.

  • @SHITONASTICK1100 okay since your soo superior to everyone why don't you show us better? If your not into buckethead that much then you should not comment "is he been serious it sounds awful" obviously he is being serious, dun bass! There is no person that can pick up a guitar and play "random notes" with such finesse. i'd put money on it, lets see you shred that good. I'm not saying i can but I want you to respect all music, whether its "random notes" or deliberate notes.

  • definition of music:

The art of arranging sounds in time so as to produce a continuous, unified, and evocative composition, as through melody, harmony and rhythm.

Note that this arrangment of noise lacks all points of this definition. This is my last post. Live long and prosper

  • @SHITONASTICK1100 ur dum the definition of music is the munipatation of sound over time. I will live long once ur off my ass

  • @SHITONASTICK1100 There are different kinds of music -.- This is definitely not random NOISE, if u appreciate such music u will know how clear and awesome the solos are. Im still trying to accept the 'songs' that are out now -.-

  • @SHITONASTICK1100 Im a BIG fan of what is most definitely called "music" under your definition: Mozart, The Beatles, blah blah...ect. But I dismiss your definition as a box you want to put music that you approve of in. Music can be just about anything. Same as any art, it knows no limits.... your a nerd. :) No offense. BTW Dont get butt hurt over critical comments. It's just peoples opinions, just as you have yours.

  • @SHITONASTICK1100

congratulations, you just called jazz unmusical. "unified" ever heard of polyrhythms and polymeters? "arranging sounds" who said music has to be arranged? ever heard of improv? watch?v=8o_yoDfYdz8 this was an improv, but it's still extremely beautiful and very musical in every aspect of the word. your definition of music is disgusting.

  • @Fluffypopcicle I agree with you jazz, improvisation and the jam between Govan and Casswell are brilliant but the notes are arranged in such a way that they sound pleasing to the ears and agree with the chords. Good musicians know what note they are hitting before they hit it, they sing melodies in their heads arranging sounds before we hear them. Jazz and improvisation if done properly are an arrangment of the correct notes over a progression.

  • @SHITONASTICK1100

it doesn't matter, it still contradicts your original "definition" of music which is completely phony anyways. there are no chords to be played to here n the intro and part of buckethead's identity is just being and sounding weird. i like the sound of it, i think it sounds interesting. just because you don't like it doesn't mean it's not music.

  • @Fluffypopcicle Go ahead listen to this "music"......... and do enlighten me of your definition.

  • @SHITONASTICK1100

music = progressive noise made for the enjoyment of the person making it, performing it, and the ones listening to it. everything you hear is noise so when somebody says "this just noise" that doesn't mean a thing. some "noises" sound better to people than others.

  • is he been serious it sounds awful

  • @SHITONASTICK1100 Post a video of you playing it beter.

  • @Qkumber1 It loses the point of the original....imo

  • i keep expecting something to blow up

  • This song was originally performed by T-REX who also played Telegram Sam, this alst was covered by Bauhaus.

  • I love Buckethead, but this is overthinking a great song and fucking it up. To me it sounds like somebody practicing licks over a tune. Of course he SHREDS, but this is shit.

  • Buckethead can dur supshmish up in the toy.

  • Can someone tell me why this album is called great jewish music?

  • @partlyshady a jewish wrote the song

  • @partlyshady Its was back in the years of me uncle ACHgmed in the great war of the insects from planet slunk when they invaded, a man named Mare Bolan wrote this song in his basement when the Abombs flew over head and boom buckethead discovers it and changes a few things...I think you got it

  • Singing credit actually given to Pinchface on this track. But I don't know...

  • I can't find any freakin' documentation on this album - it's like it never happened!

    1. Poor Marc Bolan. LOL

    2. Do we have any proof this ISN'T Big B singing?

    It almost...sounds like...it...could...be.

    Anyone?

  • no, buckethead sounds way different than this, and hes not that good of a singer. listen to danyel by buckethead

  • how the hell do you know buckethead sang that song? there is no evidence.

  • yes there is. you have the album? look in the credits. it says herbie on vocals for danyel. which if you knew anything about buckethead, you would know that that is his hand puppet, which he uses to speak when he feels intimidated. also, ive heard him talk in other places, and thats definitely him.

  • ps, i didnt mean it to sound like you dont know anything about buckethead, im sure you know about herbie and all, i was just saying.

  • @fallios As far as i know Pinchface sang in this song.

  • whats that pic from

  • 6:07 ..?

  • lol great jewish music: marc bolan. T. rex gg!

  • I don't know about anyone else, but I think the 20th Century Boy riff is really cool, so I think I would've prefered it if there wasn't a solo between EVERY verse, I think just Buckethead playing the riff would be awesome.

Just my opinion, so don't go mad =)

  • You lie, look up "Buckethead Danyel" if you want to hear Buckethead sing.

  • He does. check out search for "Buckethead - Danyel" There Buckethead sings.

  • Buckethead is singing?

  • crazy guitar part!!!!!!!

    i like it

  • Lol? Why would he 'stop playing just one time,' there wouldn't be a song.

    Shut up and leave, thanks.

  • noob

  • BUCKETHEAD rocks!

  • okay, Buckethead isn't Jewish. He plays on tracks for other artists because he's nice like that.

  • The Good bucketh playeth the good bucketh

    makes our heads explode

  • hes jewish?

  • this isn't rare at all, it is on iTunes. It's a tribute to the great lead singer for the band T-rex, Marc Bolan. Great cover.
