Internships, even if you do have a degree. If you can't find one locally you may have to venture out of state or even out of country. Not only do internships give you experience but also give you contacts and references that many employers look for. Sometimes just have a letter of recommendation from a top employer that you did an intership for may help you land the job regardless of what the rest of your resume has to offer.

Also, PLEASE include that resumes (80%) of companies are using resume scanning, and the computer reads a resume FIRST ! --reading the NAME first.

Please talk about how to place key words in a resume, so that the computer scanning picks up on the key words. Than also, what front the scanner picks up on, and DO NOT use bold or underlining. So, your example in the picture, get rid of the lines and the bold print and use ARIAL FONT!!!!!!!

I'm not sure I agree with many of your statements. There is NO formula for a successful resume. In addition to typo free successful resume needs to be two things:

1. Understandable

2. Capable of briefly identifying who you are.

I am a "creative writer." Really? no it isn't. How about adding color to the resume so it stands out and then describe and provide example of how you are. As a creative writer I lead a major re-branding project for company x's social media presence which resulted in 50% growth YOY in engaged users. Or, I have been published or I have written articles for xyz blog.... something that actually proves you are a creative writer... Most of this advice is just BSing language. Proof is in the pudding.
