  • Awesome and I don't even own one lol

  • tnx bro'

  • amazing sound ! sounds very dirty. The last album of britney spears, have a lot of this saw wobble bass

  • I've got to say, you're definitely the best EMX/ESX user on youtube, thanks to you, I've ultimately decided to buy an ESX, I was planning on getting it, but, I wasn't nearly as stoked about getting it until I saw your vids, you're the only one I've seen who seems to know how to use the things. Keep 'em comin' man, I'll be watching.

  • hey man can you do a dubstep tutorial by doing a full bea step by step and how you went about putting it all toghter

  • can you do the same thing with Korg ESX-1? I understand that it is the same as EMX-1 but has additional capability of sampling.

  • @AviEdelson It has sampling capability, but lacks built in sounds and synthesizers

  • It would be awesome if you could show, how to do this on a synth.

  • great video!!

  • Great tutorial, simple and to the point without any waffling. As regards sounding Like Liam Neeson nit exactly, but what accent is that you have?

  • @aikighost Thanks! It's the remnants of a South African accent actually.

  • cool le tuto !! je téste demain ^^ sa a l'air plus simple que ma technique pour creez du wobble

  • yeah,great,thx :)

  • can some on plzz help me

    plzz help

  • on the other hand, know that i here the sound,i think it really might be 2 cents out of tune.maybe these values depend on why osc is selected

  • i think the value 37 euquals one ocatve.therefore 2 donst euqal 2 cents :)

  • Pants are for losers man :D

  • Cool video!!! I`ve been makin dub step on my mx...Isn`t the shit for dub step!!!!!! U can make everything on it..But itz one of the fastest n easiest thingz 2 make dub step on..

  • Anyone ever told you you sound like Liam Neeson?

  • @willmtemple Haha maybe I should change careers.

  • @rudeog Man.. Why can`t everyone make videos like this when they claim they explain something... Great and on spot video . I am bying an emx since now i am convinced. Thank you

  • AMEN for this. You just helped me get my dubstep career off the ground. God bless, fellow dubstepper.

  • nice tutorial Man..

oh yeah n thnx for the tip

  • awesome man thanks alot ive been looking for a vid like this!!!

  • thx brah

  • EMX NOOBS ---- READ THE MANUAL, yeah yeah i know its boring, but that's the only way to truly know the answer to any question you have about the machine ASIDE from exact tone like this vid is showing you. cmon people, read that shit.

  • @2HCvsUO

Great another elitist. Just what the EMX community needs. the "RTFM" attitude helps no one. Some people don't learn well from the manual, and especially if they have no background in sequencing, synth waves, etc. The EMX manual over complicates the simple playability of the device. For example the step sequencing a synth part section on page 49 is quite verbose for someone new to hardware of this nature.

  • @Evologix I'm just saying to read the manual, many questions can be avoided by simply taking the time to read about your instrument. I might be a dick about it, but stupid ass questions that can easily be answered by reading get under my skin.

  • Hey, do you need a smart media card to save stuff on the emx? I just bought one but it doesnt come with the card

  • @hello123q123 No, you don't need the card. You can put stuff on the card, but in reality you never will unless you run out of slots on the machine (very unlikely).

  • @rudeog I'm almost out of slot. I'n almost done the C bank, and ive got a few in my d bank. Know where to buy a smart card?

  • @meman24 You can't get them easily anymore. Having one will not give you more save slots, it will just allow you to back up stuff. If you have a midi in/out from your computer, you can achieve the same thing by doing a dump to the computer. You can download a midi program like midiOX for free.

  • @meman24 thanks, thats exactly what I'm looking for. I just want to back everything up. If I dump to the computer will it still be on the emx as well?

  • Hey, do you need a smart media card to save stuff on the emx? I just bought one but it doesnt come with the card

  • this was really helpfful please do another tut man :D

  • sounds and looks like fun.

  • awesome video man really informative.... I was wondering when your were recording the synth part over the drum pattern, how did you get the 3 note bass line to record? I could only get one note to record, no three in a row... were you holding the shift key when u were recording with some other function? Was also wondering how to erase a synth part once recorded??? Thanks for your time

    best

    kev

  • @keveeekev You need to arm the record (hit rec button), make sure it's in keyboard mode (keyboard light is lit) then hit play. Use the buttons as a keyboard and play in time with the drums. To erase a synth part, hold down shift-erase while it's playing for the parts you want to erase.

  • nice! thanks

  • coo beat

  • my wobble doesn't sounds not the same :(

    moar like a crappy 8bit wobble ;(

  • THANK YOU! YOU ROCK!!

  • VPM Square has a really nasty sound with the right modulations it sounds less bland to me in anycase just thought i would say.

  • The key that you press at 1:07, is that basically a built-in keyboard? & Great tutorial btw. :D

  • @rayman01234 Yes, the buttons at the bottom act as a keyboard when you are in keyboard mode, and act like a drum machine when you are not.

  • @rudeog Okay, cheers mate! :)

  • Great tutorial :L i found for the really dirty rusty sounds that alot of producers are doing alot VPM with sin wave works well.

  • @tikiandthemartyr Hmm I haven't messed with the VPM. Maybe I should...

  • thank god, been trying to figure this out for awhile, best emx vid ive seen besides ur original dub beat, any chance youd show us how to make some dub drums, im decent at making beats, but just cant grasp the dub concept when it comes to constructing a drum pattern. any tips or pointers would be great

  • "...you get that sick wobble sound. That's all there is to it..."

that gave me the chills man.

    sounds awesome.

  • can you connect it to your pc and use it in Ableton?

  • @73luckystrike73 sure B)

  • u made it look effortless!!...lol :)

  • that's sooooo fuckn sick!

  • THANK YOU!!!!!

  • thats so baddass!

  • wow this looks really easy to make dubstep with once you get the hang of it.

  • ty helps me alot

  • Nice and simple easy to remember ty vm : )

  • too legit man, to be honest, idiscovered dubstep last night and had no idea wtf what going on, now i know what creates this amazing noise, many thanks for the vid!

  • This is one of the best EMX videos on YouTube. Tutorials like this are sadly lacking. 'Looking forward to the next one.

  • this was pritty sick mate

  • Now can you show us how to on an electribe sx?

  • very cool thanks :D

  • nice beat you have going, i personally don't use this machine myself, but the tutorial was helpful in general......

  • 2:17 you're not wearing any trousers :D?

  • And why should I in the company of my own electribes?

    :-)

  • @rudeog does the EMX have speakers? It looks not, like you have to plug it into an amp to hear the sounds you are creating, right?

  • No speakers, it needs to be plugged into a mixer.

  • @rudeog or an amp, correct? like an electric guitar, etc?

  • I use a keyboard amp rather, because a guitar amp does not give the right frequency response and would color the sound too much (unless you were just doing synth parts, in which case it might sound cool overdriven).

  • crap!! i was counting on my guitar amp to use it. (i might get one this week) !!!! GRR

  • i got my emx dude! It's pretty fun, but I'm at a loss as to how to not play the stupid pre made songs whenever i press play...

  • yoo! i got my emx. Works great. But i cant figure out how to save songs?! i go to write and then im unsure what to do because theres no way to write letters for a name?

  • I am having a similar problem exept mine sez protect error when i press write :( lol only got mine last week

  • you might have the protect on

  • you should try looking in the instruction manual, its there to tell you how to use it...

but go to global, then down to protect and turn the write protect off

  • hit global and scroll down to protect and turn the knob off

  • hold shift when u push write then u will be able to select the letters

  • @Schnelson Press the 'write' button while holding the SHIFT key, to enter in Rename mode. Check the manual for further info ;)

  • @rudeog getting down with electribe LOL dirty dog

  • fuckin lethal

  • can you change the speed and amount of wobble you apply??

  • this video is a HUGE help thanks so much for making it dude :)

i reckon it sounds pretty awesome using pulse waveform and pulling back the general cutoff on the synth filter to 98

just for anyone that wants to edit it a bit ;D

  • I'm planning on getting one of these in the near future. You just made making a wobble look so easy, haha. I'm a little intimidated by the EMX, might be hard to learn, but I bet it'll be worth it. :D

  • nice video! and simple bassline but sounds heavy on my soundsystem :D

  • thx alot !

  • Thats so dope! I have an esx and this makes me want to supplement it with an emx

  • I have both and use the EMX far more than the ESX. The only thing the ESX gives you that I miss on the EMX is the ability to run drum sounds thru the filter.

  • thats just evil

  • iv watched your vid a few times man - trying to get a bit of info on the emx and im finally getting one tomorrow :) i know abit of music theory and cant wait to crack this box open and post a few vids.btw - its nice to see you guys on the other side of the pond trying out dubstep

  • Great! Hope you enjoy it! It's still the best box in my opinion.

  • On peut obtenir des Wobble de differentes sonorités ??

We can obtain Wobble from different tones??

    Thinks

  • went to the store to collect it today to find out they let someone put a deposit on it last week so i drove 2hrs for nothing! just paid for one from amazon so E.T.A should be monday or tuesday. THANK GOD lol

  • Wicked!!!

  • hey man, could this happen with the esx? do you know how to do it on an esx?

  • Sure man, you just need to load up a good square wave sample and set it to loop.

  • thanks!

  • The best video on youtube. Cheers man, i have been wantin to learn how to do what that smooth button does for ages. 5 stars pal.

  • I knew how to do that, but thank you for sharing your knowledge to the others!

    5*.

  • is there a synthesizer coming off of this machine?

  • i love you for this... seriously thank you!

  • hahahahaha. It's catching on this side of the pond. It takes us Americans longer, but we get there eventually (sometimes).

  • what did i say??? i dont even remember commenting...

  • @BigBaggaBlues u said, i just cant imagine why a middle aged american man such as yourelf is into dubstep, or where you've even heard of it lol. u narrow minded idiot

  • lol

  • dude :D you rocks ;)

  • DUDE!!! love your tutorials, nice bass line!!

  • Making dubstep on the tribe is so fun.

  • thanks for that man.. i've been learning so much in the last couple weeks, wish i could upload my stuff though, but i have no camera

  • How much did that EMX cost?

  • it's like 500 bucks

  • would be cool to see a beginners tutorial on youtube, there are no video tutorials on the internet for the emx1

  • I agree, im planning on getting one but the one thing i don't understand how to do yet is the synth parts...

  • yeh same lol

  • maybe if you read the manual ;)

  • Wish i can be as smart as you some day

  • ahah settle ^__^

  • yesssssshhhhh

  • didn't know the electribe had such a fat sound

  • Wow, that's sick.

  • wow-you re a demon! fuck is this cool,... hnds up and many steppin t h a n xxxxx s

  • top....top............................TOP.

  • Awesome!

  • I WANT ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ahhh i jst bougt an AXIOM 25 MIDI synth ... wut a waste compared to this, what program do you use?

  • For making the video? Sony Vegas.

  • ...Thats an electribe, analog ish. An axiom is a midi controller, that you can use with computer or modules.

You can easily makes this tunes in any musical software.

    By the way, nice video.

  • nice one on the vid man, really helped. kind of annoying, as i knew it would be so fucking simple! :)

  • Great Tutorial !

Can't get the same wobble bass on ESX ? =/

  • tu peut t en approcher en tout cas!

  • that is awesome...thanks now i know how to record for the synth parts hahaha...

    simply genius

  • amazing! like it!

  • great tutorial vid for the emx :)

  • what drum did u have on drum part 3 mate?

    cheers

  • For some strange reason mine doesnt do that sound :( lol

  • that sounds tight as!!!

  • the sound on that thing is amazing i want one!

  • Is that all you have to do for recording motion sequences? I thought it was going to be 84.9 times harder than that but I guess I never really dug into the book and worked on it either. Nice vids. Please put some more up if you can

  • very good but i wounder if i can do it to on a ESX?

  • awesome, thanks a lot

  • Great tute man

  • NICE! thanks very much for this video!!! it helped a lot! ^^

  • can this b done on an eSx aswell?

  • Sure, you'll just need to load up a decent square wave waveform. All of the same modulation can be done on the esx. Check out the electribe yahoo group, I think they have some waveforms in their files section.

  • nice man! For anyone thats interested in this this is a life saver! Good stuff.
