  • They're back!!

  • Bands Like Korn or Paramore were never Hardcore you kuntz long live refused, At-The drive in, Fugazi and rites of spring oh and bane too

  • All modern early 2000's emo / and now scene bands tried to replicate Refused's style but they were all shitty at it. So stoked for the NYC show

  • Refused ain't fucking dead!!! congrats to all who'll see them with me at wayoutwest this summer, and congrats to all yankees who'll see them at coachella!

  • They are fucking back and coming to belgium on groezrock!!!

  • this band is gay as shit

  • @newandjune HAHAHAHAHA good joke man

  • @newandjune if only you knew how ignorant that comment was

  • Who pays the newsman and who owns the radio stations and who runs the record label? "Who benefits from the de-politicizing in art and music and who benefits from the clean sound of the next pop wonder? Who runs the game show and who pays the salaries to the reporters? Here and now we offer you a taste of our liberation frequency, provided by us for your satisfaction and excitement."-Refused Manifesto

  • Fuck the new hardcore and these guys who fight against the invisible ninja. Refused are back and Refused is the shit

  • What i would give to be in California in April/Sweden in August...

  • @Bedablablabla who's stoppin' ya?

  • @Bedablablabla Also added groezrock in Belgium for April to their shows.

  • This band stands out so much from other hardcore punk bands. This whole album is genius. It is put together so well.

  • All the 2000's "post hardcore" bands are influenced by these guys. Refused are the OGs

  • Refused was REAL hardcore punk...How the fuck are people so stupid. They are nothing like korn. Nothing to do with paramore are you fucking kidding me? And yeah there are still tons of good hardcore punk bands around Touche Amore Defeater Expire Dangers Ceremony I could go on and on. How are all these fucking losers finding refused?

  • @RATxKILLEDxTHExBEAR I completely agree with you, but the reason why people are talking about Paramore is because in one of their songs, the lead singer says "we want the airwaves back". I think they just tried to copy Refused or something, who knows?

  • @TheAssesKicker They did it as a tribute to Refused. It is paramore's favourite band. I saw an interwiew where they explained this.

  • @sarbulba Oh, okay. I didn't know that. Thanks for telling me.

  • Why are there so many fucking tools on refused videos?

  • Fuckin don't care about the misunderstanding between fans or haters...... this is the liberation frequency........ fuuuuck yeaaaah, Refused still break the fucking house.

  • no band goes the "wrong" way, either your tastes changed or theirs did. Who wants to be the same for the rest of their life? That gets boring.

  • @kentton77 NOFX do! :-D

  • @JAB1091 korn actualy use to be a hardcore band before they went wrong way. but there is good newer hardcore bands, just harder to find an kinda underground

  • @Red1676 no

  • Love this song.

  • @JAB1091 hardcore punk? wtf!

  • @BroknSircut except it sounds nothing Mayday Parade or Bullet for My Valentine you nonce.

  • @BroknSircut No. Just no.

  • @BroknSircut Dig your ears out son. You've obviously got impacted drums.

  • I'm hitting the gym with this.

  • that final chorus where dennis is screaming but the guitars stay quiet... fucking deadly.

  • Comment removed

  • cannot decide if i like refused or at the drive-in better...yes, yes, they have their own styles, blah blah. bottom line, two hugely influential post-hardcore (ish) bands

  • @mmcolony you like refused bette and you dont like at the drive in at all

  • @JAB1091

there's plently of good hardcore out these days.

  • 13 people don't want the airwaves back.

  • Refused ~ Liberation Frequency ~ The Shape of Punk to Come: A Chimerical Bombination in 12 Bursts ~ Protest Songs 1968

  • @JAB1091 lol there are still alot of awesome bands today - you havent checked out the right bands

  • Comment removed

  • @JAB1091 thats because hardcore doesnt have the same feeling as it did in the 80's or early 90's. Now it sounds just like the hatebreed style, its too metal for me>

  • @JAB1091 theres lotsa gr8 HC bands today... Touché Amoré; Defeater; La Dispute; the list goes on and on and on...

  • @theoriginalsherriff yeah, it's a shame it all gets buried under the crappy modern metalcore scene.

  • "WE WANT THE ARIWAVES BACK!"

  • born for this? paramore

  • @LCSL Paramore are actually inspired by Refused, so that's probably why it sounds like it.

  • quite impossible to compare this to Korn...whoever thinks that is a complete idiot.

  • @mzx30mzx30 how can you be both COMPLETE and an IDIOT? An idiot is incomplete.

  • @mzx30mzx30 Most def.

  • We want the air waves back.

  • 13 dislikes???? i weep for these poor misguided souls.

  • love them, including bad brains and minor threat(:

  • @JAB1091 What would be your definition of hardcore nowadays? Cause their are some great hardcore bands around.

  • This is the best album ever

  • i love how it starts mellow and quiet, almost something you could fall asleep to and then....WHAT FREQUENCY ARE YOU GETTING

  • Greatness

  • Thumbs up if you've blasted this at full volume on a stereo.

  • heros <3

  • Why would Hayley/ Paramore copy their lyrics...

  • @marusia949 cause they liked it? can't blame them

  • @marusia949 Probably because she likes this band would be my guess. Durr.

  • @marusia949 not copy, reference. it's a widespread technique in music

  • i amen the korn is gay comment!!!

  • Крутая группа! моя молодость проходила под звуки этой группы! послушал с удовольствием вспомнил молодость! первый раз увидел клип New noise на канале VIVA ZWEI! даже на видеомагнитофон записал!

  • @SuperStruch no one understands that gibberish

  • This album sounds guitar when you play it on guitar through a vox ac30.

  • love this new school old school shit, refused were fucking good still are try finding a band like this now, actually post id be really interested in knowing who the fuck this band is

  • @endfm trust company good shit

  • i remember when this came out, i still hated my prents then...

  • lol experimental hxc is a contradiction. The whole point of hxc is to be straight forward, unpretentious, and accessible... prog-ing it out is not what it means to be hxc... it's art-rock

  • Korn sucks dick. just saying.

  • ...huge influence would be "We want the airwaves" by the mighty RAMONES with of course the signature style that only the Refused could pull off.

  • @redshaftedflicker i just made this connection, as well. lol. they are my two favorite punk bands.

  • Dear Morons,

Just because someone screams doesnt mean they ripped off of Korn.

    ps- you're dumb

    Love always Schulte

  • why the hell are people discussing nu-metal here?

  • RATM are considered Crossover rather than Nu Metal because did not only have elements of Hip Hop and Metal/Rock, but also Funk (the riffs especially on ealier efforts are nothign more than funk riffs played heavy as fuck) and Electronic stuff (Voice of the Voiceless and later stuff)

  • you have no idea! kids!

  • RATM only came about a year before korn, cuz korn started in late 92, but i wouldnt consider ratm nu metal. Although nu metal is a stupid term used my the media because one again they needed to name a genre that was indescribable, but korn themselves hate the term nu metal as well.

  • korn and refused are two different types of rock how can u compare shit to beauty?

  • this isnt even close to korn, but korn is not talentless. they started a decade's worth of musical trend, so yeah whatever

  • @awsumlyawsum Started a decades worth of trends? Good joke, their first album was hardly an original work.

  • @bIoodypingu Im just sayin man its two totally different styles of music. They were very influential and came very far. Its not just their music but the pure emotion. sure now they are kinda washed out, but they were very different and tons of bands copied them. there is a reason why tons of people still love them 20 years later. Not everyone is a musician.

  • @awsumlyawsum Tons of bands copied them eh. Name some.

  • @bIoodypingu most of the "nu metal" bands that came after them. name A band that korn copied off of, since you said their first album wasnt original.

  • @awsumlyawsum You realize RATM is considered 'nu metal'. Why aren't they the founders of 'nu metal' considering they came years before korn.

  • i really like this song. :)

  • paramore used lyrics from this song :D :D :D

  • @diamondgeezer9 always good to know the world has fresh ideas...

  • Wow, whoever brought up Korn has started a huge conversation on here that shouldn't even be. This sounds nothing like Korn. And I like both bands.

  • I'm checking this out 'cause of Paramore's song Born For This. Does this make me a poser?

  • @harmonicminorshred

    Of course it does.

    But it's alright.

At least you listen to it.

  • @harmonicminorshred hell no. what is poser, exactly? are you a "poser" if you like paramore AND refused? no way. what are you posing as? just chill and enjoy the music. :)

  • @harmonicminorshred it makes you more educated.

  • @harmonicminorshred Nope, welcome to the sound of Refused.

  • @harmonicminorshred Yes it does actually

  • @harmonicminorshred Nope, but it makes you a person with a really bad taste for music.

  • It'a funny how so-called hardcore/punk fans bring the "talent" tag to the table when they want to bash a band like korn. You don't need to be talented to do songs like ramones nor sex pistols, yet you can rock any crowd in the world and be more energetic and real than any other band that plays by the book. The thing is, you prefer to be an hypocritical fuck and keep judging bands by the same reason that someone right now is using to trash punk bands such as to be talented or technical. BULLSHIT!

  • @daliend

You do need to be talented to do what the Ramones did, lyrically at least, willing to be ballsy without being overtly juvenile.

Look at "My Brain is Hanging Upside Down" for that.

Sex Pistols was always more of an image thing, but Lydon got beaten in the street for "God Save the Queen"

Don't ever say Korn has anywhere near the talent, balls, or style that those two pinnacles of the punk system did. Don't even.

  • @mrfudgeyhead first off don't tell me what should I be saying, thats just silly. Second place, All that I was saying was about music, not attitude. Talent don't have to be a requirement to perform good music or good sound, whereas is punk or korn's type of music. Simplicity and minimalism are the fundamental elements of every punk rock band like ramones or sex pistols and talent shouldn't be considered the prime reason to judge them and so does korn.

  • just because korn is the only band with screaming that your puny brain has heard, does NOT mean this sounds anything like korn.

  • what the fuck DOES this song have to do with korn?

  • i want the airwaves back but i will settle for justin biebers head on a stick

  • @NightmareRoute, I would never settle for that fuck.

  • ripping of korn lol nahh they both use distortion thats about the only similarity but old korn are good ppl think they are soo fucking cool for dissing band's they no fuck all about ! tones of band were ripping of korn in 1998

  • Seems I reached the 500 character limit in my initial post. Im fairly certain the majority of you know what I was gonna say. For the others, I think its fitting to keep you clueless for the rest of your lives.

  • WE WANT REFUSED BACK!

  • They ripped off Korn? I'd like to see Korn ripoff May 68'...

  • The "We want the airwaves back" is featured in Born For This by Paramore.

  • @GalaxiaDarkness13 My mind was full of fuck when I realised this.

  • jazz-punk-core!

  • Ripped off korn?! uh oh, someone has no sense of history or time.

  • this is from 98, don't think they ripped off korn

  • what part of the song that they ripped off from korn?

  • korn is gay

  • @zimmrile u are gay Korn is the father or king the nu metal shut up loseeeer where is now refused???

  • @AkirAettE Refused are fucking dead, Korn tries to gain their old fans again but have lost their appeal a decade ago (imo).

  • @Mariooo57 -.-

  • Comment removed

  • @AkirAettE new metal is gay too

  • @N05h00b135 shut up and fack up punk

  • @AkirAettE ......what?

  • @N05h00b135 hamcedyvulater

  • @zimmrile i like korn most of there song are bad ass!!! than again in some ways i have to agree but . other than that there are some well thot of songs!

  • @zimmrile yep. more mtv fuk't hype.

  • @zimmrile korn kicks ass

  • @zimmrile

Awesome random comment. Yes, Korn sucks rancid nuts.

  • @zimmrile

    still is bud

  • @zimmrile Are you homophobic? Or is it just a retarded verbal tic?

  • fuck this is awesome

  • old school.

  • Back when Hardcore was experimental and good.

  • @SX1995able Pics or it didn't happen buddy.

  • Music of this decade should be more like this, I say.

  • @flashpro62 I totally agree. Music has devolved, If you look at a lot of the Indie rock, rap, Metal, whatever genre, they`re just re-hashing the same ideas the older bands had. I`ve noticed a lot of modern punk/underground bands aren`t really that original and just taking from the New Wave genre. I like it but there`s really nothing new.

  • @SX1995able I could not agree with you more!

  • @SX1995able ...it still is

  • @SX1995able whats wrong with it now

  • @67675656565655656565 I still like modern more modern bands but I don`t know it sounds a bit too similar too every other form of Hardcore. Plus, the majority of them are sounding more like metal bands than Punk bands.

  • @SX1995able i noticed old hardcore punk bands sound completely different to todays stuff. As you said more rock or metal based.Thats probably why some mates who first got into metal are not into hardcore to.

  • @67675656565655656565 hey man, "old hardcore" started with minor threat. i would say the cusp between old and new hardcore was bane or similar bands from that era when it started switching into metal. i remember getting mad at bands like circle takes the square for showing up to the hardcore shows. now i consider them somewhat hardcorey. anyway, the scene is operated in similar ways. it's the same spirit and feeling. the music isn't as simple though.

  • @hailsatan666abortion i hate those fans who are close minded though ie just listen to old stuff or just new stuff.

  • @SX1995able it still is, you're just not looking the right places. comadre and circle takes the square are two good and still touring hardcore bands, upping the ante.

  • @SX1995able yet somehow it was released 12 years after Black Flag broke up, which effectively ended all the progression in the genre. hmmm...

  • THE SHAPE OF PUNK TO COME-ITS HAPENED-ONE OF BEST PUNK ALBUMS IN HISTORY-REFUSED MUSIC IS IMMORTAL. SWEDEN PUNK SCENE THE BEST!

  • Korn = Corny band...

  • Labels are important. Don't try to deny them just because you fall under their category. Grief doesn't make them any less real or accurate. Everyone is just a mish mash hodgepodge of different labels. Some more, some less. Get over it and stop being a goddamn child.

  • @JochenHadley

This. It's like someone getting mad for being called a man, or woman, or human, etc. Humans describe things. I can understand the need to not feel pressured to do something you may not want to do, but you can't get mad when some tries to communicate effectively what kind of music something is.

  • Korn comes from my hometown, and everyones soooo proud of them. FUCK KORN. I could make better music from the sounds of my shit dropping in the toilet.

  • @innerdivineflame -i wish bako had some more good bands besides country stuff, haha

  • @Devaprakash777 yep!

  • Nation of Ulysses

  • Sessions with the rhythm section are the best :P

  • the shape of nothing to come

  • Refused . . .hmm. they basically destroy rain forests and extinct species of life with ROCK

  • love this track, its wicked to listen too while walking that dreadred walk too work.

  • Paramore sucks balls compared to Refused. punk sentiments in songs.

  • The shape of punk that never came.

  • 1:18 wow! didnt see that coming!!!!

  • Yes, Refused is miiiiiiiiles better than Paramore and any other band like them. But even Refused fans have to understand that Refused was a HUGE influence on Paramore and pretty much every other band like them. This album is called "The Shape of Punk to Come", and that's exactly what it was.
