What I'm wondering is how does the engine stay cool? It doesn't look like there is any forced air over the cylinder head. I wouldn't think being passively cooled would work that well for a lawn mower.
Victa's rock! I bought one of the last two strokes available in England (new strokers are now band in England - which sucks big time) Mine is a 19" Razor with a VSX160.
I know this is a tragic question, but I'm kinda keen on Victa's and, erm.... wondered if, well.... thers a owners or enthusiasts club? There said it now!!
Lol, that sort of behaviour is probably normal. I remember when we retired our old victa and bought a new one. I had to take a picture of them both together to kind of "see off" the old one. Shame about being sold to the Yanks though. Not sure about an enthusiast club.
Hi,it's a very basic two stroke engine, 125cc. The beauty of it is that it is so basic thats what makes them such a reliable little mower. This model 2 was manufactured from 1956 to 1957. A testimony to their popularity is that 50 odd years later you can still buy parts for the motor. I have a collection of victa Rotomo's and Victa Specials (1957-1960 the model that replaced the Rotomo) that I use to mow my lawn with. Their just a great little machine. Cheers Borge.
Good looking and fine running machine. You did a bang-up job restoring that older Victa.
I'm in the US, and have 5 Lawnboy 2-cycles. Would love to smuggle a modern, premium Victa home for my collection!
If you get a chance, a bunch of us Lawnboy nuts are at mytractorforum(.)com, and we'd like to hear from more Victa owners in the 'Walk-Behind Mowers' section.
The Lawn-Boy engines are a bit stouter, possibly because they have both a top and a bottom motor main bearing where as in a Victa engine all the engine bearings are in the bottom.
That is correct when you are talking about the power torque engine but the older full crank engine (Series 70 and Series 80) which had one bearing up top and two on the bottom was and still is one of the best small engines ever made.
That is one of the best victa 18's i have seen. In my newest video you can see the victa 18 which i found... someone was throwing it out, can you believe that!!!
lovin' the top hat dancin' to the 2 stroke music!
