What happens if their chairs break down? Are they going to be able to find replacement parts and get them fixed? I think giving away chairs is a bad idea. It's far better to do what whirlwind wheelchairs international does. They show people how to build chairs out of locally available materials. This way if it breaks down they can get it fixed locally. On top of that, the whirlwind chairs are designed to be used in 3rd world conditions. A hand up is better than a hand out.
Thanks for your comment, BMI has a wheelchair repair and maintenance shop in Guatemala. We always leave our contact info with the people receiving the wheelchairs and have communication with them. It is very important that a person, especially children with severe disabilities, have the correct seating and support that they need, this can only be found with good orthopedic wheelchairs and proper seating. Damage may be accomplished and many people die from bedsores if seated incorrectly.
Cant tell you how many times I have watched this vido, thank you for the wonderful work you are doing, for helping those in need, may god continue to bless your ministries. Todos Santos is where I am from, and have been back three times in the past three years, can't wait to visit again.
