I didn't understood the 'bleeding' part very well....but I suppose that put the ocapacity around 9% like that and then (with much patient) you brushed it all unti, you thought it was good, am I right?

    I just want to know because I'm trying to make a draw like this one but I couldn't find out how you made it!I clicked on your link but I didn't found the answer to my question ^^;

  • This was cool bro!

  • realy cool picture,

but why aren't her eyes the same color?

  • Its funny I always imagined you using a billion layers painting. I use a thousand myself , so :)

  • Amazing Stuff :3

  • Found it on dA, decided to look at the tutorial. This is absolutely beautiful. I think you learn to respect a piece a lot more if you see the work that went into it. :]

  • now that wat we call a toturial, i hate speed painting! doesn't bring any good at all :))

i don't care how many part, at least I'm learning~ thank DO

  • LOL na~~ you doing it great~~ your skill marvelous

  • What was it that you did at 4:58 to make the rest of the picture fit after you adjusted the head?

  • I'm really glad I found your tutorials and your videos, they help me a lot. : ]

a question: how long were you working on it? Oo

  • what program did you use to record this painting video.

  • You are such a spectacular artist x) I'm glad you made a tutorial you have really taught me quit allot. You have extraordinary talent and I'm glad to see someone who helps people with that talent ^^

  • How do you get the colors to blend in?

  • yeah i ordered a intous 4 its coming tomorrow yay!

  • Ahh.... Anyone else feel an urge of ordering a tablet and Photoshop now? XD

  • Amazing!! Inspirational! Thankyou for taking the time to share this.

  • You have given me some new ideas to work with. Thanks, I'll be watching and learning more.

    Bonne continuation.

  • lol your undo levels at 204

  • hi this is realy good and i wonder what tool u use to blend?

  • Eye dropper tool and the Brush. Remember to set the Opacity Jitter to Pen Pressure in the Brush Settings

  • what settings do you use for your brushes?

  • thank you sooo much this tutorial is amazing! <333333 I'm shocked you even have a video for this tutorial.

    You are amazing!

  • Is an intuos 3 better than an intuos2?

  • yep!

  • Dude, I got one the other week. Good GOD the difference is astounding! I'm in love with my new tablet!

  • photoshop or painter?

im using phptoshop but i heard in some ocasions that painter is better.

    whats ur oppinion?

  • it depends between person to person to person someone uses photoshop

and some use painter.. sometimes some use both!(like me!.. i used to) :P

  • hmmm.. i dont get it.. whats the point in using both?

  • You can add texture to a painting in Painter which is harder to do Photoshop.

  • Painter is more like using traditional materials so a lot of people prefer to use it for the actual painting. Photoshop is extremely good at manipulating an image, so a lot of people use it at the end to touch it up and add effects.

  • i think painter is a little better for sketching, i like to paint in photoshop

  • you really made an amazing tutorial... I can do portraits traditional mediums (ie chalk, water color, etc). I've been trying to shift over to Photoshop but feeling very stuck with understanding the brushes... your tutorial really helped me a lot in the areas I didn't understand... thank you so much! =)

  • awesome!! really

  • Thank you !

  • @DianeOzdamar

Om... I don't think the DUB is on. -_- I can't hear anything.

  • @MrZetterlund777 the tutorial.

  • Hello, what was the original image size please ? Is it really large, and you resize it at the end ? I have finish reading your tutorial, thanks for the tips :)

  • Thank you so much for this video! I read the descriptions and looked at the process, and it really, really helps. Thanks again!

  • Do you know how to read ? I guess yes, since you can write.

So PLEASE CHECKOUT THE DESCRIPTION FOR THE FULL WRITTEN TUTORIAL as I already told you.

    Thanks.

I spent almost 15 HOURS WRITING IT.

There are my custom brushes linked below the tutorial, I've described all the tools used and some interesting techniques on how to paint gold and transparent objects.

I'm really annoyed by such rude comments. How can you say it's useless when you've not even taken the time to read the tutorial ?

  • As she said, how can you say it's useless when you havent even read the tutorial? besides, the whole tutorial is like 8 parts! Do you IMAGINE how long it would take to watch them if she made it longer (sure, i'd watch it anyways =D it dazzles me to see her working =O ) to me the speed its ok.. GOOD news about youtube: you can push *pause* and take your time to look at what she did.. Then keep watching.

  • Thank you very much ! You said it all ^^

The "pause" button can be quite useful.

By the way, I don't think youtube videos quality is good enough to understand what I did, even if it was at real speed

  • It is TREMENDOUSLY useful if you've read the written tutorial that goes with the video.

  • Aww, thank you very much ! Finally someone who's not saying "hey, this is not a tutorial, it's just demo vids"

    THANK YOU ! :)

  • Dude, thank you for making it. :)

  • your paintings are fabulous! I sure would like for someone to actually slow the vid down just to show the how the technique is done?

  • Thank you very much. Though, all techniques are explained in the written tutorial. I only uploaded the vids to show the whole painting process (how much the face changed from the beginning to the end, etc).

  • Correct me if I'm wrong, but did you do this all on one layer?

The work is breathtaking, I have nothing but admiration for your patience and the amount of pride you take in your work.

  • I did this on one layer indeed, except some minor things I painted on a separate layer then merged with the background layer once I was satisfied with them.

Thank you very much ! :)

  • Your work is awesomeyou are a great artist! what size and resolution do you work at to make those amazing details not to get los into pixelation?

  • Thank you very much ! The original painting resolution is written under the tutorial (just click the link in the description)

    Original painting resolution : 9000 x 6714px, 300 dpi

  • That's really awesome <33

But I was wondering, what window do you open up to mold out some bits into the shape you like?

    Like at 3:52.

  • Liquify tool : Filter => Liquify

  • Oh alright, thanks very much :D

  • That's all just off the chain. With all the detail it had by the end of Part 1 I woulda stopped working on the face and felt satisfied but damn! You just kept finding more bits to add and change.

    You are a Photoshop Goddess.

  • Aww, thank you very much !

  • wow, this is amazing!!!!! she look so serious and rather intimidating from the far views, but she is so stunningly beautiful even then, even more so up close!!!! the detail in her eyes in breathtaking!!!!!

  • Thank you so much!

  • hi there by any chance do you have a DVD of this design or of someone of your design similar to this one that you explaing what you are doing? many thanks

  • Please checkout the written tutorial linked in the description, all is explained here ;)

  • Very impressive. I couldn't work on one layer like that, it's too destructive. It limits me from changing things later.

  • how do you adjust the pen pressure on photoshop7?

does it just depend on the brush?

    (shape dynamics, other dynamics.. etc.)?

  • I don't know photoshop 7 so unfortunately I can't reply to your question, I'm sorry...

There must be a way to adjust it though...

  • Is that all on one layer? oh my..

  • it's all on one layer, most of the time, indeed. I sometimes create a new layer to try some things I'm not sure about though. When I'm satisfied with them, I'm merging them with the background layer so the image is not too heavy.

  • I have a question about the other screen you keep going to soften her face and adjust. The liquify tool? How exactly are you using it? Do you use it as a blender?

  • Nope, I'm using it to change proportions when they are wrong. I'm only using the paint brush (hard edged brush, opacity jitter set to pen pressure, 0%) to paint over my brushstrokes in order to blend colors.

  • Ha! Mon cooloc trippe dessus. XD (Moi aussi d'ailleurs)

  • C'est vrai? :o Merci beaucoup!!!

Merci encore! :)

  • Pas de problèmes. <3

  • Hey, Dianae...I have like two questions. But first of all, I LOVE these videos! I like the idea of experimenting more rather than just drawing something. :D Okay, well, my first qiestion is in 4:56 there is a box expanding around that girls face to make her head bigger. How was that done? And my second was that you lightened parts of her face but the dodge tool wasn't used? Instead another window opened around her head. Would you mind telling me what they are?

    Thanks. :)

  • To enlarge the head : I've just selected it , copied and pasted it then pressed cmd + T (or ctrl + T for PC users I think) to transform it. Then I'm erasing the edges using a soft edged brush and merging it to the background.

To lighten some parts : I'm just painting over my previous brushtrokes using lighter colors :)

  • wow...just wow. after seeing this i'm very inspired. thank you for posting this =)

  • You're welcome, I'm glad it inspired you :)

  • Normally, I wouldn't watch 8 parts of a video considering the length, but for this, it's totally worth it! You're so incredible, it makes me jealous. xP

    J'adore!

  • Don't be jealous, it's a matter of practise :)

  • you... you work on a single layer? °___°

    *faints*

    You're my hero...

and these videos are awesome, can't wait to see the other six!

    *hugs you*

  • Thank you sooooo much Nadezhda!!!! I didn't know that you had a youtube account too :)

And yes, I work on a single layer.... the painting would be way too heavy otherwise ^^'

  • You're so welcome ^3^ (yes, I did it time ago just to have a list of my favorite videos XD)

you know, I started using few layers for my works just after your overpaint on Thadras... before that I used to have files with just too many layers (that thadras one has almost 60 ^^;) but when I saw that you worked without any problem on that single panel... you opened my eyes XD

now my record is 5 layers >.> still didn't try on working on a single one though XD

  • 1 layer is nearly the same as using traditional techniques.... but I'm only doing it because the file would be way too heavy otherwise ;) You're not obliged to work on only 1 layer :)

  • yes, I know it(even if I never painted traditionally °.°), but I don't think I will never work on one ^^; I really need to have the various part of the painting on different levels... but at least now I don't keep adding layers just to add some shadows here and there and ending up messing with all the various merging options >___>''' no way, that was pure madness XDDD

    >3>

  • I'll wait for sure ;D

Also, won't you add a bg music? ^.^

  • I don't want to use music since there could be troubles with copyright policies, but maybe I'll record a specific soundtrack later on (I'm a singer and synthesizer player, so if I find enough inspiration, I'll do something) :)

    Thank you!!!

  • wont you post the last part of the video?

  • I'll post it, but these 6 lasting parts are still encoding ;) So please be patient, I'll post them all :)
