What the heck is with people? They spend all kinds of time complaining about how much generic unoriginal crap is out there, but the new Star Trek changes everything and suddenly they get mad it isn't like the old ones? I have a couple of phrases to describe this phenomena:

--hypocrisy

--double standards

--getting what you ask for, then bitching because they do what you asked them to

--ungrateful

U hit d nail right on d head. I'm not a trekkie but as soon as I watched dis movie I fell in luv wit it. Its fun, smart nd sexy. Cldn't hav said it better myself. I'm glad I've finally met sum1 who's just as sick as I am of all dose loyal trekkies bitchin bout hw dis nu trek isn't like d old trek. In my opinion JJ Abrams did 4 star trek wat Christopher Nolan did 4 Batman

The new Transformers is gonna be stupid. This Star Trek movie will probably make pretty good bank but not a whole lot. I say like 400 million or so.

Mainly because no matter how good it looks, it is still Star Trek and people are still dismissive when it comes to it no matter what.

Terminator is gonna make the most bank of all.

But no movie this year will make as much as The Dark Knight did last summer.

Not even close, not by a long shot.

Well, it depends on what he means. If he means $400 million in profits, you're right. However, if he simply means that's how much money the movie will get in revenue, he might have a point. For instance, if the movie costed $350 million to make, it could "bank" $400 million but the profits will only amount to $50 million. If it only cost $100 million, then it would amount to $250 million, which IS substantial.

I love Star Trek. Grew up as a Next Gen kid. But the old style has been done, and it's time for something new. If Star Trek had stayed the course, it would have died. Now it's a phoenix rising from the ashes.

This movie must go $500+ million.

It is gonna be a hard fight, but I think that at the end Star Trek is gonna be on top, although I am a big fan of Transformers the first movie was amazing and the effect where mind blowing, but I have a feeling that Star Trek is gonna be the biggest movie of the summer, my guees is it is gonna make over 900 million worldwide.But we will see who is right!!

this commercial sucks. when i went to "the menagerie" special theatrical showing last year, it was cool to see how many 20 or 30 year old sons were there with their father to watch that. So many star trek fans today, who are under 30 , are fans of it because their dad was. Worst commercial yet for this movie.

This is an MTV-inspired "Pimp My Trek" version whrere the guy who makes Lost tries to dazzle us with flashy lights, poor writing and a film budget that would get the economy out of recession.

I hear The Jonas Brothers will be in the sequel??

I'm suprised all the Trekkies aren't arent saying, "A.J, your raping my memories of STAR TREK`, like they did with Lucas and his `Star Wars`. I must say, though, in all odds are, I`ll go see it. Skylar is great as Spock... but I think the new Bones is going to be great. :-D.
