1 minute into it and they've already changed around the whole intro to the book, wtf? There was a different audio book for this that actually followed the book to a T. I like the accents and delivery of the voices with all the sound effects and atmosphere, but the dialogue and text being read is far too removed from the original printed novel.
I've seen the movie dozens of times, but I just finished reading the book tonight. Let's see how the audio goes. In my opinion Pet Sematary is one of Stephen King's best!
I love this radio drama audio book version though I wish it didn't tame the story down so much at the end. But at least the Wendigo does speak here unlike in the movie. Though I understand that getting a 2-year old to say anything clearly would be a job, not to mention say all those thing. ;D I'm not sure which I'd appreciare more for a movie: Gage being a toodler as he should, or using an older child who could say the lines. Anyway, I fear the remake. I'm sure they'll fuck it up.
@CaptainJellico1701d Yes. It ought to be released in 2012. It's on IMDB at which point I consider a movie production confirmed. Not sure though if it's going to be a remake or a midquel as in starting off where the first film left us. I hope it's the last mentioned.
@squidwardandspongbob It's great. You begin to like all these characters and then all this horrible shit starts to happen to them. It's just a great read. Truly disturbing.
Hey guys check out a book trailer by Derrick Wiggins. This could be a new way to audio books, I'd like to call it a audio book slide show. Goto megadwiggins. It's a thriller and introduces the prologue and five chapters of the novel.
DON'T KILL HIM. PLEASE DON'T KILL HIM. NOOOOOOOOOOOO. PLEASE DAVID. DON'T HURT HIS LITTLE TOES. OR HIS LITTLE PENCIL. FOR THE LOVE OF GOD. DON'T DO IT PLEASE. LET HIM GO BACK TO THE ABBOTS PLACE. PLEEAAASSSSE.
hey dudes, you know whats cool? dowloading this and several other parts then burning it onto a disc so you can lay down in your bed and listen to it on your CD player instead of having to sit infront of the computer.
Thanks for uploading this but... Well.... Is there a chance to get a normal audiobook somewhere? Because, to be honest, I justcan't force myself to listento this cr...p any longer than 2 minutes.
@Ultrareallism Yup, this leaves quite a lot out. Plus, if I remember correctly, the book is actually told in third person, not told by Louis/Jud point of view.
@RentTheSpokeMan Thank you SOOOOOOOOOO Much for posting this! Do you also have JAWS?! That would be cool. The Narrator sounds like Lord Alfred Hayes! Again, THANKS!!!
im 3 minutes and 57 seconds in and the whining kids are already pissing me off. does the whole story tell theme remind anyone of max payne the ps2 game?????
It gives me some catharsis because to me the book is more about dealing with the loss of a loved one than it is about horror and violence. Now there is alot of scary horror in the book, but that's actually a very small part of the overall narrative.
I cant agree with you more. Actually more of king's books are about psychology - the relationship between people. The horror takes a very little part of it.
@RentTheSpokeMan it may seem really strange, but the thing is, that the book is delivered in a different vehicle then the movie, wehre the undertone really is dealing with loss and the emotional fallout of death and stuff. Honestly when im upset or not, i actually do feel better after reading the book--even without the scary parts.
@RentTheSpokeMan Basically a sense that Stephen King predicted that person was going to die and that he knows what you would do under that curious situation described in the book. It's scary, really, but it does give kind of a sense of comfort.
@alcoholflavored If you haven't even read the book, how can you judge me? The book is about dealing with loss, the horror elements are actually pretty irrelevant to the overall theme and subject of the book. I thank artists like Stephen King for being able to express emotions I feel sometimes and to help me cope with them.
Probably the scariest book King ever wrote. Not just because of the supernatural element, but it is just so damn heartbreaking. The ending alone I think beats the shocking conclusion to the theatrical version of THE MIST.
i am currently downloading all parts of this audiobook on my psp , can't wait !!!!!!!!! plzzzzzzzzzz rent the spokeman uploadddd more audiobooks stephen king or any author's audiobook , let me assure you i will be the first one to download all parts and i will tell my internet readingbook club about ur channel , thankzzzz !!!!!!!!!
