You forgot the likes of David Bowie, Gary Numan, The Cure, Lou Reed, and Pink Floyd, in terms of bands that stretched horizons for music, opening up for the likes of Marilyn Manson to take center stage.

Skinny Puppy is about as raw as you can get. Nine Inch Nails found the perfect blend between gothic, industrial, and mainstream rock music. Both bands are great to listen to. Skinny Puppy is just more . . . experimental at times.

Oh, and Phantom's Desire forgot to mention David Bowie, Gary Numan, The Cure, and Pink Floyd in terms of bands that expanded gothic horizons.
