  • Either some people here haven't listened to Pretty Hate Machine, or some people have 0 musical sensibilities.

  • Trent Reznor is quite literally the Beethoven of his age. The art he has created (and still will create) will endure in a similar manner.

    Peter Murphy, not so much.

  • Should have paid Murphy to stay OFF the stage n let Trent do it himself

  • Trent Reznor is a fool. I wonder how much he paid Peter Murphy to be seen on the same stage as him.

  • Oh do shut up.

  • wow nine inch nails sucks they arnt worthy of even being on the same stage a peter murphy

  • Ian Curtis, you was so brilliant...

  • went to this show, this was my first exposure to NIN, fucking awesome

  • Peter Murphy--The Shizznit

  • fucking awesome!!!! de poca madre!!!

  • the legacy is strong...motherfuckers!!!

  • peter murphy + nin + joy division cover = the coolest fucking thing ever!

  • I couldnt quite understand what Trent said at the beginning, could anybody make that out for me?

  • whoever that is at the start has an accent, which Trent doesn't have, so I'm not sure who it is...

  • @whatisdylar Only thing better is Peter Andre covering Elton John on the bassoon

  • Crappy video but fantastic version. Ian would have smoked on stage with Peter and danced like real people dance.

    Fantastic!!!

  • You (jasonlrd) got it right ! JD is the best ! PM w/ NIN very cool... People who don't see the power, and magic in JD are beond help. Joy Division - Ian R.I.P.

  • What a classic. Joy Division and Ian would be very proud. Joy Division the best band in my opinion of all time.

  • i have never felt before This, full body orgasm by ear - reptile brain - across spinal ...downward

  • NINE INCH NAILS VS. BAUHAUS! TWO TITANS! 5 stars

  • Peter Murphy! A legendary voice!!!!!

  • now that i've calmed down. 'dead souls' should have made it onto sir johnny cash's american recordings. fuck the world.

  • daft fucking twat. dead souls was always about the build up.......not the instant gratification delivered by punctual vocals. reznor brought singing up front as he knows his fans are mostly impatient daft cunt star gazers. fuck you, long live joy division.

  • i like the NIN version of dead souls better because they start to sing quicker

  • Dead Souls is a Joy Division song by the way

  • How fitting is it that them two of them still cover Ian Curtis. Kids these days may not know who Joy Division was but at least musicians do.

  • my kids do. my five years old boy loves dead souls! I'm worried.

  • better loving dead souls than seeing dead people :D

  • How pathetic.

  • And yet, hope abounds. My 20 year old daughter, painted the cover of "Closer" for my birthday last year.

  • Rock&Up!

    Bryan From MayflowerBlood!

  • Thanks for puting up this footage...This was an awesome concert! I wasn't a big Peaches fan, but what ever...NIN rocked!

  • Joy Division (Ian Curtis), New Order, Skinny Puppy, Peter Murphy (Bauhaus and Dahli's Car), Trent Reznor (NIN)........all amazing and beyond words of adequate description for the contributions they have given us all with regard to music, poetry, and creativity. Stop with the insults people and get a clue. R.I.P. Ian Curtis........ and Dwayne Goettel (Skinny Puppy) I thank them all for sharing their talents with me and the world.

  • You forgot the likes of David Bowie, Gary Numan, The Cure, Lou Reed, and Pink Floyd, in terms of bands that stretched horizons for music, opening up for the likes of Marilyn Manson to take center stage.

I'd also rank The Sisters of Mercy and Fields of the Nephilim with those, but they aren't as mainstream and accessible I suppose.

  • The keep on calling me.

  • La voix de Peter Murphy contribue amplement à rendre cette version... potable, heureusement pour NIN !!!

  • Fantastic!!!

  • skinny puppy is lightyears better than NIN

  • Skinny Puppy is mostly unlistenable. I'll give them credit for Dig It, though.

  • nine inch nails is tame pop music compared to the awesome mind expanding power of skinny puppy!

  • I'll give them credit for being beyond me a little in the lyrics. But they aren't Frank Zappa in that aspect . . .

Skinny Puppy is about as raw as you can get. Nine Inch Nails found the perfect blend between gothic, industrial, and mainstream rock music. Both bands are great to listen to. Skinny Puppy is just more . . . experimental at times.

Oh, and Phantom's Desire forgot to mention David Bowie, Gary Numan, The Cure, and Pink Floyd in terms of bands that expanded gothic horizons.

  • Siouxsie & the Banshees is another.

  • you can suck trents balls hehe

  • Skinny Puppy is shit! They are sooo funny with their shitty costumes...and Nivek Ogre is very bad singer, everyone can sing like him..Trent is GOD!

  • this cover couldn't really have been better

  • suena chingon con P.M.......que buen tributo a Ian curtis

  • Peter Murphy singing a Joy Division song? If it is a dream, I don't want to wake up. Hallucinating!

  • Heh, he ended his show in philadelphia a few weeks ago with Transmission, it was amazing.

  • I was there but do not remember such a good show ,,,do to the fact a had two girls in front of me flailing their arms about like they were at a Poison concert from the 80's show, they really ruined it for me,I do wish this next tour I attend I do not have to deal with that, to make things worse I had to overhear that those two girls where invited back stage,,,WHY IS THAT....THAT MAKES ME SICK,i AM A LONG TIME FAN AND THESE GIRLS ARE WHAT WAS INVITED BACK,

  • were they nice looking girls? i wonder... that may have been why...

  • I kicked a guy in the balls there, he went DOWN

  • shoreline sucks, but this cover rules

  • it does suck. I dread going there.

  • maybe i was next to the camera and didn't know it! i was there and loved every minute of it.

  • this looks like it was recorded from either right behind me or right in front of me, but it is the section i was in, anyhow

  • This concert was soooo amazing.

  • I think Pete lends alot to this cover Ian would be proud.

  • Fuckin' rad man. This song was in the Crow too, my favourite movie. This just kicks ass.

  • who ever witnessed this is a lucky-ass ho bag!

i envy you, i dont think we got any special treats at our concert...

  • NIN+Peter Murphy covering JD... to quote the Faulty Phrasebook sketch from Monty Python "My nipples are exploding with delight"

  • joy didvison was the greatest Group of all time with Ian curits .. but peter makes some of the greatest covers of al time. he does bowie great also . murphey is pure genuis. Ian Curtis was the GOD himself in the flesh

  • I'm so jealous that people got to see this live. I saw Bauhaus about a year and a half ago and it was the best concert I've seen in a long time (although The Stooges a month ago were right up there). Anyway, Peter singing LWTUA by JD? Dear heavens, proof there is a god. I like this cover more than any other of any JD song.

  • I saw this show. NIN puts on a phenominal show and to see Bauhaus was spectacular!!

  • LUCKYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!

  • when i saw them i was mostly there for bauhaus saw them 3 times (in 98,05,and 06) anways some fuck hole said "who are these guys" i swear i wanted to beat the shit out him

  • We should make it an industrial/goth pact that if any of us old-schoolers, or people in the know, hear such things then we are permitted to beat the living crap out of the Nimrod that utters such blasphemy, in ignorance of the underground sub-culture. lmao!!

  • a cover of a cover....? lol still good stuff

  • I wish I can give this more stars on the rating! LordNeonin, were you the idiot who sat next to me and asked, "Who are these guys?" when Bauhaus came on stage? Looking back, I should have kicked you in the balls and screamed "GET THE FUCK OUT OF HERE!" Thevoid99, tell me when you find those MP3s!

  • You SHOULD have kicked that guy in the balls! lol!! Let me guess...he was a whiny little cry-baby emo kid, right? Right? lol!! Or was he one of those jocks that have recently become NIN fans?? lmao!!

  • La mayoria de la veces la original es mejor (con Joy Division)pero algunas veces hay sus excepciones.

    Una excelente rola

  • oaijsdoaisdoiad

    i can't believe it.

    this is too much

  • The best song ever

  • This is an amazing song and peter murphy with nin... ITs like music haveing sex... ITS GREAT! I cant believe I didnt go to this show! The reason I didnt go was becuase Bauhaus wasnt the main band... now I regret it.

  • I'm still waiting for those Chicago MP3s of the band w/ Murphy doing Joy Division covers. It's pretty fucking cool.

  • I'll never be the same after this

  • this is fucking brilliant!

  • NIN + Peter Murphy + Joy Division´s song. I have not words

    NIN+Bauhaus+JD=my 3 favorite bands. I wish i were there!

  • Too fuckin' right!

  • Nine Inch Nails alone preforming this is amazing... with Peter Murphy... wow

  • idk, i dont like a dude with a british voice perform it, doesnt give it too much justice.

  • LordNeonin said: "idk, i dont like a dude with a british voice perform it, doesnt give it too much justice". I say: This song originated from a British voice and people like Trent Razor and Pete Murphy owe their whole artistic career's to THE voice I refer to.

  • fuck yeah

  • Trent Reznor, not razor.

  • It was originally a Joy Division song, sung by Ian Curtis, who is BRITISH! Learn yourself something fool.

  • Ignorant much?

  • That dude with a british voice is the god of gothic rock, Peter Murphy, whom Trent used to open up for when he was nobody. That being said, this is originally a british pop song by Joy Division, so LordNeonin, you don't know what the f*@% your taliking about.

  • you are a fucking idiot. dead souls is a cover of an old joy division song. joy division were an english band. ian curtis was an englishman. you are a fucking idiot.

  • I'm gonna guess you never heard the original Joy Division version, then

  • Seriously dude you realy need to get your facts straight "lordneonin" Ian curtis(Joy division) was from the uk which means he's british!!! Douche!!
