The sequencer generates control voltages. The control voltages are then used to modulate a CV input. In many cases, this is the pitch of the oscillator.

@stretta lol, not to mention, no one says anything when a guitarist spends 2.5k on a guitar, 1k on ampli+speaker. and possibly another 1.5k on pedals. but OMG! 4k(get a lot for 4k already) on synthesizers only?!?!?!

Awesome demo! Although Kevin Lux's video is way more detailed, this one really demonstrates the musical use of the sequencer much more clearly.
