It might seem tedious to level grind to get that extra Gil in order to purchase every piece of equipment, but if you want all the skills and abilities, you'll have to do this. hey DK when you reach Gizmalukes Grotto dont go up the vine ladder where the moggles are because there is a strong monster up there and if u do plan on doing a quick level up, steal from the boss in Gizmalukes Grotto (Gizmaluke), it has a staff for Vivi its called the Ice Staff. also dont forget to get the magus hat in the cave you can do that two ways one way is going to the far right of the doors and theres a little arc to go under go by that and get the hat or u can steal it from gizmaluke.

If you let Freya win you will get the Coral Ring which absorbs electric attacks and teaches a party member(one that you will get very soon) a good move
The Zahgnol is in the same place every time, but I think you have to kill enough monsters or wait long enough. I believe it's the District Freya is given, so I'd suggest killing the monsters in your district and then heading to Freya's. Keep the Ogre Blade, the enemies give no xp/ap, so use your strongest items and don't worry about mastering your abilities. The enemies will be stronger than when you first met, but that new weapon should OHK them.
Freya will most likely win unless you find the optional boss, the Zahgnol. Upon defeating him, you will come up on top. I think if you kill yourself after defeating him though, Vivi will win, or maybe dying to him will make Vivi win.

I don't remember the card, but I don't think it's anything to worry if you're not going to go far in it. I believe The Gil is a decent amount, I'm assuming 10k. The Add-on absorbs Thunder attacks and gives Freya an attack that also damages MP.
there is a funny little easter egg if you check the swords hanging on the wall in the weapon shop, you can go look at it after the festival if you want, its just a reference to another FF game.
Random notes about the cards. There are some based on the old Final Fantasy games, one of which will let you rename your characters by talking to someone you will be able to meet by disk 3.
FFXIII-2 is only coming out on the 3rd of February here in Europe, it's a shame but it WILL be worth the wait. DarkKefka my dear friend, I share your feelings... SERAH!!!

When the timer is below 4:30, go the area with the Weapon and Item shops and you'll fight the Zaghnol with Zidane and Freya. Let whoever you want to win get the last hit on Zaghnol so they get the points.
Personally, I'd let Freya win. The Coral Ring is a pretty good accessory.
You don't have to Equip an ability to learn it, you have to equip it for it to be in use. Like, with Bandit, once you master it, you still have to equip it if you want to have a better chance at stealing.
Its wise just to wait a bit with FFXIII-2, and on top of that, I'm from Europe and I have to wait 'till the Third of February :( for the game to come out. I'm getting the Crystal Edition though!

Cards ain't useful like in FF8, so you don't have to worry about them too much.
I always level Zidane up at this point when hes alone, enemies are quite easy and the xp isn't too bad.
