I like your description of the game, however basic it may be. I think a lot of people would benefit from your descriptions. I don't like how you are skimming over a lot of things and using books from several editions. You use the 2nd edition players handbook and the third edition dungeon masters guide. The books seen in this video would not be used together in one game. You can't use any edition players handbook with any edition monster manual and so forth.
i'm getting the forth edition starter kit; does that come with the handbooks, guides and bells and whistles? I need to have the players handbooks and guides to start playing right?
@boogerguy2 if it still matters, the only thing you *Need* to play is a Player's Handbook.
If you're new to DnD, I recommend buying at least 2 player's handbooks (one for the players one for you), a Dungeon Master's Guide, a Monster Manual, and a pre-made quest
Jesus saves from the guilt of sin by faith in his shed blood. That is why he came to earth, to die on the cross for our sins so we could go to heaven through faith in his blood. Repent of your sins and ask Jesus to come into your heart. Once you are saved from your sins, you are saved forever. Faith in Jesus is the only way to heaven. If you die in your sins you will burn in Hell and the Lake of Fire for all eternity. God bless.
lol ive always wanted to play this, and ive been trying for years. but i have noone to play it with because im scared people will find out that i play it XD
why the hell would you need a guide for your type of character? It doesn't matter what class you are, you run around, roll a dice, kill some things. There is no specific 'strategy' unless you are useing some skill that comes with your character. It isn't like you can have one member flank from one side while the rest go in through the front door.
@64Peder I did dislike 4E at first but after giving it a good couple sessions I find that my complaints were all based on how different it is in implementation from 3E and not being a big 3E fan 4E has finally won me over. It started to grow on me because it is a little bit easier to run and prep for games using the new system. I recommend Fiery Dragon counters and/or Precise Intermedia's disposable heroes cardboard 2D miniatures and a chessex battlemat to set up encounters.

I really don't see why they consider this a video that is classified as an "expertvillage" video. Just because someone has a collection of 100+ books (collections mean nothing, anyone can buy a hundred books -- few can read them all), and just because he ran a 10 year long campaign doesn't mean someone who hasn't done all that can figure all these "How to play D&D" segments out without even watching them.
Anyone with basic knowledge on the game can figure this stuff out -- no "expert" needed.
i have been playing off and on for awhile i usually played 4th edition but now im in a group playing 2nd edition i was a lil confused on 2nd edition but once you make your charecter it gets alot smoother
Question: I just bought the 4e player's book and is not that easy to read. Unfortunately the book doesn't hava a glossary and I'm having problem with acronyms. What does "AC" stands for? And what does [W]stands for ( it normally reads "hit:1[W] + strenght".
Not really, I also think is just crap, went through insider but couldn't find anything useful. Actually I'm kinda a beginner, I used to play 3E but just for a couple of months, and found out that 4E got a bit complicated. I'm just using what I thinkg will make my game easier and funnier, I like old school.

AC stands for armor class. That's all I know (from older editions)
I haven'y picked up a 4th edition players handbook yet

Thanks both! I just finish reading the player's book and finnally discovered thet [W] is for the damage you deal with your weapon.

I gotta ask... since you own it. Do you NEED to use a computer to play 4e? All that insider crap is pissing me off :P
