  • "Brother Brother" is a wonderful old Carole King song

  • nice post, Marvin was a great bass player who contributed a lot more to the songwriting process than people imagine. A big loss but his health had been poor for a longtime and he's at peace now, God rest you my man.

  • I love this family so much. Marvin was very quiet and low key. RIP Marvin Isley

  • Let this man's death serve as a reminder to take extra special care of ourselves. We are not immortal. Sure we can enjoy some "naughty" foods (fried, sugary, etc) & drinks (beer, cognac, etc) from time to time, but too much will put us in an early grave. Be healthy brothers & sisters.

  • RIP

  • There were not many tributes going out to Marvin , Catfish Collins , Gary Shider, Tina Marie , and the Bass Player and Founding member Of the Gap Band. I cut my Bass playing teeth with these artists. Today I cry while a listen to the music they made , and in the future will not let them die as I play cover tunes from them all. They were with a whole generation of kids who danced , loved , and just plain partied to their songs. RIP. You will be missed!

  • I've loved all the Isley's 4ever. Marvin 4 sure R.I.P. U R missed!

  • Someone out there please post more videos with Marvin "Baby Brother" Isley in them. I had a mad crush on him for years as a young girl growing up.

  • @Roanel48 Always wondered where the Isleys grew up. I heard years ago that they were from the Cincinnati, Ohio area, if so, they were another extension of the long line of talented musicians that emerged from that area.

  • WOW this is rough....thanks for it G..

  • I wish they coulda showed those shots of Marvin on stage walking toward Ernie and Marvin in the studio playing an Alembic bass. Two of the best shots of him. They're in the inside of the album covers.

  • play man along with the late great teddy pendergrass...r.i.p both of you..a great loss we will feel for a long time..

  • Let's have a moment of silence for Marvin Isley who has left us to go Home to Glory. He had his legs amputated and lost the use of his left hand due to the complications of diabetes. Suffer no more! I can see you now with Wes Montgomery on guitar, Donny Hathaway on electronic piano, Grover Washington on the sax, and my father on the drums, with Luther Vandross singin' lead vocals. All we have to do is press play and bring you back to life. RIP, Marvin Isley
