talking to Shinon with Rolf is required. I've tried simply beating him with Ike, and I didn't get that conversation, and I didn't get Shinon back. so yes, talking with Rolf is required.

@SlimKirby When they started talking I thought the animation would turn into an epic fight with the music, the leader and the bow wielding jackass, and after they exchanged banter they would duel to the death, and before the final blow was struck, Ike would spare him. Then the conversation, music ended and their was no animation and Ike took 2 hits and beat him without getting hit. That put the A in Anti climactic...

You can get shinon by talking with rolf couple times just make sure rolf wont kill shinon

Correction, eight. If adept decides to activate on each of the four normal attacks you'd get.

With Brave weapon + Double by Speed + Adept, if you're very lucky, you can get as many as SIX hits in a single attack. ...not that you'd need that many to kill one unit unless its Strength is low or the enemy's Defense and/or HP are high.

@Sonikku2008 look up the the nephenee combo in rd she got 8 turns hit the guy in the animation 15 times and would have kept going if all the criticals/impales didnt kill him (if it was a different sentinal there would have been more hits because her impale animation hits 4 times not 5) to make it better it was a dragon and all the hits got it in the balls

I find it ironic that Shinon and Rolf are talking about their secret with about half a dozen people within hearing range XD

I'm currently playing FE7, but my Priscilla isn't at a very high level, so I don't know what she can do once she DOES Promote ^_^;

Yep, Rolf talking to him is necessary. I've tested it just by killing him with Ike and not having Rolf talk to him, and he just dies and doesn't join up afterward.

You would think so, but it doesn't. I suppose they wanted you to do it their way rather than any other way you might've come up with.
