This hobby has become amazing, wow.....jet engines in rc helicopters! I wish these were around when I was a teenager in the late 70's and early 80's!

gas engines have a piston that creates internal combustion through compression of a fuel/air mixture, turbines are simpler design, using stator vanes and compressor blades, throw som air and some fuel together with a hot flame and you get their combustion...this bird (although bill pirschell wont tell you what he spent on it) has a $10K insurance policy on it. took him about 3 years to put it together, vario helicopter body and head...no specific machine on the inside, sells it, ask $12K.

@nccfiddlar He said the body and mechanics are Len Mount. There is a lot of scratch building including the weapons and interior. The rotorhead and tail rotor box are the only Vario parts. He has not uploaded any videos to the internet but is happy they are there. He also said he has never added up the cost so that he will still fly it and took 1.5 years to build. It is also the first scale model he has built.
