When I was walking over to the marina at 8am I walked past a transvestite - he might have been dead but that's a small matter, all sorts of drugs paraphernalia and belts, bras, the whole lot - that is the personal experience.

Weymouth looked OK to me, I think places like bicester, sheerness and peckham are worthy of the 'shit hole' title, not weymouth. So therefore I assumed you were talking about early in the morning when the druggies and mentalists are out

i went to weymouth in september, nice place. i enjoyed my week's stay there.., went to exeter on the bus, went to wareham, went over to guernsey on the boat, lovely best in dorset sausages from there too :P

I have lived on Portland 30+ years and Weymouth is the only nearest town I use the most, for banking, eating out but for clubbing it lacks something...........Clubs. I don't like summers here, to many people, more than what Weymouth can handle it seems.

If people don't want to live here they can easily get a council flat in London, or Manchester, or a city of similar size for relatively the same amount they can here. Bearing in mind job opportunities are all over the place in conurbations like those.

My x just got a flat in London for a staggering £360 per week for rent, it has one bedroom come kitchen come lounge ( 9' by 7' ) and a bathroom. It over looks a shop and a wall. I pay only £76 a week, I have a lounge, a bedroom, a bathroom, a sep toilet, kitchen, study, hall and views over looking Osprey and the new Sailing Academy here on Portland. I have more examples if you wish.

I think the song is quite appropriate as although the pictures show a nice little seaside town at night it can get very violent, it didn't get on Britain's Toughest Seaside Towns for nothing. It is also rife with drugs and teenage pregnancy. What a lovely place to live.

the only problem weymouth may have is when its invaded bu northern idiots in the summer months!! (much the same as any other seaside town) but all in al its a sound friendly town

the fact that you have been living in and around here for 34 years may contribute to why you never have a problem.. your a different generation and you wouldn't see the drug and alcohol abuse i do as a 17 year old as well as violence and teenagers who have or are due to have kids.

The only down side is in the summer when all the torist are around and forget that local people live in the town and they always get in my way when I'm in a hurry to get down the High street to meet a friend or catch a bus to Dorchester.
