@dumle29 yes I know. Buy an ecoroute HD plug in for your Garmin GPS. It connects to the Vehicle diagnostic port and links via blue tooth to your GPS - gives engine information.

Lots of Garmin units are compatible so if you buy the eco Route HD transponder you'd get the same thing.

You don't need to re map everywhere you got. Closed Loop fuel trim adjustments, 02 sensors, knock sensors and not to mention Barometric Pressure transducers. What a fool. OBD2 starts from '96 and newer vehicles, not '00 and Toyota started in '95, it the video doesn't say anything about how and where to get it, and in not sure if 20$ for the app is a good price

The M5's (and other cars) engines change mapping depending on altitude and temp. The MAF sensor is sensitive to temp and air pressure, that way adjusting mapping accordingly, the hPa (air pressure) is not only determined by altitudes but by high and low pressure systems, etc the MAF (Mass air flow sensor) works with oxy sensor, ECU, intake air temp sensor, etc. to calculate the mapping. The car has always current mapping, the vanos system, is also working to get max power at any temp/altitude.

What the hell do you guys think that the Mass Airflow Sensor does?! It measures the mass of the air, not the amount of air. This is a big reason why EFI is better than carbs. No re-jeting needed for altitude change, because it's automatic.

Most modern engine control units already adjust on air pressure (altitude) and air temperature. Also on your recent driving behaviour, loads your pulling, engine temperature, fuel quality and loads more that I forgot. This is sad FLD/144, just sad.

Data, from various "too complicated" sensors under the hood will allow your ECU to adjust its valve timing, injector duration, throttle position, etc.. for max-effiency. Your idea of "GPS-mapping" is retarded since your positions doesn't tell you anything about climate. Reguardless of climate your ECU will select the SAFEST and FUEL economical method to deliver power. Settings such as SPORT are there when you obviously do NOT care about economy and comfort.

Google ECU for up to date facts.

OBD2 is 1996 and up...just a correction :) Also, my OBD2 tool cost about 60-80 dollars and I can use it on the go. The only difference is that it's on the Laptop and it's not wireless.
